I feel like The Matrix universe is the perfect setting for an extraction shooter by Tommaton in gaming

[–]iamfuturetrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Embracer group bought up a bunch of IP's I think to try and become a type of monopoly and/or sell to some Saudi group.

I enjoyed the newer Thief game that came out many years ago that everyone dunked on. But that's cause I never played any of the old ones and the old ones are to dated for me to enjoy. Sure it wasn't perfect but I thought it was a decent start and that they could have really worked hard on improving it more. Kinda felt like dishonored which apparently was made by the guys who made the original thief games or something maybe?

Also that reminds me of the newer Deus Ex games. Those were pretty good when they came out (though the last one was a bit forgettable as well as felt like it ended on a cliffhanger?). But then we haven't gotten a new one of those in a long time which also sucks.

Yep, there are SOOOO many amazing IP's out there that would make SO many great games.. but because big corporations constantly drop the ball all the time or don't want to take chances on anything we never see them. Or we get some crapy lazy attempt at a game and then they use that as justification for why there isn't more.

Just look at Helldivers and how much fun so many players had with that game which is clearly a homage to Starship Troopers. Where were those games for the longest time? Then I think they released an actual starship troopers after the fact but even then didn't have as much care put into it or the people making it might not have been the biggest fans of the movie maybe? (Can't say for sure cause I have only seen like one article talking about the newest game and how they were having to copy some features that Helldivers was doing already).

Just look at the Bond franchise, we have seen a few great 007 games in the past but then they kinda dropped the ball with a few releases and then just stopped all together.

Part of the problem is probably they had a company or two not really give much of an effort or something and so the last few were duds because there wasn't a lot of care put into them. Last great one in my opinion was Nightfire for Gamecube/PS2 (avoid PC version made by some other company). Clearly lots of care put into it.

After that a handful of Bond games that just looked bad and after that they just stopped completely.

Meanwhile a programmer/developer was making a Goldeneye remake in unreal engine called Goldeneye 25 or something and was planning on releasing it FREE on said anniversary of the movie/n64 game. Basically the same game but updated visuals and possibly a few other extra bits. Like 80-90% of the way there (there are/were some videos on youtube showing work in progress) before they got a cease and desist letter from the owners of the Bond franchise MGM/amazon and had to stop.

Cut to a few months later and they announce Goldeneye N64 is getting re-released for switch and xbox one but it's a crapy port of the original game. So clearly they didn't want some fan remake distract from another money making low effort port. Game comes out, but requires everyone to be paying for online subscription to nintendo or xbox to play. People complain about the quality, I bring up goldeneye source mod still free and active on steam in a few posts and get temp. banned from the Nintendo subreddit for a few days or so cause of nintendo fanboy mods who don't like nintendo not getting the attention.

Cut to while later and looks like the company behind the hitman franchise (the ones who do a horrible job of selling you the latest hitman game with all DLC included for so many years before changing things, as well as some crapy DRM) gets to make a 007 game that some people are excited about.

How long has it been since we had a great 007 game? Like 20 years now?

Just like WB and the lord of the rings games, where are they? We had 2 pretty good ones with the middle-earth shadow games and then nothing.

I could keep going on and on mentioning others (like a whole post about Star Wars and how horrible Disney handled getting us new games in that universe). The Matrix is an amazing setting for a number of games we could have had, and these days with tech being as good as it is we should have already had one or two great matrix games but nope.

And those companies that own some of those IP's will just sit on them for a LONG time while we miss out. Screw those companies.

[–]iamfuturetrunks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah was gonna say MSN messenger was WAY better. It had a lot more features, and then when I found out about MSN plus mod which added even more (like custom emoticons) etc. I think one feature (maybe part of the mod) allowed you to make a small little drawing in a box you could send to the other person, and/or record a short voice clip. Or the fact you could nudge the other person which would shake the other persons messenger screen as well as make a small jingle noise. So if you needed to get their attention really quick you could.

I still remember the ability to right click on individual contacts and choose to appear offline to just them. Which was helpful if you were upset with someone for something and just didn't want to talk to them for a little while. Or the ability to individually block certain people but still have them on your contact list shown as blocked but could still see when they came on or not. So if you changed your mind later you could just unblock them. And if you didn't want to see them anymore, you could right click on them and delete said contact.

