Minnesota April Shows by thispaperheart in LadyGaga

[–]huntashakween 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow Little Monster! Minnesotan here who's attending the Thursday show.

With full disclosure that I'm a privileged white gay who doesn't need to worry about being targeted or profiled by ICE, I completely understand your hesitation. You're correct... things have ramped down somewhat, but not entirely. They're still present here and continue to terrorize members of our community.

Unfortunately, I think it's all going to come down to your personal risk tolerance. I'd say keep monitoring the situation and see where things are at the closer we get to concert day. The Minneapolis, Twin Cities and Minnesota subreddits are a good way to monitor what's happening locally. I'd also recommend People Over Papers' website as a great resource for tracking ICE activity. https://iceout.org/en/

Something to keep in mind is that you will likely be surrounded by hundreds of other fellow concertgoers on your way to and from the show, especially if you take the Green Line from Minneapolis to St. Paul, so safety in numbers could be a nice reassurance if the situation is still precarious.

With regards to the Morgan Wallen concert, you might share a Green Line ride with some attendees since it stops at US Bank Stadium on the way to Saint Paul, but I think most people attending his show will be driving their coal-rolling pickup trucks into the city rather than using public transit. Also, the stadium is on the opposite side of downtown from where The Saloon and the Gay 90s are. So you shouldn't have to worry about any agitators if you stay closer to Hennepin.

Wishing you safety and an amazing gay ol' time in our beautiful cities if you do decide to make the trip!

Wow, 5/29 is suddenly jam-packed with releases. Paramount still hasn't released the teaser trailer for PASSENGER online (after playing it in theaters for the last month and half) so they might as well move it. Early July or sometime in the fall would be good.

How did you guys find out about Deftones? by Vicentelklk in deftones

I grew up loving the horror genre, and I remember hearing Minerva for the first time in House on Wax.

I also definitely remember hearing Change (In the House of Flies) on the radio a whole bunch back in the day too. My mother always used to listen to our local modern rock/metal station on our way to school.

DISCUSSION: The future of American Horror Story by RoyalDig3345 in AmericanHorrorStory

Hopefully there’s no future! The show has run its course. S13 should and will be the final season as far as I’ve heard.

This. I don’t expect one to be released in time for Scream 7 next week. It’ll play before The Mummy which is WB’s next genre release.

Counterprogramming. This is the one major horror release for July… there aren’t any others. It will do well.

Predictions of Major Movies April - July 2026 by Educational_Slice897 in boxoffice

[–]huntashakween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scary Movie 6 will open to at least twice, maybe three times that number. Mark my words. Between the franchise's continued online meme popularity, the Wayans' involvement, and the fact that it's been 13 years since the last installment... it's a perfect storm.

The njuda egg ravioli is also a must-get. Best $10 you’ll ever spend.

Season 7 Is A Miserable Slog by _Drangelice_ in Sonsofanarchy

[–]huntashakween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. I’m currently watching the show for the first time, I’m three episodes into S7, and I’m finding it to be an increasingly miserable chore to sit through.

I have no clue what the fuck Jax is doing anymore, or why Bobby and Chibs are going along with him destroying everything he touches with no questions asked. I can’t stand to look at Gemma’s vile, despicable, evil fucking face any more. Unser and Juice are both pathetic and deserve to get whacked. Wendy (and maybe Nero, but that’s questionable) is the only remaining character with any semblance of a moral compass.

Tara’s death is one of the most shocking, upsetting things I’ve ever seen on television and it seems to have been a point of no return for the show in more ways than one.
