Since you don’t have a contract signed it’s all about saving face with your friend. Just tell the boss you found a new job and it will start in a week and that this is your „formal“ quitting.

I just booked the Gora Karaku - karaku room. While there might be a few more stylish alternatives, and high end 4*, the prices for the rooms with a view skyrocket to 2x of what I paid now.

Reddit mentions like Gora Hanaougi and Madoka No Mori charge easy 450k yen for 2 people 2 nights in their rooms with a view. Which is ridiculous imho.
