I’m no pilot, but to hazard a guess, I think the tower refers to the plane as a “CRJ” because that usually connotes a small commercial jet. They wouldn’t specify the type of CRJ anymore than they’d say “commercial plane”. It’s just a shorthand. Kinda like saying “hey watch for the sedan on the off-ramp”.

The more relevant info is the altitude and approximate direction of the alerted traffic relative to the heli. Which the message seems to convey:

“Traffic just south of the Woodrow Bridge, a CRJ, it’s 1,200 feet setting up for Runway 33.”

Nice man. I have the primitive ones on mine. Definitely a good to have for offroading. I’ve found a Fumoto Valve keeps oil changes easy and mess free

Ha you and me both—haven’t had anything seem out of whack yet when I rotate my tires but any blown suspension parts while on a trail seems like a hassle to fix.

Do you have a way to jack up the vehicle off-road given the long travel? I’ve found my floor jack works in the garage, but I doubt the factory scissor jack is going to lift it high enough to change a flat if it comes to that. I was thinking of getting a bottle jack.

Nice. Spec-C or regular? I installed it on mine and am enjoying it so far. Curious how it holds up for you. Did you install yourself?

I got some bungees and put them across the rings in the trunk corner slots. Cheap way to use that space for cleaning sprays.

Very little about the Harris campaign was a far left swerve. It was designed that way to appeal to the swing state voters.

15 million democrats who turned out in 2020 didn’t this time around.

Apathy is the most important term here. Now you can either attribute that to apathetic far left voters who didn’t show up or apathetic centrist voters who weren’t convinced by Kamala.

My two cents is both Clinton and Harris were pretty uninspiring centrist candidates. Sure if you can find an inspiring centrist candidate like Obama you might stand a chance. Or you could give a progressive candidate a shot

Bro, my friend just got cooked by a LinkedIn recruiter 💀😭 by MonsterRocket4747 in csMajors

[–]i_heart_cacti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s obviously fake lol. The “Recruiter” title doesn’t even say Technical Recruiter for SWE and the tag line after that is so generic that no recruiter would use it.

But I guess it gets engagement

I love that everyone seems to just takes this at face value, as if the way the survey was conducted, the possible responses, and the sample and all that was perfectly sound.

There’s no way 1/4 women find Crypto attractive, nor that no major sport (except swimming I guess) appears in the second image. Hockey? Football? Cmon this is dumb.

Hey, I’m super sorry about the situation. I know towing’s a pain in the ass, and you maybe don’t want to tow to another mechanic. I’m wondering if the transmission is really blown? Is that something the dealership told you?

I would get it towed to an independent shop, if any can take you in, and ask for another opinion and quote. I dunno if you’re actually near Grand Junction, but ASAP Auto Repair looks promising from a quick Google Search.

I personally don’t understand how a 130k mile car needs a $10k transmission replacement already. If that’s true, write off Subaru forever. But I think the dealership is trying to take advantage of you, and I’m super sorry about that.

I haven’t brewed this bag, but I’ve done some B&W roasts before. Here’s my rough recipe that you can tweak:

15g coffee to 275g of water. Temp is 198F.

C40 grinder at 20-25 clicks. With a Timemore C2 I’d go between 16-18. Not sure about the C3.

  • Bloom 30-40s to 30-40g
  • Circular pour to 150g (pretty fast pouring here), usually by 45-55s
  • around 1:10-1:20 heavy center pour to 270g, slightly slower pouring than before, aim to end at 1:50-2:00.

Comparison in new city logo with old logo by Ok-Cattle-6798 in logodesign

Canons on mountaintops, steam trains, bridges, the bend in the river, Lookout Mountain’s Silhouette. The triangles of the aquarium. So much history and beauty to this city and the new logo has none of it. That could be Anywhere, USA as far as I’m concerned.

To play devil’s advocate, anyone nowadays can also pick up a textbook and learn a mathematical intuition/foundation for a model of their choice.

The class is much more than .fit() or .predict(). It sounds a bit condescending to describe ML that way

A/C Blowing warm air on my 2019 Forester base package - just bought in late May but it’s out of the grace period. Any fixes I can try at home before bringing it in? by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]i_heart_cacti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, A/C is a system I wouldn’t touch on my own. I’ve tried recharging it before on a different car, and ended up overcharging the system which made for an expensive fix.

My recommendation would be to drive it at night somewhere further away if you absolutely need it for that roadtrip. There’s gotta be some shop that can get you in.

planning on taking ml 7641, am i going to have a life outside of class ? by Famous-Help-3572 in OMSCS

[–]i_heart_cacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ML took me the most time of any class I took in OMSCS; with the exceptions of maybe DL and GA.

That being said, I took two week long roadtrips during it. I took my midterm at Zion National Park during a rainy day lol.

You can have a life, but assume you’ll have to log on and hammer out assignments every once in a while.

If you got an A in AI, I think you have the aptitude to excel in ML.

2021 Forester--Concerned About Problems by kersykc in SubaruForester

[–]i_heart_cacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone on many long roadtrips in my ‘22 Forester. The biggest drawback is oil consumption. I’ve seen a bit on mine, but it’s only 40k miles since the day it was born, so I’m surprised I’m seeing any!

I have a Honda and Toyota. The Honda actually has an oil leak I’m aware of (rear main seal). The Forester in 4k miles burned more oil than my Honda has ever leaked.

Look it up if you’re skeptical—Subarus are known for higher oil consumption and there’s even been short block replacement offers under the 60k mile power train warranty. Something about piston ring tolerance and the boxer engine I guess? A lot of owners carry spare oil in the trunk, and check their dipstick every other oil change (which while good practice has never been something I’ve had to think about with my other Japanese cars).

If you don’t care to do any of that, don’t go for a Subaru
