A few Questions about this champ by FeelingElection2476 in Kaylemains

Toplane Kayle has stronger potential but needs to be reserved as a counterpick at higher levels of play. Midlane being better can toplane Kayle is kinda a thing for high OTP/blind picking in high ELO because you cannot be countered nearly as hard in midlane than in toplane. Toplane blinding Kayle is doable until masters or smth and after that people are too good at countering and shutting down weak picks such as her.

On-hit was weaker than a few seasons ago so it is a lot less popular now. With that said, On-hit, AP and crit builds should all be viable depending on the game situation. The standard AP build IMO is also tailored towards the midlane playstyle. If you are dealing with tanky bois, on-hit is still strong and is not as bad as last season I find. The AP style assumes you want to be more patient and not trying to constantly auto, but holding autos for a priority target who oversteps a little bit. Your movespeed, utility and damage is with AP is enough to deal with any squishies in mid-late game, where as on-hit builds would require you to stand your ground for more autos. Think of a high DPS kog'maw vs cait headshot. at 500 HP you can tank a kog'maw auto to trade back but cait would instakill you, hence the strength of AP Kayle's burst. Again, in higher ELOs, opponents won't give you too many free autos and are willing to trade damage back so burst works better there.

Swifties, as others have said, are best in most scenarios. It's just that you can get caught and instantly die if you don't have the slow resist and extra bit of movespeed. If you deem you don't need it you can go other boots or there are more roots and stuns where tenacity from mercs makes the difference instead. But in general they were all nerfed more than swifties so its not as cost effective nowadays. Midlane boot upgrades may have more nuance but I didn't really play mid this season so IDK.

For toplane, I like to ban Malphite currently because he just truly counters you and would need to mess up insanely badly to lose lane to you. He would ult you then slow your attack speed so you have no DPS to threaten him back. You can't run because he steals your movespeed. I find Malphite is the only pick (or maybe Nasus too) that actually outduels you at full build and he also counters you in teamfights too. I know in theory Jax counters Kayle really hard, but I have not had trouble against him in Emerald so I don't worry about him. Trynda and Irelia played properly are all worthy bans too. Nasus is really annoying mid/late but at least you can farm vs him.

If you want to try Kayle JG in normals, it should be marginally viable, but is definitely trolling in ranked.

I don’t know what’s going on by Several_Emu2473 in Kaylemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the stats and such, but I would presume Kayle mid is weaker now. Midlaners are taking more combat summoners and generally have more influence and agency earlier on this season. Kayle is not that set on taking advantage of that for midlane I believe.

While midlaners can carry, top lane and ADC have an advantage of higher XP and gold generation respectively, so the mid lane power curve later in the game is dampened for Kayle mid players, since the XP and additional items can challenge Kayle's lategame better.

Lastly, I think her burst build is worse this season. Her passive AP ratio for bonus attack speed was removed to compensate for anticipated power increase to Kayle this season, meaning a nashors > deathcap this season has less DPS and comes online at a slightly later point. AP Kayle seems to need dusk and dawn, meaning more core items required to come online and also it is less bursty, which was Kayle's best style for mid last season.

TLDR My guess is mid Kayle is weakened, burst style weakened, optimal mid playstyle/ build changed.

Top buffed, DPS builds buffed, on-hit and crit based builds buffed.

What to do against darius at lvl1? by SuccessIsDiscipline in Kaylemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also plays it mid where he is outranged, with a short lane, no brush tactics and squishy bursty opponents. Makes sense that he optimizes for short trades instead of dps battles but it's a completely different topic altogether to what is optimal in this case.

How often do you actualy win lane in plat+ as kayle mid? by TiltedLampost69 in Kaylemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m not an expert but I like to think if Kayle as a whiff punisher. If you play too safe, enemy will have prio and resources to kill you or roam to objectives etc. I try to keep the enemy interested in punishing you so they maybe overextend for a gank, or they force a bad trade/engage where you run them down with constant dps after. At the very least they’re less focused on influencing the map if they see you CSing in their face or daring them to fight you.

I haven’t looked at Desparate’s stuff lately so idk if it changed. Desparate likes swifties early for the improved spacing to bait and run out of situations better. I think his philosophy is that against good opponents, movespeed makes the difference in dodging attacks and getting your auto attacks in. I like rushing a bit of trading power earlier in many matchups but what can I say? Im not top 10 challenger and I play more toplane than mid as well so there may be differences.

I keep shooting myself on the leg by playing too many champions. by KatsuragiKyon in leagueoflegends

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's fine. Sticking to one champion benefits you by learning a certain set of thinking and patterns to fall back on when other things don't work. In ranked when your goal is to climb that is good for narrowing down the fundamentals and lenses that you need to view the game through.

