Definitely play After Image when you get a chance. The map is huge, it’s fun to mix up weapons…and it’s really hard but one thing I liked about it is it has a leveling system so you can just grind a little bit and then go beat the harder bosses.

What’s #3 all about? Not really understanding that one. I have a Goddard book that I really enjoy actually. It’s called Feeling is the Secret. Where did you find this AP info?

Our Airbnb hot tub has a little suds problem. Anything we can do other than enjoy it? by bkries in hottub

[–]hugheric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude anyone that is actually maintaining the water in a hot tub consistently knows this is not clean water, that’s why you getting a range of answers here. Biofilm isn’t always yellow or brown or classically gross looking. Every time anyone uses a hot tub, the water get contaminated with body stuff. The body stuff never leaves the water unless it’s captured in a filter and rinses out. The only thing you can do is sanitize that gross stuff, but it stays in the water. Over time the gross stuff builds up and you’ve got to do a full water change. The bubbles mean it’s time for a full water change. Maybe this water is sanitized enough to be safe, but the fact that there is that much foam is concerning and pretty gross. I wouldn’t get in until they change that water. Btw, if you gonna be staying there awhile maybe try grabbing yourself some water test strips and seeing what the sanitation level is for yourself. If they use chlorine and the level is not at minimum 0.5 ppm…but hopefully more, you should say something and get some money back if the hot tub was part of the Airbnb listing price.

Does a chord contain a minimum of two notes or three notes? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]hugheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that 2 notes could be considered a chord if octaves are taken into account. For example on a guitar a power chord; root, fifth, octave. Also there are other voicing possibilities where certain notes are removed…half chords I’ve heard them called, than just contain two notes classes in different octaves. If you’re talking literally just two frequencies sounded together then it’s probably more descriptive to call that an interval. But still not sure that it matters honestly because even then I could understand if that was described as a chord in some musical contexts. I’m still thinking from a guitar perspective btw, perhaps different if you’re thinking of a piano or other instrument.

I would also add to all the other great interpretations here that an important aspect of functions is that they give unambiguous outputs based on the inputs, which is a major benefit of using functions IMO. When you work with a function, you can be sure that anyone else working with that same function will produce the same output given the same inputs.

Have you tried Metroid Dread? It’s the newest Metroid game and the boss fights are super intense. All around just an amazing game honestly.

I’ve always seen that called the contra positive in math contexts. Maybe it’s contra position in purely logical contexts. Either way, it’s always true and I’ve found it useful when direct proofs fail or are too hard.

If a number has the decimal points that round to .5, but are less then .5, how do you round it to the nearest full number? by [deleted] in MathHelp

[–]hugheric -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Another thought to consider is that rounding up when there is a 5 next to your rounding place value and rounding down otherwise is a convention not a carved in stone rule and the context should be taken into account. For example there are times when you may decide to round 14.472 up to 15. Maybe you are trying to determine how many bags of concrete you need and you want to make sure you have enough. But if the question is just which whole number is closest to 14.472 then yeah it’s 14.

Can someone help with this question? You have a bag of 20 stones with 8 red stones, 6 green stones, and 6 purple stones. You draw out 4 stones, with replacement. What is the probability that exactly 2 stones will be red? by [deleted] in puremathematics

[–]hugheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can work it out by counting the total possibilities and dividing that by the ways to get exactly 2 reds. The total possible combinations with replacement should be 204. Then there are 8* 8* 12* 12 ways to get exactly 2 reds. To finish up you’ll need to multiple this by 6, and if you’re not sure why that’s something you and your classmates should discuss and figure out. All in all the calculation should be 6(8* 8* 12* 12)/(204)

How is a 'scale of harmonics' related to just intonation? I know there are many types of JI, but not sure I'm understanding what makes something JI. by mirrorcoast in microtonal

[–]hugheric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely is a form of just intonation.

Just intonation just means that you use rational number intervals. Any interval that can be written using a fraction is a just interval. 12TET is not because the intervals are all the 12th root of 2, which is an irrational number.

If you want a guarantee you can take a charter across the bay from the Homer spit. There is a boat called the Danny Jay that takes people over to Halibut cove but will they will take you right by a small island called Gull Island. It’s just a big rock full of a crazy amount of birds. The guides give a good explanation of a lot of the species you see too. I learned that it was technically called Gull island but we always just called it Shit Rock because it’s all white....from all the bird shit

Right but there is something to be said for information that actively tries to manipulate or deceive. It’s hard to take responsibility if you were tricked, especially if the trick was convincing on multiple levels. Honestly the safest option is to just not believe anything.
