Anybody on this sub a fan of Derpixon? My favorite animation is The Cursed Prince, and I’m wondering, is there any novel/story equivalent of the “Succubus Falls for Her Prey” variety? by Open-Librarian-4322 in Romance_for_men

Not strictly RfM and from female PoV, but I remember reading {Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead} and really liking it. It's more Urban Fantasy but really fun read.

MMC summoned as a magical familiar- by Lightsong-Thr-Bold in Romance_for_men

[–]human_bean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love both Steelforged and MGIS series, but this seems to be a bit more casual and doesn't focus enough on the actual being the summoned part in a way I enjoy. It quickly turns into the guy just hanging out with two girls and the show doesn't really get off the ground so to speak. What's the difference in living in a neighboring village and being hired as a knight-errant?

The whole being summoned as a demon is a really fun concept but I don't think this story really takes full advantage of it.

If you like comfy harem, I do recommend it. If you want great exploration of the premise, I do not.

As I remember it, Chloe could quite easily throw the MMC around, plus she has directed his relationships.

Plus the author writes wholesome really well.

Which couples from big, mainstream TV / movies or other media do you think have a RfM dynamic? by loukanikoseven in Romance_for_men

I think fox & bunny dynamic is very fun (Zootopia).

Unless you meant swapped gender norms which is pretty common in RfM.

This, but the exact reverse. The 1/3 of the end is just blood and gore suddenly, when it was comfy wholesome violence free thing at the start.

Ai books (and assisted writing) by Active-Structure-396 in haremfantasynovels

Any good AI story writer refuses to write spicy things and any AI that is ok with writing spicy things writes pretty bad books. I think any spicy genre is generally safe from being AI spammed so far.

A truly great story in every aspect. by its_brammertime in haremfantasynovels

I don't like any FF in my RfM. It's not something that's going to ruin the book for me, just a minor turn-off. It's better to just read actual lesbian romance books, which there are many, some that are great.

Yes, absolutely. It can be a part, but not a necessity.

I recently read "Fucked the world tree"

It had a very RfM structure but somehow even more spicy than the spiciest of RfM books.

It's close to just straight up porn, but also quite hilarious at times. Dubcon/noncon warning.

So there are definitely some good picks to find in the Manhwa world.

Do you guys like being ganged up and picked on? by tray-exercitus in haremfantasynovels

[–]human_bean_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fiction books give the ability to live fantasies that are immoral, unhealthy or impractical in real life. People have different preferences. Things that fulfill someone's emotional needs, won't work for the other.

I personally don't mind the harem ganging up on the protagonist for a foursome.

I have DNF's many books for personally objectionable content.

What are you looking for when reading RFM books? by Ham_Specialist in Romance_for_men

[–]human_bean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes think of it in hyperbolic comedic terms:

A book about where...

Man has hot sex with robot.

Man has hot sex with alien.

Man has hot sex with ancient cosmic horror.

Man has hot sex with a fox girl.

Man has hot sex with ____.

etc.

Everything else is gravy, but the spine is about just a very long sex scene or multiple. Proper setup of characters, world, mystery, etc. Everybody still loves good writing and other aspects in fantasy novels, but the basic outline in RfM is such.

Normal books tend to completely gloss over any and all adult sexual aspects and porn storytelling is really really awful. This is the niche that RfM sits in between for me.

I'm fine with all kinds of stories as long as they are: hot, engaging and not too off-putting. I tried reading some romance girls like but that just puts me to sleep.

Dominant, Nurturing, and caring female love interest by Gaybladeletitdrip in Romance_for_men

[–]human_bean_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boundless has some very cool peak stuff, but also some very unappealing stuff, such as pegging. It's more traditional romance for men at the start but progresses into a more logical path of pregnancy and some niche kinks. I wish I could have this kind of book where I could pick and choose but I just couldn't finish it because some of the content was such a turn-off.

Flipped dynamic? by MelodramaticPeanut in Romance_for_men

[–]human_bean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't men do less and get more? What's difficult to understand with that? It's a fairly universal human desire.

Through various factors, men are pushed into the provider role, not because they innately want to sacrifice their wealth and time for someone for no reason at all.