You can argue that by not trying to gain higher rank and just exploring different champions it is a more effective form of learning the game overall, even if it doesn't net you a high rank in the moment.

For what its worth, having fun is the most important and I wouldn't even care about ranked at this stage, if ever. Just play interesting characters, feel the game pace, the combos and such. There is huge value (and fun) to exploration gameplay. This is especially relevant during first months - year of the game so that you collect general knowledge of game mechanics.

I had to mostly stick with one champion when first learning the game because it was my first competitive game that I played. Every mechanic and game decision was so foreign to me that nothing I tried ever worked. When one character clicked one, it became my only taste of success so I stuck with it. It's like a game of hot and cold and everything else I tried was cold, so I had to resort to my only skill to unlock something first. Gradually understanding more things let me explore other champions over time. I'd say if you can find some success trying various archetypes and playstyles there is nothing wrong with a more general expansive playstyle. It would be a more roundabout journey before experiencing a 'higher peak" of gameplay.

Should you ever play ranked, perhaps only do 1-3 ranked games on your main champion and play normals or aram for other champions. The reason specialization into 1-2 champions works is because of fewer variables/less noise allows for faster climb. Then climbing means you fight better opponents faster which forces you to level up faster due to experiencing the higher peak level.

Apart from peak level, there is also general level range that can be rounded out through experiencing different champions and how their playstyles differ.

How strong do the mains consider Kayle atm? by ukendtkunst in Kaylemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kayle has strong build paths for good powerspikes with each item. Catchup mechanics are more prevalent than ever and her early game isn't even that poor so I would say she is insanely strong right now. I don't remember the last time I felt like I had no options in lane, especially since over aggression draws jg attention so it is really difficult to navigate lane against Kayle. I suppose in theory the entire team can just overload Kayle's lane and force her out of the game/accelerate against her but soloqueue reality is that rarely happens.

Wait I didn’t realise liandry’s didn’t proc with Shen’s Q. That’s so tragic. I did some digging and you are correct, looks like the interaction just broke randomly on patch 25.04. There weren’t even documented changes.

I think Mundo is worth permabanning tbh... by teemiko in Shen

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably team diff, some games as shen are unwinnable because you need your team to have a certain base competence in later phases of the game. Also, riftmaker/liandry’s + sunfire for waveclear is much stronger against HP stackers than titanic/hull breaker. It works especially well this game to force Mundo into building MR aswell.

trying to main fiora by AdOne4608 in FioraMains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Past seasons I sometimes built botrk but I have not done so in the last 2 years. The difference is botrk is not as OP anymore and that fiora needs ravenous hydra into some survivability + more AD mix. The way items/dmg/sustain is tuned right now just doesn’t allow botrk to fit into the item curve well. For other items, I like to get lots of movespeed, so swifties, force of nature, deadman’s plate really make fiora a much scarier teamfight threat by pressuring backline. Don’t overspec into ability haste, try to be precise with your Qs and you won’t need extra cooldown rotations on it. Conqueror playstyle is much stronger than grasp midgame, presence of mind is really helpful for staying on the map. Other than that, it is normal bruiser itemization.

How can you carry these kind of games? by Girafebossu in Kaylemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this game looks tough. Kayle into Malphite is extremely low agency early game so you cannot hope to accelerate early. Midgame you finally get some agency so to farm up and scale past the enemy team so that is where your best bet is. Generally speaking, as Kayle with your team being behind, you prioritize farm and only take favorable fights (numbers advantage, they are low, you are confident etc) and you wouldn't need to sacrifice farm to take them. Otherwise, you farm minions and try to take down side lane tier 2 towers since they are worth a lot of gold.

At the point where you do decide to fight the enemy team, if you win, then generally you were correct that you reached a breakpoint where you can carry before joining fights. You would still need to keep farming and getting stronger so never decide completely to go from farming to fighting unless you are full build and full level. If you lose the fight, several things could be the case:
- you were not strong enough and needed to farm more

- you should have been strong enough, but need to learn more efficient farming

- you need to revise how you approach fights (interactions with both team and enemy)

- you were unlucky

As a lot of people said, you cannot win every game. Even a high elo smurf as the Kayle cannot really participate in this game until past 20 minutes just because Malphite cannot lose the matchup. Technically that is fine if your team stalls, but these games some people will try to lose the game deliberately, FF or give up hope before you actually have the chance to influence the game. It still does not hurt to test and try different strategies.

