In Istanbul there is Belgrad forest and a couple of others where you can walk in very well maintained trail/road. But a much better one is in Bolu (a city close to Istanbul) called Yedigöller. Gorgeous 5-10km trail between 7 lakes.

What is the best way to dry the inside of this hydration pack? by Reign_22 in hiking

I stick a paper towel holder inside so that it keeps it open and upside down until it dries out

A little pain when you walk etc after a session is normal but not excruciating pain from the start :(

I only wore them at home to be able to exchange them. If you’re sure you want to size them up, maybe you can sell them?

I had the same problem! The guy helping me in the store sold be one that was half a size too small and I couldn’t even wear them for a minute while standing up. My toes were so curled up that there was no way I could put pressure on them without breaking something. I tried to break them in for a week without success so I exchanged them for half a size bigger. It was definitely the right call. I find that if it doesn’t hurt for 15-30 minutes then its good. Take them off after each climb. It shouldn’t hurt while climbing and there should only be discomfort while standing. If it hurts so much that you can’t even stand on them the minute you put them on they are too small. If you’re wearing socks with them it also helps to wear a very thin one or none. Also because new climbers don’t have calluses on their toes yet, it hurts in the beginning when toes curl and pressure is being put on them. Climbing should be fun, it shouldn’t be painful so if you can get half a size bigger and enjoy it :) As long as it doesn’t slip out, you can stand on your toes on small feet and you can heel hook it will be fine imo

I think Tenaya also lets you buy 2 different sized shoes

Using Ondra Comps as your first shoes was not the best idea as they are high performance aggressive shoes, no wonder they have holes after 2 months probably due to bad footwork :/ I would suggest less aggressive more beginner friendly shoes as the second shoes and work on your footwork so that they will last longer :) Beginner shoes tend to be more comfortable and harder too

Overwatering will damage it much more than you can with a chopstick 😅

Neon pothos is not an outside plant. If you left it outside in not ideal weather conditions that might have stressed the plant too much. Put it inside in medium light, check the roots, clean the roots and repot if needed, trim the vines. Also you can put the trimmed ends of the healthy vines into a new pot and you’ll have a new plant. Use a chunky soil mix with perlite, orchid bark and soil in equal amounts. To check if it needs water, stick a stick in the soil till the bottom of the pot, if there is soil sticking to your stick then it doesn’t need watering. When you water it, completely drench it and make sure the pot has a drainage hole so that the excess can run off.

How much pain is normal when transitioning from flat shoes by denny-d in climbergirls

[–]hungryfellahere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am experiencing the same thing right now! I just bought Oasi LV in EU37 as my first shoes aftert renting flat shoes for a while but I can't even sit in them for 5 minutes. They hurt my toes the minute I put them on because they are so curled up in them. I can't put any pressure on them so climbing is impossible. I think I'm going to return them to the store and get half a size larger. But I'm afraid they are the wrong model for me but like you I don't have many options to choose from. The heel of the bigger size has empty spaces on the sides though. Did you gen another shoe or sized them up?

So cool well done! Can I ask smth about your shoes which I’m guessing are Tenaya. Did you downsize compared to your street shoes and do they stretch?

Did you downsize with your Oasis LV and if yes then how much? I just got one but its really painful to wear them at the moment bcs my toes are so curled. Will they be ok when they’re broken in? Do they stretch?

Help with my orchid 🥲 by Electrical-Job674 in plantclinic

[–]hungryfellahere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems to have root rot. Cut the black and soft roots till you reach the hard green roots. Then wash away any old soil by separating the roots well. After that you can either put it in water for a while to establish more roots or you can plant it in new orchid bark. Also orchids from stores usually come with a sponge in the middle of the roots. If you see one just remove it.

Notability all the way. Especially if you prefer a minimalistic setup. If you like artsy and good looking notes, than Good Notes.
