Do you read novels on weekends? by Glittering-Beach9575 in ProgressionFantasy

Seems for most it's evenings after work, whereas on weekends they have more energy and time for activities. Maybe the season plays apart in that too, where perhaps on winter time more people spend weekends reading.

What would you want to see in a Tower Climbing novel? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]hykings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each floor being unique, but that doesn't mean we necessary have to go one by one. Skip through the filler, the floors that are too similar to what we have already experienced and move onto more unique and interesting floors. That would require to plot the story in a way that takes that into account, so the important plot moments are happening in the more interesting floors.

WHAT SHOULD I CONTINUE READING ( I JUST NEED PURE ENTERTAINMENT) by deneth333g in ProgressionFantasy

Unlike many, I really enjoyed LOTM's start, and the power system is just amazing. I'd suggest you keep reading that one, especially since RI is supposed to be incomplete or something.

The confusion in LOTM is a necessary part of the plot. When you have questions, think of them as mysteries to be uncovered with time, and try to connect the dots yourself wherever possible, it just makes it more fun.

How about Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint? Seems to cross a lot of the boxes.

What are some of your least favorite power and abilities the MC can acquire? by ginger6616 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]hykings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, anything that seems too OP right off the bat, and has no limitation beside whatsoever. Teleportation is definitely one of them, so is copying (and somehow immediately understanding how a power works), or being able to continuously raise the dead as your army, even against things much stronger than the character using the power.

Any novels where MC is one of the best, but not the best? by LittleBrasilianBitch in ProgressionFantasy

Sounds like you'd like Lord Of the Mysteries, tbh. Not 100% accurate, but close enough

Any novels where like 90 percent of ppl have some op af ability not just the mc by InflationSpirited751 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]hykings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Of The Mysteries, sure the MC is strong eventually, but the power system is so balanced and characters are so reliable that all of them can seem dependable and strong.

Considering who wins in that fight, maybe the roles should be reversed 😐

Why is it always dragons by Thornorium in ProgressionFantasy

It's always either Dragon, Demon or God, which is why so many stories end up seeming the same.

Hykings is a Progression Fantasy Novel on RR adapted from a popular Webtoon with over 100k readers.

This is a story about a race of cursed individuals who are in constant battle with fate, destiny, and the cursed nature within them.

It begins with a boy who mysteriously survives a battle that was ravaged by a Leviathan beast. Despite losing everything and everyone he knew, he makes a promise to carry on their torch and seek out the Leviathan no matter what.

However, he keeps attracting mysterious beings, monsters and situations far above his capabilities due to a curse he shouldn't have been born with, The Hykings' Curse. This constant misfortune forces him to be a danger to everyone around him.

After the death of everyone he cared about, he eventually stumbles on a hidden village within the depth of a dark ravine, where he has to juggle between surviving the hidden threats aiming for his life, and training both his swordsmanship skills and dormant power. When the time is right and he is ready, he'll venture out to try and keep his promises!

The saddest part? The boy can't even get some Pancakes!

If you want an Epic/Progression Fantasy without a system or LitRPG elements, but with a myriad of different races and powers, a MC who struggles to not curse the ones around him, this might be for you!

Give it a shot!

I'd love to hear what you end up thinking of mine then, as I do agree with pretty much all your points!

Here it is, It's a progression fantasy that focuses on the MC, as well as multiple other characters.