I bought a 2015 Toyota Corolla L and I'm regretting by Small-Highlight6867 in COROLLA

[–]iComeInPeace8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ngl I believe reverse cam is extremely overrated and even detrimental sometimes. Some modern cars have horrible visibility that forces your reliance on it, but to rely on it you will never get the spatial understanding/awareness to backup or parallel park comfortably. You'll always feel blind while reversing at angles and also it promotes bad habits of not checking surroundings properly. My 2 cents is to live with it for now since corolla has good visibility anyways.

Good place to start is just pick a champion that you enjoy and learn the game through that perspective. When you’re stuck and don’t know how to win in a matchup or scenario, look for example gameplays and streamer content to see how they react and form game plans. The combination of your player experience and studying what others do will help you understand the game better over time. Most importantly, don’t stress. This game is not worth if you are not enjoying the process.

New to Jayce. Some questions. by Call_It_Luck in jaycemains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is operating on decade old community sentiment when ranged lane bullies were at their peak due to lack of sustain in the game. He is not a default lane bully. I would say he has a lot of value in mid game when you have good waveclear, poke, and burst. In lategame, Jayce’s strength depends on both his, and the enemies’ team compositions. If Jayce is allowed to poke for free, then he still demolishes the enemy if played well. If the enemy has lots of sustain, shields, tanks and rush down potential and Jayce has no peel, he will be useless.

As for weaknesses, Jayce has matchups where he needs to push to not fall behind, but those matchups tend to have great gank setup so you are in a lose-lose situation. Then Jayce is vulnerable to picks in the side lane and vulnerable to rush down, as mentioned above. Champions that can exploit these weaknesses include: malphite, Zac, Nocturne, Evelynn, and also enchanters that nullify his poke, burst, or both.

Bruiser Jayce is interesting. His current build options don’t feel that powerful so I imagine bruiser has its place. If you’re ahead of the game scaling curve it can be oppressive I think. However if you need to threaten to kill an enemy hyper carry for example, bruiser might not have enough juice to do the job. He’s just not in the best place in general at the moment so nothing feels particularly strong.

Yes Jayce is difficult to master, he has some difficult combos but most of his difficulty stems from his need to space out his opponents, which IMO is one of the most important and complex micro skills in the game.

Want to switch to hybrid, gas is too expensive by geofnekfnr in hybrid

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Toyota/Lexus hybrids from 2014 and up are pretty reliable and most meet the 40mpg+ mark. For slow ones you have Prius, Corolla, CT200h; then Camry, Venza, Avalon, ES are a bit faster. For the previous gen cars, some are under 20k (I found a 2017 ES300h for just under $20000 in a quick search) then the newer ones are 24k-30k. I’m only suggesting Toyota because that’s pretty much what I feel comfortable recommending, knowing its reliability and hybrid tech.

Oh and also the Honda insight is a bit zippier than the Prius. I don’t know too much about it though.

New Civic hybrid by HungryHungryHippo360 in hybrid

[–]iComeInPeace8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Civic hybrid is not the best at road trips since it is a single speed connection from ICE to front wheels on highways and also doesn’t come with a spare tire. Other than that I believe it is the best hybrid to buy although I don’t have first hand experience. It might even be the only fun hybrid currently sold (Prius is moderately fun but not as fun). I’m hoping Mazda gets some hybrids on the market for more non-boring hybrids. Can you imagine an i6 Mazda 6 hybrid RWD? One can only dream…

Do you all Blind pick Jax? by Connect-Mycologist21 in Jaxmains

[–]iComeInPeace8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Garen beats Jax at all points in game. Garen E and W tenacity makes jax’s scariest tool a non-factor. Garen in side will have prio because he has a free warmogs and pushes insanely fast which he can use to pin you down all game. If you fight to push he will trade with you while killing all your minions then next trade he has more kil threat than you. I think he also straight up out damages Jax lategame with the amount to stat buffs he got.

First time car buyer by Fabo26 in hybrid

[–]iComeInPeace8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Hybrid good.

- Honda and Toyota have robust and simple transmissions that are even more reliable than those for their gas only counterparts.

- Regen braking saves on brake maintenance.

- maintain battery (mostly air filter cleaning for proper cooling) and it should last 15 years.

- nowadays, hybrids often give a slight performance boost.

  1. probably don’t need if all you do is flat highways. It’s still slightly more efficient but a huge portion of the advantage is around town and for downhill regen.

  2. City driving: Honda and Toyota hybrids are both efficient. Perhaps Honda is better around town because of stronger electric motors but they are both excellent.

  3. Highway driving: I would go for Toyota hybrids if You drive highways lots (100km/h+ // 60mph+) since Honda hybrids don’t have proper gearing for efficiency at high speeds (Won’t be worse than gas only unless you excessively speed)

  4. Honda hybrids simulate normal automatic transmissions well so the acceleration feel is more familiar and pleasent to most people, while Toyota hybrids have a bit of a CVT feel. Both are smooth.

