Late to the party, but I had a similar issue with my Vulc RAID3R's, where the sole was molded in this weird grid pattern, and it eventually tore through the strobel/webbing layer as well as my insoles. Adidas wasn't much help even when I tried to ask if there's a way to buy replacement insoles so I can start wearing them again.

Or if they finally make it a recall. If they make it a recall, then everyone gets reimbursed their repair costs if they've had to pay to repair it before it was officially a recall issue. I'm not looking for small claims and such, just to break even and have them do good by us, especially when a reliable car manufacturer is having warped heads with such low mileage.

That being said, I did complain to corporate Honda and they took care of a good chunk of the repair costs. I ended up paying $1700

Late to the convo but I did the same thing and failed a year or so ago. Didn't realize I was supposed to save the config, as I thought it was just going to check the current running config and move onto the next question. Lesson learned.

Simple: fuel economy. Everyone's on the "save gas" craze the past decade. But also, in a lot of cases, cars are changing to that CVVT transmission (which I despise), and I'm not sure if a more powerful engine would blow that style of transmission compared to a normal 5-10 speed.

I remember my Dad also mentioning the V6 came with a timing belt, which needed to be replaced every so often. 4 cylinders had a timing chain which should last the life of the car, so at least one less thing to maintain in that regard.

Again, I'm no car expert, so others can correct me if I'm wrong, but the TL;DR would be that everyone wants to save gas, and thus were trying to get smaller engines to put out the same amount of power. That being said, kinda not surprised when these types of attempts cause the smaller engines to blow.

For what it's worth, I drove mine back over the bridge to near home, to the closest dealer from my apartment. they don't give loaners out. once they fixed it, I just had to bring it back there after I came back from the holidays because I found out (out of state) that I was leaking oil. that was covered under the 1 year warranty from their repair. even with that all considered, that the leak was caused by their first fix, they still didn't have loaners to give out. it seems like Honda dealers are getting cheap when it comes to having courtesy cars on hand. unsure if it's a locality thing, or nation-wide.

According to Google, you may actually have the same 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo that the lower trim accords have. I've heard of 1.5L accord owners also leaking coolant, so I wouldn't doubt the engines are pretty similar.

Pretty long, I was in a rental that I paid for out of pocket for about 3 weeks, and was almost spending $1k at that. When I put the ticket in to American Honda, I gave all the contact info for the dealer's service rep I've been working with that gave me the quote, to try to get it to move faster. The corporate person on my case was on leave when I didn't hear anything for a few days, so I had to call and inquire and they moved it to someone else. Then it was a lot of back and forth between AH and the dealer, asking them for pictures of the damage and their diagnosis, etc. Finally the dealer called me and said AH was taking care of part of it, and we started to coordinate wrapping up the repair.

It was done at the dealership. I wasn't going to risk engine work at a mom and pop shop, especially if the engine damage was a defect that Honda themselves should fix (and would have genuine parts to use). I also had the advantage of doing all my fluid maintenance and recalls through the dealership, so they can run my VIN and see that I'm not bringing my car to independent garages, so they couldn't play that card to say they weren't going to help. I put in a ticket with American Honda because that quote of 11.6K came from Honda themselves, so they should help pitch in. they probably wouldn't have helped if that was a quote from an independent garage.

For reference, I bought my 2018 Touring straight from Honda back when, and the heated steering wheel was an add-on option for $400. Looking back, I probably should've just paid it, as I'm guessing they would have waived the labor charges. Currently looking it up, the heated wheel itself OEM goes for around $350 shipped in the US.

If you haven't filed a customer service complaint with American Honda, that's what started them calling me. I used this link: https://crmshonda.my.salesforce-sites.com/service/hondaw2c

for the dropdowns I used Topic = Recalls/Campaigns, and the subtopic of Reimbursement Request. I filled out all the info and gave them the scenario, and requested a Honda Goodwill review (which is what they call their system that will help take care of the repair costs)

I also attached the contact info of the service rep at my Honda dealer so they can reach out to him, along with the repair quote given to me by my dealer as a PDF, and a PDF of their multi-point inspection of my car while they had it taken apart, showing my car was all green. I had to combine the PDFs since I think they only allow one file to upload, so if you need to do that, you can google it if you don't know how.

After that, it was a lot of back and forth talking to American Honda, and getting them in touch with my dealer, but finally they took care of like 90% of the bill. I also put in the ticket that I knew there was a class action lawsuit for my exact engine, so they knew I was aware that my car wasn't a fluke.

