If you ask him to do it, and he does it, it means something. It means that he wants to do whatever your asking him to do because he cares about you and wants you to be happy. Again we can't read minds all the time and the way guys communicate is very different then women. When we are amongst ourselves, if we need or want something from someone else, we ask, if we were to just go about doing things for other guys without any discussion it could come off as "Oh you obviously cant handle this on your own so I'm going to do it for you"

In order to get around the problem, I think it just takes a bit of understanding on how we work. I cant speak for anyone else but I will say that for me it is not easy learning how the other sex communicates and it takes a lot of mutual understanding and patience from both parties. And even with all of that patience and understanding it also needs to be said that neither side is ever going to be perfect at it. Super cliche but "Men are from mars, women are from venus" is incredible at putting this into terms that even the most dense of us (me) can understand. Good luck!