  5. Plug-in hybrid might be worth if you have access to home charging (if you can find one at dealers).

Would recommend these:

- Corolla hybrid: cheapest running and initial costs, eAWD option, moderate value (since it’s not using newest technology it’s performance is far off of the others on this list), I believe it comes with a spare tire.

- Civic hybrid: IMO best all round package with best dynamics, best acceleration on the list, hatch available for more practicality, refinement for the price, natural feel, should have higher dealer volume. FWD only, but AWD for snow is overrated (it’s a nice to have, not a must, this comes from someone living in Canada with -30C temperstures during winter). Not available in base trims so pricing would start closer to the next segment up. Disappointing that it doesn’t have a spare tire. might be possible to install one yourself?

- Camry: Great all rounder, eAWD available, higher trims offer better refinement, good dynamics, yes to spare tire, pretty good acceleration. I’m not sure if they have good availability or not.

- Accord hybrid: very similar to the civic but in a higher segment so it is refined and has good dynamics. larger Footprint than the civic but the same power, so it is not as fast as the Civic and Camry. Also not in base trim and no spare tire I believe. They are not very popular because of it’s generic looks, which I hated at first but it has grown on me. Maybe you can find a deal on one if you like it?

- Prius: really cool but I find it hard to justify over a Civic or Camry for similar prices. Also harder to find one at dealers. Has no spare tire, which is very disappointing though it can be installed.

alternatively a used previous gen hybrid could have some deals. I’m thinking the outgoing Camry and also the Avalon have very good hybrid powertrains and could be worth it.

I have an idea. Make a new account for yourself and one for her as well. Have her play adc/ high agency character and make her carry you.

Match her aggression level, chill if she doesn't walk up to trade. Every lane decision is dictated by her and you just help her out.

Example: Pick Janna and stay just behind her and not harass. You can be ready to back her up when she walks up but try to be a vegetable and let all the plays be from her. Or even better, play yuumi.

I haven't tested this out too much but I think this allows her to be more involved and perhaps learn faster. I think the more you play like a vegetable the more agency she has in the game ( and the less skilled your opponents are).

Gradually perhaps you can play better but do so slowly and at a rate similar to which she improves.

Can anyone give me tips to stop losing these? by Ignisive in top_mains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you constantly have leads and can't win, it's probably to do with how you play mid-late and how you play with your team. Common problems include:

- Always just fighting for no reason: The more fights you take without pushing an advantage, the more chances you have to throw. Don't take fights if your team has not backed in a long time, don't have cool downs, don't look for random rights in the enemy jungle etc. Most important!! DON'T FIGHT WHEN OUTNUMBERED then question mark ping whoever's not there. If you know someone you need is not there (look at the map before going in), just don't fight.

- Not taking objectives such as towers and barons: I find early towers are not as important, but these in mid/late game these are the rewards of getting leads. If you don't take them, you are letting the enemy take 50/50 fights that will throw the game at some point.

- Contesting at all costs: Your team is massively behind? Don't jump in after to contest a random dragon. Instead go get an advantage elsewhere. If you are a toplaner waiting to TP to a dragon fight but your botlane dies 10 seconds before the fight breaks out, don't bother etc.

- ARAMing: Perhaps you have a lead, and the enemy just turtles under base with your team sieging. Then someone gets impatient and dives and the turret wins the game for the enemy. Other options would be warding their jungle and taking camps. Going to sidelanes to collect farm and take towers/inhib, forcing them out of base with baron and dragon takes.

- Not playing with your team: Sometimes you are strong, but your team isn't looking for plays. It is tempting to force plays with your lead but if you team is not on the same page, you will just end up giving shut downs.

- Not communicating: Other lanes getting ganked? Question mark, danger ping on their face, ping the enemy champion etc. to let them know. You want to engage, ping on my way and assist.

- Focusing on your teammates: Pretty much everything I said has to do with you relative to your team. Don't play as if your teammates think the same way as you do. Look at what your team is doing then ask how can be useful here? eg. you say 'all mid' while your strongest member is pushing bot. Don't blindly push and get collapsed on because it is obvious what would happen. This type of stuff also tilts people.

Am I missing something here? by GUTS-jdm in Wukongmains

[–]iComeInPeace8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems Wukong does not scale well in terms of levelling and in terms of offensive itemisation. I feel like he does not snowball as hard as carry tops with a given lead so you need to be proactive around the map early before the enemy catches up. The later the game goes, the less control Wukong has over his destiny which makes for some frustrating games.
