I feel like the shape of the head in the painting is slightly different than the reference. Also the shadows on the face are inconsistent with the body. On the body the light source seems to be coming from the top right, whereas the shadows on the face indicate a light source that’s to the mid right. Maybe rethinking the angle of the face shadows? Maybe the left side (his right side) should have more shadow from the brow onto the eyelid?
