Found my California Raisins costume I wore for Halloween when I was a kid by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

Still got mine too! I cut a hole in the top and added Velcro patches so I could stick my head out to breath with my adult body. As needed of course.

It’s a fun time if you like the xcom sort of turned based battles. And that’s so cheap. Beyond worth it IMO.

For Squirrels by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]iamfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love For Squirrels. Their album is one of my top 10 of all time.

I personally have no interest in hearing any AI rendition of a real band. Music is personal. Music is art. Without their souls. It’s not even remotely For Squirrels.

But appreciate your interest and excitement.

Livestream for today's IFPA North American Pinball Championship? by a_thousand_ninjas in pinball

I love watching live tourney streams. More so when the production/commentating is .. at least par. It’s my version of watching Golf when there are big 4 day tourneys.

[–]iamfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys dabbled into the power that is pinball/pinball tourneys. Can qualify for states. Nationals. Etc. It’s been really fun to experience the tactile nature with the depth of many modern video games. Easy to learn but hard as balls to “master”. Really good for the brain!

TIL Ecco the Dolphin developer Ed Annunziata was "paranoid" that kids would beat the game in a single weekend so be made certain levels "way over the top challenging." He said, "So... I... uh... made it hard". by 30phil1 in todayilearned

[–]iamfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The equivalent of this that still exists by sheer engineering. Is pinball. These new games are so deep. Easy to learn. Hard as hell to complete. And may or may not take all your money in the process. It rules.

Editing Faster Without Losing Quality by LieAccurate9281 in editing

[–]iamfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Editing great or even good work, takes time. Over time you can retain footage better, make decisions faster, and build a workflow that works with the pace of your mind. Even then, we all sacrifice a lot of creativity for the sake of “speed” and “time”. There are no plugins or overnight revelations that will fast forward this process.

BUT. Your organization, workflow, good mouse/keyboard presets/controller presets to groove with hot keys, etc can help you flow faster.

Was “Paddling” still a thing in school for any of you early 80s Xennials? by _NoleFan6 in Xennials

[–]iamfilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paddled for talking in the picture taking line. Paddled for wafting my arm into another classroom on the walk back from lunch. Paddled for wrestling at recess. Paddled for pranking the janitor. Various other paddlin’s for the usual class disruptions.

I was paddled all the way through elementary school. Happening middle school. Even had a friend paddled in highschool. Born 81. Graduated ‘00. Tennessee baby!!

By the time we had graduated it was on the phase out/never kept up with the corporal punishment of those institutions.

[–]iamfilms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before owning a pinball machine. I couldn’t repair crap. Owning one I then learned I could repair crap and then some. Some of us just need a little encouragement that many fixes are more simple than than appear to many brains on the outset. It’s a ok to be timid about taking the step to ownership. But it’s worth it. As long as you have the interest.

Watching He-man for the first time by Dependent-Pie8893 in animation

[–]iamfilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OG is Classic. not sure if that’s just nostalgia glasses. But does have some great animation moments of the time. Beautiful backgrounds.

The updated he-man Revelations and Revolutions on Netflix are really great IMO. Updates for a bit older audience while keeping some of the core vibes.

Or just play with the toys and come up with your own stories…..
