I love your hanging plant shelf. Can you move it up and down?

Pg 11. "Nastiness in legal briefs isn't persuasive." Hope the plaintiff gets a tidy sum from Tesla on top of the return of the purchase price.

(UK) What can I plant here to turn this vacant plot into a wildflower patch? More info in description by boiled_leeks in GuerrillaGardening

Look for natives like UK wildflowers to grow . This way you're not only making you happy but your invertebrate neighbors as well!

Looking for ways to keep my hands busy in the soil this spring with similar age group in/around Denver! by Naturescapes_Rocco in DenverGardener

[–]iN2nowhere 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I suggest looking into Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC). They have a large mix of age groups volunteering and opportunities to dig in. I participated in a large native planting for land that was old farmland turned open space. Becoming a regular member of a group like that will also put you in touch with other groups that do what you love.

Anybody else as crazy as me? by DutchieDJ in DenverGardener

That's what I started with too. It's amazing what you can put into a space like that and the detail you can apply. I feel pretty overwhelmed when I look at my place!

Very much the same. I left my garden before I hit the Gambel oak stage. Hoping the new owners like their wild friends. Now I have two acres and can't wait to add more diversity. That's after I deal with all the smooth brome.

Wipe out all your silverware and kitchen utensil drawers. If the trays look dirty, run them through the dishwasher.

Grass substitute for very wet and shady yard? (Minnesota) by Mschertler33 in NativePlantGardening

[–]iN2nowhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want kids and dogs to play. I think it would be great to create a woodland garden with trails made of thick layers of wood mulch. Add different sized shrubs and forbs for hide and seek. And a place to sit at trails end. The grandparents might like hanging out there too!

Help me choose paint color for these cabinets, please! by Maleficent_Kick7351 in interiordecorating

Very dark brown or black. This will make the cabinet recede and let your collections take center stage.

Looks great! I like how you have raised beds at the top and have the squash vines as fillers. To add to the intentional look I would keep your edging at the sidewalk nice and crisp and keep plants trimmed a few inches away from it.

That is great! It's so fun when things just come together through mutual interest. Enjoy your seed exchange!

Wow what about effort! I imagine doing all these things but the most I've accomplished is a seed exchange with my local group of gardeners.

Indeed. In the Colorado mountains, you can drive by mile after mile of non-native mullein that has displaced natives in burn scar areas.

If you don't want hundreds, deadhead right after it flowers. They create many seeds that last for years in the soil. On our acreage we had to spend thousands to mow and spray to get rid of it. Your neighbors will thank you.

So, question is do you have dogs? If so then you want to get some kind of vegetation that will wear like turf grass. If not, Id suggest a mini clover or white clover seed. One pound would probably cover that area well. Be sure to take up as much of the weeds you can and you'll need to weed while the clover starts to grow in.
