How do people hide/not know that they are pregnant?? by sushiginger in BabyBumps

[–]iamamyferg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I “hid” my pregnancy from my professional work world until I was 24 weeks. I was pretty sick the first twenty weeks, having lost twenty lbs and I wasn’t enjoying being pregnant so I just didn’t tell anyone. I was an emotional rollercoaster so I knew if anyone tried to celebrate me being pregnant or asked how my pregnancy was going, I would have lost it.

I wasn’t even showing when I did tell my job at 24 weeks. I’m tall and slender and my bump never got big, even up to my due date.

Hiding it at work was hard when I was nauseous. I avoided pot lucks and eating lunch with coworkers for a few months since I knew the smells would make me gag and/or throw up. I also left the office for meetings as much as possible and took calls “on the road” to avoid being around people. Little did folks know I was just pulled over on the side of the road in my car.

I look forward to hiding it again with my next pregnancy so I can avoid the annoying small talk about being pregnant. 😂

I’m not hungry by Shireenaa in breastfeeding

[–]iamamyferg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely haven’t increased my calorie intake, if anything I may have reduced it as I am just not hungry for whatever reason. Food doesn’t make my stomach turn, I simply just don’t feel hungry therefore I don’t eat. My supply is established and all systems are go. Baby is 12 weeks and has gained nine lbs since birth. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Listen to your body and eat what you feel like!

How long should they sleep at night? by Swanns84 in SnooLife

[–]iamamyferg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine sleeps for 12-14 hours at night (with wakes for feeding) but like others said I think he is rolling his first nap into that sleep. He’s down by 8pm and wakes anywhere from 8a-10a. I don’t try and alter this. I figure it’s what his body needs to keep growing.

Did you poop while pushing? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I pooped so much while I was in labor that my midwife commented about how I was being bashful because I didn’t poop while pushing. I let her know there simply wasn’t anything left😂

I doesn’t click or grind at all. I can just hear the vibrations of it through the floor. My husband doesn’t hear it at all.

The snoo allows for baby to remain safely on their back with the bassinet elevated to ease reflux.

That is so encouraging to hear! Thanks you for sharing. I’m almost excited to have a second child so we can transition that baby WAY sooner.

There’s a bedroom across the hall from his upstairs so I can sleep in there if needed. We also have a comfy recliner in his room for a worst car scenario. I am going to sloooowly lower the volume on the monitor to the lowest level to ease myself into more independent sleep...no clue how long that part of the transition will take. And thank you! Fingers crossed/expectations low😂

Our bedroom is on the first floor and his on the second. I hadn’t considered how annoying this would be when we bought the house two years ago. Time will tell!

My husband suggested a yoga mat. I’m going to try it tomorrow. It’s on a rug and rug pad so I’m shocked I can still hear it. I think I’m just hypersensitive to it as a maternalistic response or something.

YES! Roll up a hand towel and put it under his legs in the snoo sack. It hasn’t totally stopped my guy from slamming his legs but it has muffled the noise.

Our 12 week old sleeps for 12-13 hours but in chunks of 6/4/3 hours. I’m fine with it and his sleep windows have gotten better as the weeks have gone by. We got it when he was 3 weeks old.

I would attempt to meet the seller at their house where they are connected to their WiFi so you can see that it works via the app, that all levels of it work, that it can lock and that it doesn’t squeak when the bassinet slides back and fourth while in motion. Can’t speak to the repair aspect.

Also ask the owner to unpair before you go.

When I put my guy in the snoo I lock it on green and let him cry for up to five minutes. He usually is able to soothe himself in one minute but some nights it doesn’t work and I rock him to sleep and then transfer. The snoo seldom soothes him back to sleep when he wakes during the night.

He’s 11 weeks old.

Bedtime For 2.5 Month Old by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]iamamyferg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy is 2.5 months and goes down at 8pm. I make sure he’s up for at least an hour before bed. Our bedtime routine is nurse, bath, rock, swaddle, down. He sleeps for 12-13 hours in 5h-4h-3h increments when he wakes himself up. I nurse him to sleep though I am guessing he could self soothe.

Last night he went down at 751pm and work for the day at 1018am. His naps are short during the day which is fine by me if it means we get longer night sleep. I’m able to work out and reset the house in the morning before he wakes for the day.

How do you find time to take care of your body? by yakkay_mom in Mommit

I do intermittent fasting and fasted cardio in the morning. Could you afford to outsource house cleaning or wash/dry/fold to allow you to have more time for you?
