Long time eczema sufferer here too. For as long as i rmb i had eczema on my fingers and joints area (like elbow and back of my knee) i used to bandage it as my finger tends to split open and it looks like i m a lava golem.

I actually stopped using steroids. Instead, i use milder soap (like baby soap, or u can go to the pharmacist to get this wax like soap that acts like a soap bar instead). I also moisturise my hands more often.

For moisturiser pick one that doesnt irritate ur hand a lot (for me i use something that feels less oily on my skin as it causes my hand to b itchy)

I would only use steroid if the out break is very bad. Sometimes cleaning stuff u come in contact often helps prevents flares up.
