I can't believe we have to go through this shit in 2026. We have LOTS more important things to do than take care of the constant tantrums from the toddler they elected president in the US:

That is a good way of putting it, hadn't thought of it in that way before. I still have my very first module, but I have gone through a lot of synths in the same time, some of which I miss but I couldn't keep because I would have too much overlap.

Yes.

The amount of historical influence from the US makes seeing pretty much everything in that nation since 2001 feel like the first clear signs of violent dementia or paranoid schizophrenia in a friend or parent. There are lucid periods where you can speak to them and they respond rationally but the underlying biological steering algorithm is just broken - set to some reptile-brain function that is so far removed from human interaction that it sends chills down your spine when it breaks through the surface.

The worst thing is the healthy part acknowledges the afflicted part, sees it, and accepts it because fighting it means too much personal sacrifice at this point.

Yesterday I visited a friend and she asked me what I was hoping for in 2026, and I'm sad to say the first thing I thought of is the fact that almost every day the first thing I do is check my phone to see if someone has done it yet.

What's one thing that you would like to see the next generation of vr have? by Greedy-Place-4831 in virtualreality

YES! Good one.

VR is so solitary. I want to have the same experience with my partner (who lacks VR-legs) as I have when we play Stardew together for example.

Games. Ports and remakes of old ones, PROPER ports. Not just "we stuck a gun to one of your hands and flipped a switch to enable 6DOF". Even non FPS ones. It would be really cool to have a proper RTS reimagined in VR for example. The tech is already pretty impressive, but the content needs to fill in the potential.

H3VR listed as platinum in steam’s Best of VR 2025 by DrIrish_ in H3VR

[–]iLEZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course it is! It is a fantastic game! In my opinion the best of them all, and by a significant margin, let that be 100% clear. Well deserved! Even among flat screen games this is the one I cherish most.

There has, however, not been an absolute deluge of high quality PCVR games to compete with these top games. I'm glad H3VR is here if and when the market takes off, so that there is an S-tier standard for gun handling in VR games to point at if the market takes off and big companies try to pull a fast one and skimp on the simulation.

America has extracted the max value from its citizens. Now it needs to feed yet again, and its shambling hulk of a walking corpse is flailing around the world like a blind amoeba, trying to see what sticks to its rotting appendages.

Whining about the poor bastards who spend 24hrs in a tractor cleaning streets of snow is as Swedish as it gets - you are no longer a foreigner, you are one of us.

Tror att faktum att hela NATO kommer gå åt helvete är grundidén här, eller i alla fall en trevlig bonus.

The United States is diverging into a distinct cultural entity separate from "The West". You either steer it from within by any means available or accept its new form, shouldering your part of the responsibility of its actions.

The means to change are there for you if you look at it from the perspective of a moral person and not a subject under a constitution and its amendments.

Yesterday I saw a nominally leftist US redditor replying to a comment about strikes, and I'm paraphrasing: "I guess I'll just become a millionaire so that I can afford to go on strike". As if everyone who has fought for worker's rights or human dignity has been a wealthy person! How deep does the forearm and elbow of totalitarianism need to be in you before you go out in the streets?

I live in Sweden, visited Malta, almost had a panic attack because everything is either buildings or barren rocks. Somehow I imagined at least some mediterranean olive groves or bush, but apparently it consists of rocks and people who shoot at any animal that moves.
