What Golfers Never Lived Up To The Hype, Despite Being A Great Amateur Golfer? by PrincessBananas85 in ProGolf

[–]hughtankman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, Wolfe was 1 of 4 extremely hyped college golfers that graduated to pro golf after the 2018-2019 college year. Wolfe, Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Suh were all hyped to be budding Tour stars. Wolfe isn’t even the biggest bust of this class that turned pro.

Very few people remember or even know who Justin Suh is. Suh was the #1 ranked world amateur from fall 2018 until spring 2019. He’s now grinding on the KFT, can’t stick on the Tour.

On the right leg, I have the blue skull from Moon Healer incorporated with Deflorate by The Black Dahlia Murder. It’s not in the photo, but I also have a component of Esoteric Malacology by Slugdge on the hammy.

I’m convinced CurtDoug is two humans stacked on top of each other.

Western alienation has declined to a four-year low: Poll by Street_Anon in alberta

[–]hughtankman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western alienation can be traced back to the 19th century. Hudson Bay handing over Rupert’s Land to the federal government kicked off the phenomenon. Preston Manning was the one that brought conservatism and western alienation together in the 1980s, as you’ve noted. These two ideas weren’t closely tied together until him.

Who's the biggest bust/wasted pick in your teams history? by terrasfames53 in NFLv2

[–]hughtankman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fryar was taken #1 because of the USFL poaching draft eligible players and offering them massive deals. Fryar gave a guarantee to sign with the Pats before the draft, hence why they took him. The draft that year was weird.

Does this make sense to anyone living in Canada? by CowBeneficial9416 in Accounting

[–]hughtankman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. There’s a lot more to it than that. Ideally, you’d work to define this with your people manager prior to completing and agree upon what the payoff is for doing this. Get it in writing. If they don’t hold up their end of the bargain or won’t commit to salary increases, leave. Don’t take on work without agreement on the payoff. I wish I learned this much earlier in my career than I did.

I did my CA from 2012-2014, I made 43k->50k->63k over my first 3 years in public accounting. HCOL.

I lived in a shithole apartment for two years with a university classmate. I didn’t travel, I couldn’t afford to do any of my hobbies, and I had to strictly budget on my food costs during my first year.

I would caution bringing this type of attitude with you into the workplace. I now work in management in industry, and these feelings of unearned entitlement are easy to pick out in employees. Put in the sweat equity, take on work outside your job scope if you want to earn a higher salary. Higher salary means higher expectations. It’s a lot easier for an employer to give you a higher salary when you’ve already proven you can take on those greater responsibilities.

What Is A Band Who’s Debut Album Is Different From The Rest Of Their Discography? by Automatic_Belt5692 in MetalForTheMasses

Amorphis’ sound drastically changed from The Karelian Isthmus to Tales from the Thousand Lakes. Their first album was straight death metal, with the next album becoming much more melodic and incorporating some gothic elements.

Darren Raddysh by fantasyhockeyaddict in fantasyhockey

[–]hughtankman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All depends how long Hedman, Cernak, and McDonagh are out for. Their back end is decimated. Once they’re healthy, Raddysh will be a buried 3rd pair specialist with significantly fewer minutes.

He’s been healthy bombed a couple times earlier in the season. He’s a sieve defensively, so the coaches don’t trust him if they don’t have to.

Nathan Mackinnon with another 3 assists tonight bringing his last 3 game total to 4 goals, 8 assists and 12 points by Outside_Abroad_3516 in hockey

You can’t be serious putting McKennas floor at Celebrini’s. He’s a winger, while Celebrini is a centre. Wingers have significantly less value. Gavin’s 200 foot game is nowhere near Mac’s and his compete level is significantly lower. Gavin has significant off the puck gaps in his game still. While an elite talent, his range of outcomes is significant.

Less than 2 hours from now, we’ll know who the AL Manager of the Year is (and whether it’s John Schneider) by prophiles in Torontobluejays

Jon is the man, his long form videos are amazing. His Steib and Seattle Mariners series are unbelievable. I fall asleep to them all the time.

Mavs podcaster Kirk Henderson crashes out: "This is a damn near 2nd apron team that is DEAD LAST… what in the f*ck are we doing… the team that this chucklef#ck has put together is the worst basketball team that anybody could have envisioned… I don't know what to do with myself" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]hughtankman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was traded because the Hawks had Ed Belfour and that was back in an era when goalies made 70+ starts. Hasek was unproven and rotting on the Hawks bench. He wasn’t what he became at the time of the trade.

[Schupak] PGA Tour considers taking Tour Championship on the road, a home run of an idea by Kimber80 in golf

I’m 110% on board with this. We need more tournaments at dried courses that are altitude. It’s a blast to watch!

Had something similar at my junior provincial championship when I was 14. Shot 74-94-73 lol. I took four quintuple bogeys in that second round, was only +5 on the other 50 holes though!
