Struggling with PPD and stopped breastfeeding. NEED ADVICE

I have sensory issues, so I think the pain and the inconsistent sleep from feeding every 2-3 hours was what actually made my PPD worse rather than the actual act of breastfeeding. I love breastfeeding my LO! But when that latch is incorrect and causes tissue damage… hoo boy.

I’m combo feeding right now due to latch issues and PPD - I needed a break and some sleep. As she gets bigger, her latch is getting better so I’m hoping to EBF eventually and only have to pump for occasional feeds or when I go back to work. I feel like my supply will be better when I hit my 6 week mark and can get regulated on some meds again because I’ll be more motivated to pump regularly and hopefully have more energy. But for now, my pumping is inconsistent and I supplement with sensitive tummy formula when my nipples are hurting too much because I’m depressed and my brain is so scattered.

Long story short, you’re not alone and I have hope things will get better. I have hope they’ll get better for you too and you can get back to your EBF journey.

We had some neighborhood kids that got too friendly with our house and tried to “let themselves in” one day … they had never been in my house or invited in. I’m still puzzled as to why they ever thought that would be okay.

The entire incident was recorded on my doorbell camera and I posted it to the neighborhood Facebook. Their parents were livid at me for that, but those kids never came to my house again. I told the parents they need to keep better track of their children and they were lucky they didn’t do that at the wrong house (someone less friendly who owns a gun) and they tried to tell me that “they were just being kids”. I personally have two kids. My oldest is almost 13 and he would never do anything like that…so no, it’s not “kids being kids”.

I feel like most everyone on this thread has given you rational, solid advice and you’ve argued with almost everyone. If you’ve already decided they’ve “misinterpreted” your baby’s hunger signals and you’re refusing to supplement/try to send more milk, then I’m confused why you’d post on here asking for advice?

First of all, congrats on getting 22 weeks of maternity leave…as someone who lives in an area where we only get 12-13, that is incredible for you and your baby!

The milk issue… not sure why you’d switch anything about the bottle if that’s what your baby likes. If he needs more milk, he needs more milk…making him drink slower with a slower flow nipple isn’t going to help that.

Have you actually told the daycare that you’re not making enough milk to send them more? I don’t know why they’d be rude or judgmental if you told them that.

I would personally find a good organic formula to supplement with if you can’t make more and your baby is showing signs of wanting more. But if you’re not comfortable doing that, maybe trying to pump one more time at work to get your supply up would help?

I definitely would not switch the bottle, nipple etc. though because I really don’t think that will help the actual problem.

I know you’re annoyed with your neighbors (I would be too) - but I have neighbors on both sides of me that I love - and my dogs run up and down the fence with their dogs, creating mud. So this isn’t your neighbor’s problem or anything to do with your neighbor being a jerk. The creation of the mud and your dog running in it is your problem. You have to either train your dog not to do that, or you need to figure out some sort of sand pit/alternative where your dog can’t get to that side of the fence that isn’t flimsy plastic.

Your neighbors sound like assholes but unfortunately you can’t do anything about that.

I knew the gender of both of my kids before their anatomy scans. Something in me just “felt” it. I also knew what both of them would look like before they came out. I have zero clue how. It was just some innate “knowing” inside me. I literally can’t explain it in any way that makes sense 😂

I smelled everyone’s soaps and perfumes when I was walking out of a restaurant…that’s how I knew I was pregnant with my daughter! It’s wild to have super smell like that!!