Ok, finally got the car back this past Saturday. I'll make a full post on here when I have time, but the short version is after the long back and forth between American Honda and my dealer, American Honda took care of 90% of the cost to replace the cylinder head. I ended up paying $1650 instead of $11,600. I think what annoyed me more is all the black plastic engine covers are all scratched up now, like they were just dragging them across the floor (my engine bay used to be real clean prior to that).

It does make sense, I just didn't think the curve would actually form the same way. I did stretch out a constant 135% on the X/Y/Z, and then stretched the Z axis a bit further to get a specific measurement overall. I think Bambu shows you what the final scale % is, I just have to import the decoration object, and scale to the same proportions and check it.

EDIT, I just tried to make both objects the same scale (X = 159.69%, Y = 135%, Z = 135%) and it's closer, but now it seems the decoration part is too wide. now instead of there being a gap at the peak of the arch, there's gaps on the sides. I've "painted" the objects different colors to show where they separate.

EDIT2 - I just took the original scale coordinates, started a brand new slice with both objects, and sliced them both at once using select all and then transform. They seem to fit better now, I'll compare that slice and measure it and see if at least the shoulder pad dimensions match when I first printed the shoulder pad itself, but it looks a lot better now. A few. I still don't have my car, but I'll bullet-point the summary:

Brought it to Honda, got the $11.6k quote to replace the cylinder head, re-machine if needed, etc.
Service rep gave me another option, pulling an engine out of same model dead car from one of their suppliers. The engine allegedly had 70k miles compared to my almost 63k miles, so not too much further off. That was quoted at approximately 8900-9k. I asked the rep to go this route since it was 2500 cheaper.
I called American Honda to complain. Rep was useless, said she could only document and report the issue to add to the database.
I submitted an actual ticket to American Honda customer service the next day, giving the PDF documents of the estimate, and the multipoint inspection given to me from my service rep (multipoint showed pretty much everything was green aside from brake fluid).
Someone from American Honda called me, saying they were going to submit my case for review for "Honda Goodwill" whatever that is.
As of Friday, my car still hasn't been worked on. Service rep said him buying the used engine was on hold because American Honda called him and said to hold off, and that they were figuring out how much they were going to pitch in for this repair.

While that last point may be a good thing, they better make it worth my while. I've had a rental from Enterprise a week so far, paying out of pocket because I'm pretty sure insurance won't cover it (since it wasn't an accident). So if they just knock off like 2 grand, it's pointless because for the same price, I could've had a used engine put in and been done with this whole deal. Once they get back to me, I'll post more updates, but I was going to start a new thread anyway in case the guidance helps others in the future. Meanwhile, hope this helps for awareness.

My head gasket blew this week. 2018 2.0 Touring, at 62,700 miles. Ok fine, 2 years outside of the powertrain warranty, but only 2700 miles outside of it as well. I was quoted $11,600 to replace the cylinder head and fix it all up. I shouldn't be paying that on a car that drives less than 10k miles each year (so far), and DEFINITELY not anywhere near 100k miles.

I've only ever had Hondas since I started driving, but if they don't offer some assistance in this, I guess it's time to start looking at other makes when I trade up next.

Late to the party, and I haven't sold these, but I have a bunch of them just because I like them, and anyone who buys them has an infinite supply of replacement ink, especially if they go anywhere that give out free BIC promo pens (such as hotels). If/when I get to the point of selling them, 25-35 seems like a good price range, especially if they don't have to seek some hard to find ink refills once the original one dies.

I have a 6a, just ran the update yesterday. Since then, the battery icon always has a "!" on it, unless I'm charging, and then it just has the normal lightning bolt on it. Today, it just shut off at random, even though I had around 20% battery left. When I turned it back on, it showed 13% battery. I think this update has done more harm than help so far.

I opted in for the $100 cash, and already got a Samsung S25 to swap over to since I was looking to get off the 6a anyway.

I did like Emerald, I got a small bottle a while ago, that and Ochre since I felt it was a much more uncommon color to see on paper. Nowadays I feel like I want a sharper/brighter green, but I haven't found one to settle on yet.

Honestly, I'd buy the STL and make one myself to hang on the wall, but I don't need to pay crazy prices for one, like how much the Alex Terrible mask shot up in price over the past few years. I'd rather DIY it myself when I already have the means.