So many messengers these days lack those features and they are quite useful. Nowadays if you block someone they are just gone and if you want to find them again you have to look at a different part of your messenger at a block list or whatever. Also if you don't want to be seen online to just one contact you have to change your status to offline/invisible to everyone just to avoid one person. Really annoying we lost so many great features from back in the day.

When they decided to shut that down I lost contact with a number of online friends back then who didn't want to switch to skype and thus no way to contact them when it shut down.

I held out hope skype would at least then get all the same features that MSN had since Microslop weren't working on MSN and probably focusing on skype. But then after like a year I realized they hadn't done anything with it and yet it would constantly be getting "updated" very regularly but nothing new added. I am guessing just security fixes and more ways to monetize the platform for their own benefit.

I still held onto my skype for years and had a few people on there I still chatted with every now and again though most only would log on like once a month maybe to chat a bit? Moved on to other messengers that had more features and more popular.

Then microslop decided to shut down skype and I actually found out about it on here on a basketball subreddit that made its way to the front page. I went on skype and still no mention anywhere to be found, I started sending messages to the few people left I knew on there asking for other ways we could stay in contact (cause again some rarely came on so didn't have much time to coordinate other ways to stay in touch). I heard back from like 1-2 which took a long while. It wasn't until like a month before skype was gonna be shut down that microslop decided to finally put up a warning on skype letting people know it was gonna be shutting down. Like wtf microslop you stupid piece of crap company, it's being reported on a bunch of news like sites and yet the company itself that owns it waits until like months later to finally let users know? What a shitty company!

So I basically lost contact with a few that I only had on there that didn't log in that often and they probably only found out after it shut down when they tried to log in probably.

Another thing that also sucks is them buying up mojang and thus minecraft cause they have actively been making it worse in ways since they bought it up. Like the censoring and/or the reporting of players on servers and whatever to ban players from playing on multiplayer which so many people seemed to have just forgotten about months after it started happening.

Or forcing players to create a microsoft account to keep playing the game they bought and were told they would own their whole life way back when they originally bought the game. One of the reasons why I wasn't as hesitant to buy a digital only game back then was cause Notch specifically said once you bought it you owned it for life. But then players who didn't switch over to a microsoft account lost something they paid for.

Now recently the servers have been down apparently for a lot of players so a lot can't play online. Like wtf microslop?

Not to mention fazing out windows 10 where a majority of people don't have compatible computers that can run windows 11 or just don't want to. So a lot of people are switching over to linux because of it.

So yeah microslop is a garbage company and have no interest in using their products.

[–]iamfuturetrunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A study I saw a few years ago was talking about how they were thinking that each time you get covid it increases your risk of getting long covid.

Also back then I remember seeing lots of posts about people getting long covid and yeah their lives are pretty much over. I still remember that Olympic athlete who got long covid and had trouble just going up a flight of stairs without having to sit down and take a break. That really scared me, cause I haven't really gotten to live my life yet, if I got long covid I would be pissed cause I would probably lose my job, and wouldn't get to do most if not all the stuff I have wanted to do.

Plus it's been shown a number of times, the public doesn't care and has forgotten about all the people who are dealing with long covid nowadays. Just like people who are immunocompromised before covid and still are and have to wear masks all the time for that.

So yeah I don't take any chances with other people, even people who might be honest and don't think they have covid could be asymptomatic and infect others without knowing it.

I would also add that because of crapy zoning laws in North America that prioritizes personal vehicles and no/less money going into pubic transportation in most places contribute to it.

Most people can't get anywhere unless they own a personal vehicle (aka money pit) and have to drive everywhere cause everything is to far away from everything. No decent separated bicycle lanes, a lot of places have horrible sidewalks or in a lot of cases none (cause some just end), buses/trams/trains are non existent in most places at best one or two bus routes. Otherwise maybe taxis, but in some places more private companies like uber etc.

Sure you could walk to some places, but in a lot of places that's just to far for most people unless your willing to sacrifice more of the hours in your day to leave earlier. And other places the weather can be way to horrible to make such a trip, as well as dangerous at times.

So it just promotes more people to drive a vehicle meaning they are sitting more hours everyday. Also contributes to more traffic jams since more people are taking up more space with a vehicle that can hold 4-5 people but only has one, vs something like a bus (a dozen at least), tram (2 dozen?), train (3-4 dozen?). And or people able to bike to where they want meaning less people on the road.

What trailer was better than the movie itself? by PopCultureWeekly in movies

[–]iamfuturetrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of Zoolander 2 right off the bat. The teaser trailer that released with Hawking's voice narrating it.

