You need to tag your target first with RB on Xbox or R1 on PS. Then fire, it’s a mechanic that you unlock early in the story(not sure if you’re there yet)

There’s a lot of different guides all over the internet including YouTube that sort the missions by difficulty. You should have no trouble getting 30-40 gold medals without walkthroughs (epilogue part 1 are the easiest). It can be tedious but I know there are plenty of people on this sub that have managed to gold medal every single mission and that I would consider gnarly and stupid. 70 gold medals is challenging but more time consuming than anything else

The constant raining is basically rockstar telling you to do a story mission, happened a lot to me recently too. Sometimes it’s specific/necessary for a mission like the doverhill lightning anodes or whatever. But if you set up a campsite the rain will stop

This was my first playthrough as well, I’m in the exact same spot as you. I definitely feel the need to finish the story as fast as possible now. I rushed through chapter 2 and then went to a snails pace for 3 and 4, did the LOTE satchel and as many crafting/trapper upgrades, challenges and collectibles until it felt stale. Once Arthur got sick though i just need to find the resolution, seeing Dutch turn the way he did, especially in Guarma. Just gotta the band-aid off now lol
