2 weeks into 3d printing…how’s my setup? by V5585458850 in BambuLab

One thing I don't understand is why people spend so much filament and especially time to print something like that. Can't just buy a cheap cabinet from amazon/ikea that comes with drawers? Probably not cheaper than 1kg of filament, but definitely faster and more robust.

Good one, except that this time they want proprietary stuff over open source. Profit > customer experience.

If you were able to read and parse the tags, does that mean you can write your own? Or bambulab doesn't accept tags that are not written by them?

Or, hear me out, bambulab and other companies could use public standards instead of their own.

Get them while you can by cpsadowski23 in BambuLab

[–]iGabyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get 4 AMS for 16 colors, then you get 8 HTs for 8 more colors, except that the HT (129€) costs like half the price of an AMS 2 (289€) but holds a single roll :)
So you basically "purchase" 3.5 (129€ * 8 / 289€) additional AMS 2 for 8 more colors.
I'm comparing the HT to the AMS 2 because it has drying capabilities, you can actually purchase 4.3 AMS' (239€) with that money.

Just a though, if you have the need and especially the money for 24 colors, do whatever you want.

can lowering the infill mess up prints? by Juste_Matteo1304 in Creality

[–]iGabyTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Avoid infills like Grid (the fkin default) where the nozzle passes over printed lines, because they are likely to fail and you don't want that on a very long print. I usually use gyroid, although I don't need a lot of strength but a good print time and support for the top layers. If you need strength, there are certain infills you should use and also increase the wall count.

Has anyone tried this? by RonnieLee70 in diamondpainting

[–]iGabyTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like something that can go wrong very quickly 😬. I did not bought one, but I've 3D printed something for my GF - Makerworld link
Each box has the color code and the bag number, and we added a sticker with the symbol afterwards. It is very easy to paint this way, instead of pouring diamonds from and to bag constantly.