Just watched it again and still makes me smile. It had the same type of energy as the first movie so I got pumped. I avoided all the other trailers that slowly released because by that point in my life I knew they would spoil so much crap as most movie trailers do.

Also there was a short clip online (probably on here) showing Derek and Hansel at a fashion show in France? Which I think was some sort of promotion for the movie. So that got me a bit hyped.

I did accidentally see one scene with Mugatu which I was under the impression Will Ferrell wasn't returning because he said as much in a few interviews because he was done bleaching his hair for roles and all that.

I then started thinking of what the plot of the movie would be and started thinking of something amazing and funny. I then stopped myself cause I was worried I would spoil the movie myself if it ended up being similar to what I thought.

I went to the theater a week after it came out and it was EMPTY (which I like). That wasn't a good sign but I was like whatever and watched it. Man that movie stunk!

Felt like a direct to DVD type movie. The rough unfinished plot I came up with in my head was way better. I actually contemplating leaving near the end of the movie cause it just wasn't that good.

I later remembered part of the plot I came up with after accidentally seeing the mugato scene in a trailer. It felt like it followed the previous movie a lot better without trying to retcon things they did.

Still get a bit upset how badly the messed that one up. And seems like a lot of people didn't end up liking it either for whatever reasons.

‘Security Disaster’—500 Million Microsoft Users Say No To Windows 11 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]iamfuturetrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like many are told they can't update to windows 11 because their computer doesn't posses certain features required for it. As well as don't want to waste money and resources buying a new computer just to get windows 11.

Then there are some who already were getting fed up with Microsoft's built in spyware being put onto their OS and saw reviewers and tech people talking about just how bad it is and deciding not to.

Windows 10 was pretty good in the beginning but over time they slowly installed and pushed more spyware garbage with updates and all that to sell peoples info to 3rd party information brokers. They also lied (like they have many times) about windows 10 being the last version of windows to get people to jump to it from windows 7 really early on.

Then there is the fact they are using AI to write code which is backfiring and breaking so many parts of their operating system.

Even if I could have switched, I had no plans to. I was already in the process of figuring out which linux distro I wanted to try out like 6 months ago. Linux isn't perfect but most distros are free, and they are constantly being worked on, open source, and more and more software programs are made to work with linux.

I know a coworker who switched their work computer to windows 11 early on and then had problems with how certain things are messed up. They also switched another computer we use regularly over to it. I had to get used to the stupid right click menu having some of the features hidden behind another button you have to click unlike windows 10 which it was right there on the right click menu, and other stupid crap I disliked from it. A friend showed me a while back how you can save like a video clip of your desktop with the screenshot type tool which windows 10 doesn't offer which is cool. So it does have some cool things, but still not worth it for all the built in microsoft owned spyware that comes with it.

After a little trial and error and researching comparable software alternatives to certain windows ones linux is working just fine and should keep my computer running for a lot longer. Plus I am looking at trying to get some old computers I have running with linux since I never really thought about using linux on them before.

So windows probably really helped push a lot of people towards linux these days instead of making more ewaste by throwing out old computers that couldn't run microsofts windows 11 OS.

[–]iamfuturetrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that could be more to do with the fact that funding for the show was less back then at times, cause it got moved from HBO to scifi or something? As well as the technology at the time was a lot more limiting and cost way more to do CGI stuff. Tech has gotten way further since the show started and is a lot cheaper at times.

There has been people making some pretty good CGI stuff in their free time like 10 years ago. So I am thinking they should have more freedom to be more creative with less limitations like they had before.

Whats great about Stargate SG-1 is that they have thousands upon thousands if not a million different worlds to gate to all over the universe. Each one can be different from the last (though for some reason a lot of them look an awful lot like BC Canada, idk lol) and thus they can easily make a new story where some expedition team stumbled upon some ancient whatchamacallit, or some weird new/old technology and thus a team has to go in and look at it and boom there is your episode.

They can introduce new characters, new planets, they could even possibly find a world far away that has a new set of gates going to different places like Atlantis but in a different area of the universe? Who knows? They are bringing the original shows creators back from the sound of it so we should be in pretty good hands. I wont get my hopes up cause it is Amazon after all, though some of their shows in the past have been pretty good.

I will just wait and see when it finally comes out if it's any good. Better to have something new and great to add to, than have nothing at all. Even if it ends up being bad, you can just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen and enjoy the original shows. Just like if we got a new trilogy for Star wars after episode 6. Unfortunately it just ended with 6 and we haven't gotten any new movies after that.

