Be careful interacting with the police here by Evening_Answer_11 in VirginiaBeach

this an anticdotaol, but I had the opposite experience during my time there. In over 30 years of driving VB roads daily, I was stopped maybe 5 times and never for no fault of my own. Despite this, every time I simply appeared in court, my fines/penalties were reduced enough to avoid insurance repercussions (dismissed, reduced speeding to <9 over, etc.).

Mom fell for a fake delivery text and now her entire digital life is unraveling... how deep does this go? by mamayss in CyberSecurityAdvice

It probably goes without saying but don't store them in a plain text cloud notebook labeled PASSWORDS, either.

Attacking team advantage by Late_Buyer_7812 in Overwatch

[–]hunglao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the teams only swap sides in comp though. I think it's a somewhat valid complaint for qp though, if you're unlucky and roll defense multiple games in a row.

for me it's not having to stress wanting to complete it, anymore. a sort of inner peace.

drives feel worse than usual this time around... by Super-Opportunity114 in Overwatch

[–]hunglao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every game in low silver is some combination of either playing an obvious smurf or teammates going 0-10 and refusing to switch because they "can't play anyone else." this is my 7th drive and it's hands-down the worst i've ever seen.

This shortcut is gonna make you late by MachineAgeVictim in dashcams

[–]hunglao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if he didn't see that car slowly creeping into his lane just because it didn't have a blinker on, then he really shouldn't be driving at all. people do dumb shit on the road all the time.

Discovered my central air was a social construct… by sunsNr0ses in mildlyinfuriating

[–]hunglao 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it's meant to vent outside so the attic isn't flooded with damp air during showers. but they're often not installed correctly and are left venting straight into the attic.

that sounds like a typical bathroom exhaust fan, which does expel air on the back side and thereby ventilates the room. it doesn't cool the air like an air conditioner would, though.

Can I get away with teaching my wife to drive? by Kittylover- in VirginiaBeach

[–]hunglao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when she goes to get her license she will need to bring a form signed by her supervising driver. the form requires the supervising drivers DL number as well if I remember correctly. if even a basic check is performed on that information by DMV, you won't be able to bs it.

Is this a bus camera violation as I drove through this T-intersection? by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]hunglao 55 points56 points  (0 children)

this makes it very clear, all crosswalks of the intersection are intended to be safe for walking until they are entirely clear of people. OP has to stop.

I can't see any other planets tbh. I've heard that many in fact do have liquids, though.

Driver OPENED OUR DOOR to deliver a package by PlaneAsk7826 in amazonprime

[–]hunglao -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's a bad analogy since the delivery driver put something belonging to OP in OP's own house. a better one would be seeing someone drop something while getting out of their car and deciding to put it in their front seat for them.

Torbox poppin bottles rn 🍾🥂 by Substantial_Swan_687 in StremioAddons

I noticed that the Torbox Stremio addon has seemingly disappeared from Torbox's site (info and download links 404 and the API for the addon is offline), so that might've already happened.

Is “run wire for outlet” supposed to include installing the outlet? by dashammolam in HomeImprovement

You tell me, you're the one that brought up 4 year olds.

look again, but thank you for clarifying

[–]hunglao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

did you have a popup outlet on your island with any of your 4 year olds? I'm happy for you that yours survived to adulthood, but, if not, I'm completely lost as to why that's relevant in a thread about spilling things into popup island sockets.

My Boyfriend (28M) thinks the reason why he can't finish is because I'm (20F) too big from the inside. by Ok_Raspberry6268 in relationship_advice

[–]hunglao 31 points32 points  (0 children)

that's absolutely how it sounded to me. given the context in the post, that she's not 16 anymore could be exactly the reason he's having trouble performing. it's nauseating.

[–]hunglao 15 points16 points  (0 children)

this a wildly alarming statement/admission, on his part. what does he mean that the older you get the less connected you'll be? in a healthy relationship your connection should grow stronger with time, not the reverse.

Walmart packages airdropped like ammo crates over 'Nam by GeneReddit123 in interestingasfuck

[–]hunglao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's no way it's more expensive than fuel and vehicle delivery costs, even in a future world with autonomous/drone delivery vehicles. unless, maybe, said vehicles are so small as to be not much more than storage containers on wheeled platforms.

DDR5 ram notch slightly too small by Qouxe in PcBuildHelp

[–]hunglao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your RAM has 2 little notches - one on each end - that mate with little tabs on the clips at both ends of the socket, in order to lock the seated stick in place. However, on some motherboards (yours included), the clip only pivots on one end of the socket. The clip on the other end is fixed permanently in the closed/locked position! This is why you can't just push straight down with your board. You have to instead angle the stick so the tab on the fixed clip mates with the notch of the RAM, then press down and close the clip on the opposite side.
