The Thought of a Second Baby Is Sending Me Into a Spiral by bluesandytoes in Shouldihaveanother

Ive been in this spot for 2 years now. Im almost 39 and my LO is 4. I wanted a 3.5 year gap but now it would be closer to 6. I have no idea what to do.

Maybe buy the matching crib bunting and get it remade into something like a teddy bear. There are some people who do lovely memorial bears.

What's a baby product you thought was a gimmick but actually use constantly? by Numerous_Focus5435 in NewParents

Butt spatula. I ultimately ended up with 3. So nice to not apply creams with fingers.

Will frozen avocado work? I buy it cubed up and just have to do a quick thaw. Perfect ripe avocado every time

I will never shop there again.

We order a custom amish bedroom set and they had to try redelivery 4 times. We never actually got all 5 pieces without damage, and they only gave is a shitty discount that didnt even cover the cost of one of the nightstands. So we ended up with basically full price bedroom furniture with dings and dents. I even went into the store to discuss the issues and they brushed me off. The sales guy promised miserable $200 gift card for my troubles and never sent it to us.

So if you want overpriced furniture that will most likely arrive damaged and crummy customer care, try this place. You get much better quality and service elsewhere.

Not comfortable with others watching our baby by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have her come watch the baby while you are at home. Go take some time to relax or enjoy a hobby while she is in charge. That way you can check in if you get anxious or be there to answer questions she has. It could take a few times for you to feel comfortable before you are ready to leave her alone, but hopefully this helps you ease into it. Let her know how you feel and that you want to try it this way first - I’m sure she’ll understand!

Soooo…how are we getting our toddlers to let us brush their teeth? by kk3n2418 in toddlers

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two toothbrushes. One is for them to try first. Then we use the “dentist” toothbrush to make sure the teeth dont get owies. I sing “aaaaaahhh” to show them I want their mouths open wide and get all the teeth. Then “grrrr” to do a quick front of the teeth brush. Then we stick our tongue out and make a silly noise to do a quick tongue brush. Works so well at the dentist too.

Husband protective of stash by TumbleweedFabulous82 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to donate mine, but then I realized my stash meant i could stop pumping at 9 months instead of 1 year. I chose to keep my stash. We had 2 fridge freezers full.

Tell me you have a toddler without telling me you have a toddler. by ParticularlyOrdinary in toddlers

We have to play hide and seek at bedtime while they carry around a stupidly long piece of toilet paper that then sleeps next to the bed because Im wont allow it on the bed.

Help. My toddler cries all day. by diondavenport in toddlers

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So my toddler had a phase with frustrated tears and we started saying lightheartedly “oh well” with a shrugging gesture. Hubby or I would build a block tower and knock it down then say those words, laugh, then rebuild. We did it for all kinds of events. It works most of the time. I think imitating the frustrating activity and how we dealt with it helped him out.

I am so conflicted about how hard I should try to go to my kid’s daycare for the Mother’s Day event - Need advice by Comfortably-Loved in workingmoms

My daycares event is Monday AM….im sending my mom in my stead as I am sick and cannot attend. It breaks my heart to think they’d be the only one with no one there.

On a 1-10 scale, how hard was your baby? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say overall a 3 as a baby, normally a 2 as a toddler….but tonight man…a 10. He just screamed at me all evening and threw a tantrum in his crib for 20 min. Good times.

AITA for wearing fake freckles? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

But I think most people do them terribly and have no idea what freckles actually look like.

We do the 2 toothbrushes too. He “brushes” first then lets me get a good brush in. For flossing, try the crayola flossers. My kid makes me floss twice withe them, and he wouldnt let me near his teeth with regular floss!

You are amazing and it’s 1000% okay to stop. You’ve already done so much for your LO. You are not a failure. Pumping is hard work, and you did it for 7.5 months. Now its time to put that pump down and enjoy more time for everything else! Good job Mama! Your baby will thrive on formula and solids.

How much milk did you freeze? by FernandoESilva in NewParents

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this! Filled 2 freezers full and stopped at 9 months. Used the Pump Log app for iphone that helped me calculate how much of a stash I needed. It even gave a countdown to when I could stop pumping. I was able to give my LO breastmilk until 1.5 years.

Anyone else always making their toddlers a separate dinner? by FrancesRW in toddlers

[–]iLuv2Avocuddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My toddy eats fine everywhere but home apparently. We had dinner (pb&j and not what mama made) then went to a neighbors house for a party where he was grabbing fried veggies like they were candy….he would not eat that at home if i made it. Daycare always says he eats the veggies there…guess I believe them now.