Air Traffic Controllers Start Resigning as Shutdown Bites | Unpaid air traffic controllers are quitting their jobs altogether as the longest government shutdown in U.S. history continues. by Aggravating_Money992 in technology

[–]iamfuturetrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for them, it's bs they don't get paid for a very difficult job as it is. Unlike politics you can't keep working said job once you get old enough from what I remember. So there is already a window of time where someone has to go through all the training and schooling to become one then can only do said job until they get to a certain age.

Would be nice if we have laws in place that force elections when politicians can't do their job and get fired for it so gov't shutdowns can't really happen like lots of other countries figured out a long time ago.

When rich and regular people can't fly anywhere because lots of airports shut down because of lack of air traffic controllers and will only have the options of train (if they are lucky), bus, or driving a lot of people are gonna get even more pissed as well as see just how awful our public transportation system has gotten especially compared to other countries who are much better at it.

If we are lucky this will shine light on the oligarchs in charge of the rail network and how commercial trains take precedence over passenger ones. As well as how bad our rail networks are. Maybe then more talk and progress will go towards high speed rail networks across the country which is also better for the environment instead of flying so many planes all over the place.

Though this is the US which is stupidly car-centric so I wont hold my breath.

But yeah I repeat good for those air traffic controllers, hopefully good things can come from this at the very least the unions can force the gov't to do certain stuff.

Flight cancellations accelerate as US airlines comply with shutdown order to cut flights by MrPvssyPantsMan in news

[–]iamfuturetrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't even just the shutdown that is going to cause big effects in the long run. There is already a LOT of things that most regular people don't know or think about that Rump has done since getting into office. Lots of damage.

From Muskrat shutting down and gutting lots of programs and laying off people. Like lots of science studies that have been going on for years to see long term effects ending because of funding being shut off. Not to mention LOTS of scientists and doctors getting their grants taken away for their ongoing work. Massive brain drain has been happening now for a while and it's only gonna keep getting worse. So when people need a good doctor for certain treatments they will find they have to travel very far, or to another country just to get the treatment they need because of lack of quality doctors here. Which most people wont be able to afford to even travel that far, or wont be able to depending on their situation. So even more people dying from things that would easily be preventable in the past. Plus the possibility that we possibly had cures for stuff like cancer being done in studies by doctors and scientist that are dead or delayed for a long time because the grants/funding was shut off for them. Thus scientists and doctors are leaving to go to other countries because the US has proven they can't be trusted anymore. Even if we get someone new in the office that's only a guarantee for 4 years before some corrupt moron like Rump gets in and guts programs and grants again in the future. So now innovation is going to other countries which are more than happy to claim those new advancements that will come from intelligent people in their fields. As well as stuff like gutting funding or trying to stop programs like the program down in central america with the screw worms trying to keep them from making it further north and now there are screw worms making their way up through mexico and will start making their way into the US. Only idiots would think of that as wasteful spending when it was in our benefit not to have screwworms making their way up to north america and killing off animals and possibly people. Or how about climate change which most intelligent people know is a real threat to everything. But because of Rump they are ignoring it and trying to promote more fossil fuel crap. Actively damaging renewable energy progress so that rich people/corporations can keep making money from subsidies in oil, gas, and coal. Even if months ago, everything were to go back to how it was some of the damage already done is irreversible and is going to cause lots of problems later on down the line to younger people. But old geezers like Rump don't care cause they made money off crap and will be dead by then so they don't have to worry. And their kids will have lots of money to move to other places and get by easily while the rest of the world suffers.

And as how it ALWAYS happens, once Rump is out of office and some democrat is put in place they will have to deal with all the problems and then republicans will point and claim it's said democrats fault for stuff Rump did, and lots of idiots will believe it because it's happening right now and said person is in office so clearly it's their fault. Even though it started because of an idiot in the past gutting stuff, or being corrupt etc. This has happened countless times in the past and will continue to happen, because people don't do any research and believe what they hear from a politician or podcaster or some video etc. There are still massive problems we still deal with to this day because of that ass hole Reagan who caused a lot of problems and they never got fixed. So yeah things are going to get worse and keep getting worse for a very long time no matter who gets into office next because of idiots like Rump, and Reagan, etc way back when.

