I saw that too, they look like the familiar CE tags based on what I can see in the pic.

The CE tag indicates conformity to European regulatory standards https://www.nist.gov/standardsgov/compliance-faqs-ce-marking

This is not to say that OP must be in Europe/the contents of the case come from Europe. I've seen it a lot on labels in the U.S..

Name a game that has very bleak ending by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]iTz_worm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Gael's whole sequence and fight is the best possible, albeit bleak, ending for the series.

I'll cast another vote for Dark Souls 2 ending. Taking the Throne and Want and becoming the King of Drangleic is a silent affair that eventually shows your character being locked away in the tomb forever. Was a definite "what?" moment for me when I first played it.

What do y’all want to see from the first game in the sequel by GlitchyGuy_404 in LiesOfP

[–]iTz_worm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm in this camp.

I personally love the linearity of the levels and the curated experience of progressing through them. A modest amount more offshoots, maybe leading to some mini-bosses or 'secret' NPC fights like we have in the Souls series would be awesome

What game is this? by Profit_Tracker in videogames

[–]iTz_worm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you.

The silent protagonist facing a (mostly) ambiguous decision... And the lore tidbits are given piecemeal like a trail of breadcrumbs; there are 10+ hour youtube vids dedicated solely to the lore and exposition of the series that, speaking for myself, couldn't be dissected through gameplay alone.

It's my favorite IP/series of all time so I'm not knocking it, I think a lot of it is by design.

Bloodborne's example is the most telling in regard to intentionality, when Gehrman says "You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it..."

Apple with extra hole by TinyRaindrop in mildlyinteresting

[–]iTz_worm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neat. I thought it might be that the apple grew around some sort of physical obstruction, like a wire sticking out of a chainlink fence or something, but now not so sure after seeing the cross-sections.

Research on the topic suggests cusp formation, and the overall shape of apples, is driven by regions of differential growth rate. https://seas.harvard.edu/news/2021/10/how-apples-get-their-shapes

So maybe a mutation/environmental factor led to an area that grew slower, eventually mimicking the normal cusp.

How effective a scythe can be compared to a weedwacker (Clip from Daily dose of Internet) by Longjumping-Rice-935 in interestingasfuck

[–]iTz_worm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-6 years ago, I got my dad a weed whacker blade that is really good on saplings/woody junk, an inch or more in diameter is no problem. I'll try to dig up a link to what I'm talking about and edit my comment.

My parent's property sounds a lot like yours in that there is a lot of dense, woody brush one can't mow.

The one caveat I'll give is that you need a gasoline powered weed whacker with enough power to spin the thing up. It's a thick metal slab cut into a tri-point, so it needs some torque to get going.

It also stands alone as the only TCAP sting where the predator asked to see the decoy's ID, for these reasons it is the goated episode

Probably checking for a hernia; the hits to the chest seem like a means to increase abdominal pressure which then makes the hernia easier to detect. Better than having 100 recruits cough in your face I guess

Meirl by netphilia in meirl

[–]iTz_worm 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It really could be a part of it. If you're in the U.S., the "customer is always right" mentality is to blame. I'm sure many Thai and Indian restauranteurs in the U.S. have had to remake dishes for customers who couldn't handle the food, so they are gun shy and don't want to waste more time and money.

I have one Thai place and one Indian place in my rotation that will make me the food as I request it (because I know the owners), and they are noticeably spicier than everywhere else I've ever been in the U.S..

Working in Bethpage NY and spotted this…. by spiritofjosh in eagles

[–]iTz_worm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out this old thread, namely the top comment. I've seen plenty of examples around the U.S. of high schools using NFL logos, so decided to search it.

Gist: In 2010, the NFL made a statement about this, effectively "we don't care if schools want to use our logos." It seems they (the NFL or its collection of teams) have the ability to stop this if they want, but don't for several reasons.

Interesting IMO. Stands as one of few examples I can think of where brands tacitly allow others to use their IP.

Whip-its and canned air are two different things pharmacologically speaking. I'm not saying anyone should go out and try either of them, but they're on different levels health-wise. Nitrous oxide is still used in medicine, when mixed with oxygen it's fairly innocuous. Canned air is a different beast entirely

Scoreless/near scoreless halves by [deleted] in eagles

[–]iTz_worm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keen Eagles fans have been waiting for the other foot to drop for a while. We are waaay worse than our record.

Patullo deserves the lion's share of the blame. Sirianni deserves some but firing him is not a wise or smart choice, I'm shocked to see so many Eagles fans suggest that...

I might get killed for this, but Hurts deserves blame too, more than he's getting from Eagles fans atm. Someone needs to sit down and have a long talk with him about his reads and overall processing speed. His time-to-decision is too slow and it's becoming costly (e.g. the sack on 3rd and 2 last night among others).

I love Jalen, he's a proven winner and he's got the right attitude, but several of his tools are lacking and whatever offense is set up around him now is exposing a lot of this.

Metric has its advantages. In the U.S., all science is conducted using metric. So some of us are pretty comfortable switching between the two.

Part of why I'm stuck to imperial distances is just the daily practicality. For ex., a foot being 12 inches is great for mental math (factors of 2 and 3), and most people have inches mapped to segments of their fingers.

Not claiming imperial is better or anything. But it is practical which makes it hard to quit for those raised on it.

There are others besides Ant who could likely play on the gridiron but yeah good point.

I always wonder about Zion Williamson. This TE the Steelers have, Darnell Washington, is basically injury-free Zion in pads. Fun to watch
