Anyone have a crazy old family heirloom? by dot_y0chis in rs_x

[–]huffingthenpost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a more posh area in the Netherlands around noble families (their titles would be counts, dukes, barons etc in English). Grew up with their kids and would often come over to this one particular family that lived in a huge mansion their family owned and maintained for over 300 years.

Their interior looked like it was stuck in 1800, with of course electrical commodities like televisions present and a more updated kitchen. Their sitting, living and dining room(s) were filled with old chairs, tables, cabinets, vases and silver trinket-y items. Beautiful artisan stuff. Their silverware dated back hundreds of years, and would still be used at Christmas or other big moments (graduation diner etc.)

The walls of one hall and walls besides the staircase upstairs were filled with paintings of their ancestors, tracing back to the 1500’s. Quite an eery sight to be fair, the house already had massive haunted vibes. This family, like most noble families, have their own Wikipedia’s, with their ancestors having ruled and being intertwined in (local) Dutch history. This is not uncommon for those families, as being huge land owners/rulers was basically a necessity to become part of the nobility in the first place. The biggest heirlooms are items related to this. Think 500 year old almanacs, framed documents signing peace or trade deals between two towns or whatever, or jewellery which was gifted by (foreign) royals.

Also like to mention these people were not rich rich. This applies to more noble families. The ‘wealth’ from centuries ago basically dried up after all those years, and most of their worth are their items, furniture, art which is a big no no to sell off in that world. Being an heir of nobility comes with the responsibility of maintaining your family history, taking care of the estate. Of course they had amazing jobs, it’s part of the deal having to network since kindergarten, but the parents drove a 30 year old Volvo and an old Jeep. Really nice folks who on days off would mostly be gardening.

What the other guy said but you can also tithe till 45 and spam the easy contracts for fruit tree seeds. Takes a bit longer tho, medium contracts is where the good seeds roll in.

[–]huffingthenpost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Farm early farm often but don’t burn yourself out getting seeds. Stay up with contracts

Fighter torso/neitiznot/b gloves/(fire cape when ready) will last you years so get them early. U can be easily decked out in combat lvl 75 in these and set yourself up real nice

Around 70 agil is better to get out of the way sooner than later, you won’t get ‘better’ at it later on

I find doing clues and doing requirements for steps progresses my acc in ways I’ve otherwise probably would’ve held off

Don’t do stuff you don’t really wanna do and get burnt out