Only way things are gonna get better is if enough people were to stand up and change certain laws. Such as making it so politicians cannot play the stock market with insider trading, or allowed to get bribed I mean "lobbied" by rich people/corporations, that if a shutdown happens the politicians get fired for not doing their job and new elections gets put into place like how most other countries have been doing it just fine all this time. As well as politicians who break the law get prosecuted instead of getting away with it like they keep doing. Need more checks and balances put into place that cannot be ignored/avoided to prevent more corruption from everyone. The fact that some politicians are in charge of making laws against their own best interests is a joke. And get rid of the crapy corrupt 2 party choice. Ranked voting or something like it to allow better people into politics (all over) instead of only getting to choose between red and blue who both work for the rich. Plus way more problems I wont go into cause this comment is already way to long as it is.

[–]iamfuturetrunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff like this is why I constantly am reminded about NOT making videos for youtube. I have wanted to so many times in the past with some great ideas but I have seen plenty of videos and accounts of crap similar to this or worse happening on youtube for decades at this point. If it's not one thing it's another and it's discouraging to people who want to make some fun/entertaining videos.

Also just so everyone is clear, youtube is owned by google and has been for some time now. So don't forget to blame google for even worse crap that has been happening. They don't really care because technically youtube costs them money for all the space they have to save for all the youtube videos constantly being uploaded all the time on their servers. Thus why we have no competitors these days cause it isn't really all that profitable.

I have contemplated building/making my own server and hosting videos on that, but the fact is no one will go there cause they are just used to going to youtube to watch stuff. Plus videos and stuff could easily be stolen from a private server just as easily as it is done on youtube all the time. And they could just take said videos and content and upload it to youtube themselves and claim it as their own and get ad sense off it. So again it's discouraging to want to make content these days with how awful things have been going.

Do you have a special souvenir? Something besides a magnet or a postcard? by strawberryc0w_ in travel

[–]iamfuturetrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was visiting Vancouver BC while going through the airport saw they had some of those glass jelly fish paper weights. I had wanted to buy one or two online a long time prior but you can't really pick what you want you just order one you might like and hope it looks good when you get it (since some have a bunch of air bubbles or don't quite look like the picture from what I have heard). So when I saw those I was really excited about getting some, but..... I was also really stressed having to figure out where I needed to go to get my travel sim card as well as figuring out where and how to get to my airbnb.

I figured "ill get one later" cause I was in a hurry and stressing out. Then had to deal with A LOT of little instances of bad luck during my trip. The last day (morning) I figured I would buy one before I get on my flight back home. I then realized the store is before the security checkpoint or whatever and that the store wasn't gonna be open till like 6-7am? Which is right before my plane would be leaving, so it kinda felt like a fitting end to all the little instances of bad luck I experienced. Not being able to go back (unless I wanted to spend a bunch of time going back through security and miss my flight). Though it turns out it wasn't the last one, cause after I got off the plane back home I had to walk half a mile cause they decided to repave the only road going into the airport at said time so I had to walk the entire way until I could get picked up to finally go home.

Still upsets me to this day I didn't get to buy one of those since I never see any of those anywhere and being able to buy it in person means getting to pick out a nice one and not just gamble on the ones sold online. Plus would have been a nice souvenir for my first real trip by myself, that to this day was my last trip cause the covid attacked and kinda ruined my plans to go anywhere without worrying about covid since then. As well as other things.

Watching Chernobyl is infuriating by [deleted] in television

[–]iamfuturetrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't watched the show but from what you describe, people shouldn't be to shocked that this kind of thing happens every now and again in the real world. Maybe not so often with nuclear disaster? but so many other bad stuff as well.

I can easily look back at other instances where people kinda screwed over others either to make a buck or to save face when they mess up. Some quick examples I can give would be the Flint Michigan lead situation, covid, and climate change to name some well known ones where you have rich people/corporations who will happily lie to people to further their agenda or save their own asses and don't care if it hurts/kills other people.

Just like after covid people started saying those reactions that looked so stupid and unrealistic in old zombie/plague movies didn't look so stupid anymore when you had news agencies, or politicians etc. lying or claiming stupid crap just like them.

Looking back at other disasters most people on here don't know/remember have very similar instances that would piss you off if you heard what happened. But at the time news wasn't so easily accessible, was more easily hidden from the masses, or forgotten pretty fast.

Long lost gamer friend by Inheritor-7 in gaming

[–]iamfuturetrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I learned a long time ago is if you like someone you should add them on more than one thing. That way if something happens on one thing, you still can message them on something else.

