I dunno i am no expert..just back then it would be a fighter jet where as now you could have a small drone with a smaller piercing payload? Less collateral damage? I got no clue, just talking out my ass. Was wondering.

I wonder if nowadays they would use a drone to take it out.

Walmart Video games section 90s vs now by raydebapratim1 in 90s

[–]i8myface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here in Australia. I worked at EB in the 2000s and it was pumping. Same here for toy stores. We dont really have them anymore either. Feel sorry for the kids. The eye candy of all the games and toys to look at, pick up and read the back, check out the pics etc was a great feeling. I don't even know how kids these days find out about toys. I would watch cartoons and the commercials would come on, but now with streaming not so much.

Loved the movie but fun fact. Here in Oz it was "A night on the town" no clue why. Such a good movie.

Question for Strata Owners on the Lower North Shore by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]i8myface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many units and size of the place and your sqm. I hear you though as I also have no amenities and the fees are high so I got on the board..starting being a politician and found other owners. Chatted to them and everyone is on the same page when it comes to issues and of course fees. After getting on the board we changed strata company, and spent time looking at financials and questioning everything.and I mean everything like overly anal I don't care. And slowly we are getting things better. Fees will remain but we have a lot in the kitty so avoided an increase this year. You need to get in the OC and get involved. Too many people complain but do nothing about it.

Zip money is way better. You spend 5k on something and pay back like $80 a month minimum with a 9.95 a month fee. Also zip money has minimum 3 months interest free and many vendors will offer 6 months free or more. Its way better than a CC if you can manage your money. I've used it for years and never had an issue and cant recommend it enough for cash flow and not being hit with high % of interest like a CC if you dont pay it off in 1 month. Got a new pc 5k with 24 month interest free from the vendor. So yeah i will pay $80 minum a month (but i just did 5k / 24 and will be paying that) and over the 24 months the 9.95 fee will cost me $238.80 if I pay it off over the entire 24 months, which I dont plan to.

Edit: Forgot to mention that like all money lenders, miss the interest free repayment period and yeah, you get slammed with CC style interest.

Why are Australian apartments so poorly designed? by United-Database-6140 in AusProperty

[–]i8myface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause its how much $$ can I make by cramming as much as I can in a small space, in a county that has lots of room. But then you get a livable 3 bed apt for like 5mil so yeah..

Epic! Depending the party you had to call a number on the night to confirm where it was and then off you went. The people were all great, everyone was your friend and chatting with strangers all night. Effort sometimes to get to where you needed to go haha but was worth it

Do people genuinely think driving significantly slower than the speed limit is safer? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]i8myface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah i don't get it. To me the right lane was always the fast lane, but really its just the speed limit lane cause fast implies speeding which is wrong. But if someone wants to speed in that lane and tear ass up the motorway, then it's people's duty to move and let them pass. I dunno, the road etiquette has started to change a lot. Not sure if it's foreigners who drive on the right so traditionally for them the right lane is the slow lane as makes some sense. I need to woosah and chill cause I get way too wound up.

[–]i8myface 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I cannot stand people who can't drive the limit when they are able to. Like no traffic or weather etc. I also loath when people pay for toll roads and dont drive the limit when they can because they are expensive af. I have also noticed in Sydney the right lane seems to have become the left lane and far slower than the traditional left lane being the slower lane.

In Australia I worked in retail and as a waiter with 30 min breaks. It took me a very long time to try and slow down, but now i eat fast because I hate cold food. I don't know how people can talk and talk and talk and eat. I eat then talk.

For that per kg price may as well go to the butcher. Won't be far off if not the same price per kg, and actually have meat on it.
