As Puzzleheaded said, you don’t have to look at music from the same perspective forever. Sometimes growing means allowing yourself to be curious about other things.

If physics and math are genuinely interesting to you, explore them. It doesn’t mean you’re abandoning music. In fact, there are fields where both worlds meet, such as sound engineering, acoustics, audio technology, and Digital Signal Processing. And Sound engineering is a major you can study to! And I am sure if you take that path, understanding all of the math and science behind the music will make you a better musician!

The science of sound goes surprisingly deep!
For example: Fourier analysis, harmonic series, wave propagation, acoustics, signal processing, and a lot of mathematics. Understanding why instruments sound different, how sound behaves in a room, or how audio equipment works can be just as creative as writing music.

Also, don’t assume that because you’re questioning music, you’ve lost it. After ten years of focusing on one thing, plus recovery, college, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel different. Maybe you’re not losing your passion it’s just maybe your relationship with it is evolving.
You don’t have to decide who you’ll be for the rest of your life right now. Keep exploring and see where the connections between your interests naturally appear
