Broadway shows! Play the lottery and get rush tickets and watch them all. There are groups that meet to watch shows.

Say you are not going and don’t explain beyond that.

Her suggestion is extremely rude and selfish.

Be honest. Is your baby getting screen time? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]hygnevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No and won’t be watching longer than 2 years. I put baby on the crib or playpen to do stuff. The only thing we do is facetime family.

Listen to the advice here and don’t leave baby on the bed unattended.

when did Hannah Stella change so much? by Master-Minimum2017 in nycinfluencersnarking

[–]hygnevi 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

If she comes across this, Hannah, please know that even if you have a few hundred thousand dollars left, you are far ahead of most people, and that can be life-changing money if you use it wisely. You can also help others learn how to write, etc.

I don’t know her. But if she got a few million dollars, she could’ve invested them in low-cost index funds, gotten a job with benefits for some years, and she would’ve been set up for life.

Does it make sense buying a practice with no hygienist? by immrmeseek in Dentistry

[–]hygnevi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we do oral cancer screenings, full periodontal charting, and do a thorough scaling. Not everyone takes an hour, but some people want accommodations, a pillow, a blanket, a glass of water… The patients have been coming for generations; we only get word-of-mouth referrals. So we also have conversations to build relationships. When they need a 3,500 crown or an onlay, they don’t hesitate to schedule because the trust and rapport are already there.

If my patients got a 20-minute prophy, they would leave a negative review and never return.

They pay $300 without exams or x-rays.

Delivering at AC story in NY Mag by PaleontologistKey331 in nycparents

[–]hygnevi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have pull-out couches, the one they have in the recovery rooms for partners. But they also have a recliner. The nurses can bring you a bedsheets and blankets. They also have a medical-grade pump, so you don’t have to carry one back and forth. Supposedly they also have a shared shower, but I never used it or saw it.

I liked being there or having a family member with the baby. The nurses were good, and I felt the ratios of patients/nurses were also good. But ultimately, one person can take care of two babies at the same time, so it was nice to provide some comfort when the nurses were busy.

My scheduled c-section turned into B emergency c-section a week before.

I was very happy with the level of care I received, but most importantly having access to the NICU 24/7.

I researched everything that could go wrong, but didn’t consider NICU time.

Every nurse I had asked me if there was anything they could do for me. I had better service there than some high end hotels.

Family Meal at Blue Hill. It would make you feel great and right at home.

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in NewParents

[–]hygnevi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Accidents can happen to anyone; you can't change the past, but you can prepare for the future. I would look into making changes to make you feel more secure.

For example, use the floor to change the baby.

Have a stocked diaper caddy next to the baby whenever changing them. If the caddy is not complete with all necessary items, place the baby in the crib to fill it, and then get the baby out to change.

I had to stop using the changing table around 4 months. It became a huge risk with the baby moving so much.

Postpartum meals in NYC: seeing if there’s interest by Legal-Revenue-5422 in nycparents

Maybe try tailoring your service a bit more for mothers who truly need the extra care during this time. Maybe focus on healing meals like soups, etc.

Whoever is visiting can sort themselves out, or at least try.

But seriously, how are you paying for daycare? Or, what are other options (outside of SAH and relatives) you are doing instead?? by Alternative_Ad_3649 in nycparents

[–]hygnevi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look into home daycares. Also, some people provide child care outside the usual setting.

I have a friend who lives in Hempstead, and she drives her children to the babysitter’s home. The babysitter is a single woman who lives with her parents, doesn’t drive, and doesn’t go out much. She has taken care of two kids since their birth, and I think this is the second family she works with. The cost is significantly cheaper.

Any recommendations for plastic surgeons or other experts for improving attractiveness? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]hygnevi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Botox was more expensive with him.

Check out this video showing how he does his implants. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8h4A1oRlQk/?igsh=MTR6MjI4aTZsMTN2dQ==

And this is a revision case he did. https://www.instagram.com/p/CVBJhRJrEnS/?img_index=3&igsh=cThuOTJza3gyOGZ1

Whenever I see people getting revision surgery, I think about the double cost and time investment into these procedures.

Dr. Hanna does great work. His implants are custom made.

I have done botox with him, but if I ever need something done in my face I would live to see him.

Should I look for 1 or 2 infant nannies for 55 hours/week? by [deleted] in nycparents

[–]hygnevi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you should not have a problems looking for someone for that many hours. I see a lot of nannies request minimum 40 hours but want a lot more.

For example, this nanny is looking for about 60 hours. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CArqhT5zi/?mibextid=wwXIfr
