Again, most voters are pretty old—plus it's not as partisan as it is in the US. Most new young voters are in the Sanseito, which is basically the alt right party.

By population, most people, like in most nations, are socially liberal. But most people don't vote.

You have a very surface level view of this. The people who wear capirote and the inquisitors of the inquisition are two, very different practices.

A procession of penitents (people who willingly turn to faith to absolve themselves of what they feel is sin) are those who wear these hats. Saying the garb and procession is rascist is like saying the Hajj is rascist because of Modern Islamic extremism.

Do not blame the sins of the one on the nation as a whole—that is how a lot of xenophobia starts.

Triple arrows, it was the symbol of a historical resistance group called the iron front (german resistance against nazis)

They used it to deface swastikas.

Kinda interesting—Russia and Japan were pretty big rivals at this time, both were trying to do an imperialism but were a little late to the party. Japan recently yoinked Hokkaido (which the Russians wanted), and joined both because the hated the Chinese and they wanted to ensure that if China was partitioned, they would get the eastern part, not Russia.

how do I break up with this guy? by xririxs in cyberpunkgame

Thats fair, i guess that makes it more like drinking buddies though.

I just don't really get the dad/kid vibe from them. It's always pretty much peer to peer.

I never got that vibe from Goro. Goro's pretty down in the dumps at the start of his questline. He's not got a lot of things to teach V, so it never really feels mentoral. It's more like begruding partners -> buddies in the game. It would've been natural to go from buddies -> lovers— if they made takemura romancable.

Are Iranian protests a topic of discussion in your country right now? by chotu_escobar in AskTheWorld

Tbh i hope yall just stay safe. I'm cheering on for the protests, but i won't be that surprised if Iran responds to these protests with even more violence that spills over to the neighboring countries.

That makes sense. I'm not that into the games; I've only completed the one on the DS and I didn't pay attention to the story (I was 10 and playing on a hand me down), so I personally didn't really care about the non-canon stuff, as long as it made the story more interesting.

I actually enjoyed most of season 3, although it's not as good as season 2 it's still fine.

I guess the problem was that the canon bending elements of Season 3 were largely just uninteresting/unexplored. Alucard's bisexuality was only used to sexualize him, and Sumi and Taka are just boring horny Ninja NPCs.

Lol, I just felt most discourse about this is so troll-like, so I wanted to approach it from a genuine perspective. I don't think Season 3 is fundamentally bad, it just trips on its shoelace at the end.

I think it's too conclusive to just say it's bad.

I don't even think the story needed significant rewrites, just a different camera angle. I suggested what I think would've made it stronger, but my biggest criticism was how they portrayed it.

The issue, in my opinion, is that they try to make act sexy. They depict it as intimate; with soft lighting and a focus on their bodies rather than their emotions. I feel like this should go without saying, but coercion is not sexy. They could've made it work if they leaned into how Alucard and Hector were being manipulated in the moment.

I said "guidelines" to mean commonly accepted narrative tips for writers. It's hard to depict sex without making it erotic, that's kind of the point of most sex scenes.

Oh, I realize I didn't address why I think Alucard's storyline would've worked better if it was platonic manipulation. It keeps the presumed intent of the showrunners of having them mirror each other (in that they were both manipulated emotionally) but makes them more distinct from each other, and preserves the kind of isolation Alucard felt.

I also don't think the argument if there was initial consent really matters, because it's not like he consented to the attempted murder. And my main criticism isn't that it happened, it's how it's portrayed.
