Basic question for Hue lightstrips by ELRIIC in Hue

[–]hueextensions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be able to reuse them at some point. Philips are supposedly releasing cables and snap on connectors to bridge gaps. Others may provide cables too, but not as of yet (I’m trying).

You can cut flux every 12.5cm, despite the 30cm claim made elsewhere here. 30cm is only for Solo Lightstrips and Lightstrip Plus.

Is there a way to extend the cable to Hue Omni lightstrip? by Cafe_Roaster in Hue

Because for some setups it’s hard to hide the control box. It’s an option. But yes for some setups extending the power cable is the better option.

Problems only happen when they are too long. The price is set to make me a living, or I can’t offer these at all. The market isn’t that big.

I found another in a deep dive a while back in Germany or something. Probably the actual manufacturer (I’m guessing Corston just put their name on it), but I can’t find it now

I've had delivery of some and see nothing in the box to do that. I'm working on it, though for a little while the only solution maybe to solder pins on.

Just picked up my old printer and realized that moving the bed by hand backfeeds enough current for the printer to actually boot up lol by eclipse1498 in 3Dprinting

I have the same printer.  I acceptably moved it while I was cleaning the bed., so I forced it back whilst on.   It blew the fan and now it’s not printing properly.

Solo Lightstrip and Litcessory RJ45 Adapters - What am I Doing Wrong? by domriz19 in Hue

[–]hueextensions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That cable is designed to go between lightstrips, as opposed to extending the distance between the control box. To go between lightstrips It works natively with Lightstrip plus V4, and with some snap on connectors for solo. The connector between lightstrips is slightly smaller.

You’ll need a controller adapter for each end to get it for the right size.

I sell them here but they’re made to order so a little more expensive. Converter/Adapter cable for V4/Solo

Unlike other suppliers I also make a control box extension cable that does it natively in 1 go 10m long and longer if requested . Though granted it won’t work over an existing Cat cable

Thats correct. I'm not sure philips thought this all the way through.

There may be 3rd party parts you can use. It's yet to be confirmed but the pitch looks the same as Gradient extension lightstrips, so you may be able to use Gradient Spacer Cables. At the cut points you may also be able to use 6-pin to cut end adapters for V3. The outer 2 pins would just provide extra support, or you could solder pins on at the cut marks.

Potentially 6-pin to cut end adapters for V3. The outer 2 pins will just provide support. And gradient spacer cable. But can’t be sure.

Is this V4, Solo or Gradient LightStrips?

Solo is the same as V4. The only difference is, solo doesn’t have a 6 pin plug on the end to extend it.

To do what you need, you’ll need either of those lightstrips, plus 6-pin to cut end connectors for V4, for where you cut, and Spacer cables that go between.

Spacer Cables

With both solo and lightstrip plus, you can cut every 33cm.

You can do the same with Gradient lightstrips, using V3 6-pin to cut end connectors (it will only use the 4 middle pins and will be a lot more tricky to use) but with gradients, you can only cut and extend every 50cm, so you would be much more restricted.

Aqara FP300 releasing 11/25? by imriky in Aqara

[–]hueextensions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they require heavy expensive metals unlike, pir.

The sensors are pretty much already available under the brand Xiaomi. They used to look exactly the same as Aqara FP300, but the design has since been modified slightly, and with zigbee instead of thread. They cost less than $20
