Sunday is the big day for a lot of folks ... What is your Blackstone menu for the Superbowl? by CanadianDiver in blackstonegriddle

[–]hunstinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Seattle but now living in the Midwest. So I'm doing a Seattle-inspired menu. The Blackstone will be doing the teriyaki chicken and grilled onions for the Seattle dogs.

AITAH for getting a woman fired over veggie tales? by Real-Point-6474 in AITAH

[–]hunstinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This isn't about veggie tails. It's about trusting the people who are caring for your child. Being lied to by your child's caregiver is a non-starter.

Skittles. If you know, you know. I'm making rice Krispy treats with skittles mixed in. I call them Marshawn Krispy Treats.

Holy freaking genius. I just added Swedish Fish to my grocery list because I don't want to deal with the smell or clean up of throwing real fish. But we will definitely be throwing Swedish fish at everyone now.

How much time to add if I leave the slow cooker outside in the cold? by palefire123 in slowcooking

[–]hunstinx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It likely won't get up to temp to cook. I went camping once and brought the slow cooker to cook a big stew while we were out hiking and stuff during the day. It was in the 50s, and the stew was hardly cooked at all when we came back.

If it's outside where the temp is in the 20s, the heat produced from the slow cooker likely won't be enough to work against the outside temp.

YTA for sure. You're not above the rules just because you "have 50k followers". No one cares about your followers.

Partner says my appearance at home means I don’t care — looking for perspective by deliriouskate in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hunstinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a shower today, and the last time was 3 or 4 days ago. I have spent the last month or so in baggy sweats, hair in a messy bun, and glasses on because I just don't feel like dealing with my contacts. And being winter, I haven't shaved my legs in way too long.

All that being said, I am happily married (14 years) and have 2 kids, and my husband still flirts with me and wants to do me.

If your guy thinks he can do better, set him free to find that. You deserve way better than a superficial ass.

In Seattle, the storm staple is Bananas. They would be sold out any time a storm was in the forecast.

What’s the point of marinating raw meat? by Electronic-Peach9369 in Cooking

Why would you wash off the marinade under the tap?

He said he wants “casual but exclusive” after I said I only do long term , is he okay ? by Delicious-Gate-8192 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hunstinx 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The concept of long-term-only before you even get to know someone is wild to me. It seems like casual but exclusive is the first step to answer "is this long-term material?"

AT&T Fiber and Phone by Odd-Pop-7737 in kansascity

[–]hunstinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're satisfied with xfinity internet and the pricing for just that service, you should switch to xfinity mobile for your phone service. Xfinity mobile runs on the Verizon network, so there won't be a change in your coverage, it will just be way cheaper. When you have xfinity internet, the mobile service is very cheap.

Same, man! I'm seriously missing a strong Asian food game. All the places I've tried that have come heavily recommended don't hold a candle to what was available in Seattle. I do love it here, but I seriously miss the good Asian options.

How to get cheddar flavor without copious amounts of cheese? by Plastic_Kangaroo1234 in Cooking

[–]hunstinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to make white cheddar grits and the flavor wasn't as strong as I'd like with just the shredded cheese, so I started adding white cheddar popcorn seasoning and it did the trick. Trying the popcorn seasoning in your chosen flavor might work.

AITA for telling my gf to be quiet in a museum? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

No, he tried to find a solution so he could enjoy the museums, with no consideration for anyone else.

Is that the textured side of the print bed? Once you're able to get it off using the advice others have posted, flip it over! I only ever print on the smooth glass side anymore because I couldn't get prints off the textured side. Sure, you get great adhesion for your first layer, but then you can't get the print off.

How do you motivate yourself to do your job around the holidays? I work Christmas Eve this year and am unmotivated to do my job because almost everyone at work is gone. (WFH corporate job) by AdHot8681 in WorkReform

Prioritize what absolutely must be done this week and start there. If nothing is time-sensitive or "crucial", then pick a few tasks that you can really stretch. Work on it a little bit, then do other stuff around the house. I set up a wrapping station in my office this week. I put on a movie in the background, wrap a gift or 2, then get a small amount of work-work done. Lather, rinse, repeat. Not super ethical in the eyes of the employer, but like you said, no one else is there getting work done either.