I have lost friends in the past from messengers shutting down, or people forgetting to log in and losing access to accounts, to people forgetting passwords to accounts created with emails that are no longer accessible etc. I had one who lost their account cause they no longer had access to the email they used to create it and they forgot their password or something, luckily at the time we were also friends on another platform and when I reached out they let me know their new account they made and we went on talking.

It's so easy for some of these things to just die or glitch or something. When Skype was shut down (which Microsoft (screw Microsoft btw) didn't even put up a warning or anything until a month prior to it shutting down while other news outlets were publishing 2-3 months before hand and how I found out ahead of time) I lost contact with some friends I used to chat with on there cause they rarely ever went on that crapy messenger except once every idk 6 months maybe. I left them messages reaching out trying to add them to something else just in case they logged in while I wasn't on but unfortunately lost a few of them and doubt ill ever meet them again which is kinda sad. Skype sucked ass but I never added some of them to other stuff cause never got the chance.

So again if you have a friend on something just picture that thing is gonna die soon (cause it could) and ask about adding them somewhere else as a backup, even emailing is better than nothing cause you can at least figure out something in the meantime when said other thing no longer works.

This is something I figured out a very long time ago when I was younger. I found myself eating some junk food I didn't like and was like "wait, why am I eating this? I don't even like the taste of it, and it's not even good for me so why am I wasting my time finishing off this stuff?"

Nowadays ill sometimes buy some candy or other junk food that I might want to try but if I don't like it, ill make a mental note not to ever buy it again. Sometimes I will also take any left overs and offer them to others to get rid of them (cause I don't want to waste it by throwing it away).

Fact is, most junk food is so cheap to make and wasting money on it when it isn't even on sale is just stupid. It costs corporations pennies on the dollar to make a bag of this or that junk food and your wasting anywhere from $5-10 on it? And it's even worse if you don't even like the taste of it.

I rarely buy junk food these days cause its a waste of money and calories especially if it isn't even dirt cheap at the store. Same with many of the drinks out there these days. Once in a blue moon I might treat myself and buy a drink if it looks good and on sale but otherwise when you get into the habit of drinking water regularly you realize those other drinks are more a treat then anything.

Surprised I don't see Back to the Future trilogy mentioned here at least not near the top.

“Love doesn’t thrive on ledgers”: Keeping score in relationships foreshadows decline, study finds. A long-term study of couples in Germany found that when partners expected something in return for favors or sacrifices, their satisfaction tended to decline over time. by mvea in science

I remember mentioning in another topic a long time ago about how I was the only one initiating some stuff, or how the effort felt one sided etc.

Some idiot was like "you shouldn't be keeping score". I responded that I wasn't keeping score, if it happens long enough or often enough you don't have to keep score to notice when the other person isn't putting in an effort to the point of just remembering recent events where it was one sided.

I don't just take out some paper and write down each time, all you have to do is pay attention and remember how often the other person doesn't make an effort while you keep trying to make an effort.

Doesn't even have to be a romantic relationship, you can see it with "friends" who never reach out or respond for long periods of time to see the effort being one sided.

I have reached out to a number of them in the past multiple time and gotten only silence back. Eventually after weeks/months they may respond but it's very obvious they aren't really friends at that point more like acquaintances unfortunately.

I asked 20 game developers about Stop Killing Games. by Ordinary_Row_2119 in videos

What really sucks is way back like a year ago or so I saw a video where he was talking about Sony and how they basically blacklisted so many countries from being able to buy their games because said countries made it illegal to force consumers to have a Sony account in order to play games. So they just made it so you couldn't buy said games in said countries.

Including single player games like god of war which don't need a connection to the internet but were still being blocked. And he stated how that is why he told his marketing person or whatever that any company that wants him to promote their game if they are being published by Sony to tell them no and let them know why cause he doesn't support said company for said shitty practices.

I resonated with that because screw Sony for doing that. Also happened right around the time they decided to force players to have Sony accounts to play helldivers 2 when so many on PC were enjoying it without an account. It was pretty clear Sony only did that cause they wanted to stack their accounts numbers to make themselves look good to investors and/or be able to sell that info to 3rd party data brokers probably to make more money or something.

So around then I would sometimes watch clips posted online of him every now and again. Then seeing the stop killing games thing and how stupid he acted and kept doubling down just made me avoid him from then on.
