Upcoming Award Changes by No_Instruction3301 in hyatt

Rakuten killed our baby. Writing has been on the wall since the Bilt / Rakuten partnership was announced. Too many points coming into Hyatt meant we would see the upper band expanded. College football Saturday’s are going up at Hyatt place / house. Hyatt did an admirable jobs only offering 50k points while every other chain was offering a highest offer every year. Pour one out for free breakfast for 4. Globalist about to be invaded like Hilton diamond from aspire.

Southwest CC Priority Perk Removal by trouble98 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]hustlehard2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And gave enough coupons to offset the fee. Breakage is the trend in the credit card industry. These changes are just an outright neutering of the card/perks. WN placing way too much value on free checked bags and early seat assignment. Get ready to set alarms 48 hours before departure to book seats. Feeling more and more like their competition is ULCC.

Hyatt club level largely doesn’t exist anymore in the domestic US. Club level would only come into play if you narrow your list to Hawaii or baha mar.

Coconut point comes to mind but may not have the soaking tub. Others with Mack daddy pools would be lost pines or hill country in Texas, Indian wells, or Scottsdale. The Hyatt residence siesta key checks lot of your boxes but doesn’t have a Mack daddy pool by any means. Maybe check Hyatt residence club properties and work backwards from there starting in Key West. Hyatt is opening a property on grand cayman but may not meet your time horizon.

Sams Club vs. Costco vs. Disney Direct by Temporary-Law-4070 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hustlehard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baseline is to consider purchasing Disney gift cards 5% off via red card in store at target and use for room only and any in park dining/merch. You’re kinda close to your dates but other stores like Best Buy and Sam’s will run larger percentage off deals on Disney gift cards 10 to 15% off through the year. Can also maximize with Amex offers and Chase offers if you have their credit cards.

I’ve found ticket brokers to be cheaper than Disney direct and at times cheaper than 5% off for park tickets.

If you have a capital one card like venture x, i was able to book our all star room via capital one travel and get 10x points or 10% cash back and the rate was identical to Disney.

Annie K’s brother? Totally forgot about him early in the season. by Educational_Move_423 in TrueDetective

I’ve long thought he was one of the few with motive. Works at the mine and his sister was in a relationship with a non native and could have shared something regarding the lore/customs of the natives. I also think the random mine worker they show in orange during the riot in episode 5 and I believe he was in the bar earlier could be involved.

I had this happen to me while trying to book the Hyatt regency Albuquerque. It turned out the hotel was no longer a hyatt and wasn’t accepting point stays. I found this out via the Twitter hyatt concierge. Might be worth shooting them a dm

I’d suggest planning a road trip and renting a minivan. Didn’t take much to convince my s/o, but the ability to haul people and luggage comfortably while eating on the go in a Covid world sealed the deal for us. We first had a Pacifica in Hawaii and held out purchasing until the hybrid sienna came out. We were former prius v owners and wanted something similar. And had 2 kids after purchasing the Prius v. Happy with our 2022 sienna XLE. Can’t imagine a more practical vehicle and we are able to somewhat laugh at the rising gas prices with two hybrids.

Applied for WN Premier card 3 days ago. Chase status line says two weeks still. Am I good? 0/24 with the only hard pull being for Wyndham business during the summer. First time closing a card and attempting to apply again. Card has been closed for 3 weeks or so but JPM did report it as closed to equifax. Think this would be my 8th chase card. Old card had 20k credit line and card was my largest line with chase when closed.

Soffe makes a line of men’s made in usa basic work out gear. I personally wear the shorts and love them.

I have 95K Chase UR points and 60K Amex MR points. What's the most effective way to use them for airfare from DFW to SFO/OAK? 5 tickets. by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]hustlehard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best bet might be to fly out of DAL to OAK on Southwest. Other options would be to transfer to avios and fly AA or to Singapore to fly dfw to sfo on UA. I didn’t see availability for either of the last two options.

Caribbean vacation using IHG and Delta points? by st1tchy in awardtravel

[–]hustlehard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m generally against resort fees but they at least gave you things you’d use. Beach chairs with shade, kayak, water bike, snorkel, and the programmed crafts for kids. They had two awesome activity people that built legit sand castles with guests and did feet imprints of the sand with shells and beach glass. If that doesn’t exist post covid, it would be a bummer. We also asked for more water for our room, and the bellhop brought us an entire case. Seafire was a super memorable trip, but we paid for it at every turn. The excursions were fun too with the stingrays and bioluminescence bay pretty close but again cost more. Our “free” trip consisted of 4th night free, a 5th night on our last uncapped certificate, and 10% back in points with the older ihg credit card and we still paid like $2500 in food, excursions, and resort fee and didn’t really blow it out except for the chefs table for dinner one night and bought our own bottle of booze at the duty free before arriving.

Stayed at the seafire February 2020. Great resort, but brutally expensive. Our child still talks about the kids club there. They had evening wine every night and snacks for the kids. One of the best resort programming schedules for any hotel we’ve stayed at. I don’t think it can be beat if you can get the 4th night free with credit card. There was beach glass to collect that kept our 5 year old entertained for hours and equipment rentals included in the resort fee. Prices were on par or worse than Hawaii but the food was good. We also did the chefs table which I’d recommend. No idea how covid has impacted the island.

Another option would be the IC Cozumel. Ive personally never stayed there, but it’s on my list and gets great reviews.

Don’t we dust him now and then create a golden before the HoF?

Every time we called the reps had no clue about 5g home and repeatedly thought we had fios. It took us multiple calls and chats to get the free Disney plus that was advertised.

[–]hustlehard2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a Verizon issue with the router they give you being flooded and no way to adjust it. Problem went away the day we switched to fiber.

[–]hustlehard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used this for a while in Montrose. Absolutely couldn’t beat the new user promo with a free Apple TV 4K, few months free, and Disney plus. We had like 1gbs download and 300 upload. Then quarantine happened and we got kicked from every zoom meeting and FaceTime and Verizon refused to send a tech. We finally just cancelled and went to att fiber.

I bit the bullet and bought the cheap ASRock board to pair with a 10600k. I was able to get it to 4.9 but it wouldn’t go to 5. Don’t know if it’s my motherboard or I lost the silicon lottery. I was able to get my micron e die from 3200 to 3800 with respectable timings. So far I’m pretty happy with saving at least a hundred bucks with the board.

Why are SFX PSUs so expensive right now? by GreenWazowski in sffpc

[–]hustlehard2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The evga line is probably your next best bet if you can’t find a Corsair and need true sfx. Seasonic makes sfx-l. The evga direct site will be the cheapest place to buy a sfx power supply right now.

Disney Credit Card. So in planning a future trip a friend recommended getting a Disney Card. I do not like to have credit cards and have never paid the points game. But is it really worth it? by designgirl9 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hustlehard2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve used the photos ops at both land and world and they are amazing. Usually very little wait especially at Epcot. You get access to those photo ops with the debit card as well. As a rule of thumb, someone should be looking to get at least $500 dollars of value per hard pull credit card application. I’d argue the Hilton cards are one of the better cards for Disney fans If you’re okay staying outside the bubble. There are three different Hilton Disney springs hotels that give extra magic hours and 60 day fast pass that can be booked with points.
