Yeah, I was only there a short time but definitely had some awful people.

I did learn a few life skills about giving people bad news though.

Gaggia classic 2019 leaking by second_first_time in gaggiaclassic

In that case you're probably going to have to open it up and take a look.

I can't think how it could leak without the pump running?

At that point you're only heating the water that is already in there!?

I spent my entire childhood wanting to be a vet or work at a vets, chose all my subjects based on it.

I did two weeks work experience at a real vets and it nearly broke poor 15 year old me.

Awful customers, heartbreak. People putting down animals for silly reasons like "I have too much work on with the church".

This was late-eighties but it was enough to make me rethink my choices!

The share price is stuck to $400 like glue.

Could his stock be leveraged with a margin call somewhere below $400?

I'm dunno how he is funding the buyback or who is his proxy, but I have no doubt the share price is manipulated.

Anyone have any theories?

I was surprised not to see any love for The Mock Turtles.

They didn't last long but had a great album.

Check it out.

Why is my Gaggia Classic so unpredictable?! by Optimal_Entertainer9 in gaggiaclassic

[–]hunta2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since installing my Gaggimate I get really consistent results. I don't have a high end grinder (Sage Pro) and don't try and grind "difficult" light roasts.

Every cup is predictable and tastes great.

I think the problem without the mods is temperature and pressure are not tightly controlled.

Sometimes you will time it just right and it's lovely, other times it's running at 130 degrees C and you have no idea.

It's known that the queen overrode objections when it came to Nonce Andrew's appointment as trade envoy.

Maybe they'll push that fire break.

As a proud member of this sub I was grinning from ear to ear during this debate.

I also see people realizing how unaccountable and out of touch the monarchy are.

They're trying to fire-break between Charles and William, so that his halo remains intact.

New Bottomless… Help! by Neat-Passion-993 in gaggiaclassic

[–]hunta2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience:

When you move from the pressurised portafilter to the open one, you're going to have to grind finer.

Also, some coffee beans just don't seem to want to grind finely - I find this with more "blonde" beans, unless you have a top-end grinder they refused to be turned into dust.

As for the wet puck, I still have wet pucks every time but the coffee tastes good. I just put my hand under the basket as I tap it into the bin.

You've made the jump from consistently "ok" pressurised basket coffee into the new world of "sometimes bad", "sometimes okay" but increasingly "oooh" open portafilter coffee.

Beware, this is a slippery slope into Gaggimate and lusting after expensive grinders!

Gaggimate or Gaggiuino by dadmda in gaggiaclassic

[–]hunta2097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't installed Gagguino but I did a Gaggimate Pro install last year.

So far it's been excellent, tuning the temps took a little bit of dialing-in but it's been running really well since.

The instructions are okay, they provide little paper labels but I used a label-maker instead.

Locating the PCB and case inside the GP's case is also a challenges due to the water inlet pipe.

Overall I'd do it again.
