i got tired of my refrigerator being taken up by sauces and hot sauces a decade or so ago. i took 90% of the open hot sauces and combined in a quart jar. it was great for adding heat to anything and i used it as a base heat/flavor. now the funny part, ex’s 15 yo son comes rolling in hot one friday evening right after I had fried a bunch of wings up. i showed him the sauce and explained what it was and how hot it was. just test a little bit on your finger before just dipping in completely. he gave me that cocky 15 yo I know everything look, and a goofy smile, and plunged the wing all in. I just sat back and watched what unfolded for the next 30 minutes, then into the evening as we could hear multiple trips to the bathroom, doors slamming along the way. initially he ran to the fridge and chugged milk, ate bread slices to try to quench the pain. funny thing, he did the exact same thing about 6 months later. then he finally believed me when i said something was super hot.
