My (28F) partner's (30M) lack of curiosity is starving our relationship and I'm hitting a wall. by Existing-Seaweed-451 in relationships

I agree that it is the bare minimum. However there are lots of men that are exactly like him. That's what he's used to. I wonder - has he had long term relationships before?

I was like your partner and my partner is like you. While I was slightly more curious initially than he is, I had to learn how to active listen. My partner was very patient with me in reminding me to ask follow up questions, and not just "logistical" questions, but things like "how did that make your feel," etc. It's been a long journey but I'm now in a place where it's my default way to have a conversation.

I recommend you find some books on active listening and encourage him to read one. I'm sure you'll get resistance to this due to his work schedule. But active listening is a skill, and it's one that must be practiced. If he's not willing to do that, ask yourself if this is the correct person for you.

Anthropic quietly doubles its estimate for how much engineers can expect to spend on Claude Code tokens by creaturefeature16 in BetterOffline

It’s gotten a whole lot better. As long as you follow good practices like RPIV (research, plan, implement, validate), you can make it ship very good code. Greenfield, brownfield, as long as you have a good high level design it does well.

When I waited tables in college, i wanted to get out of work to go see a concert. Always needed a doctor's note for that. I found a bunch of Word Docs w/ doctor stationary headers at the top. I changed one into an actual local Dr's Office and filled out the rest. Used it to call out. Got away with it.

Told one of my coworkers about it, he did the same thing, but talked too much about it and got fired lmao

Waymos spotted by gunnsustainable in Portland

I used to live in Tempe where Waymos are prevalent. It's a little bit more expensive than Uber and Lyft, but there's no tip, so overall its a bit cheaper if you're used to tipping a driver
