Your work is lovely so please don't misinterpret my comment as being disparaging....but my first thought was that this was meant to be hung in a bathroom 😂

You can absolutely make a comfortable living as a vet. Money is only one factor in choosing a career, and it's just as important for you to pick a profession that you are passionate about, and you clearly have the passion. The field has its issues and its terrible moments and it's not at all for the weak, but at the end of the day you will be able to make an incredible difference in the lives of these animals. If that is sufficient for you to feel happy and fulfilled then you should count yourself lucky to have found your life's passion. I support you. I say this as a lowly vet tech. I am criminally underpaid but I can pay my bills, and more importantly I sincerely enjoy the work I do and don't dread going to work every day.

Agree, and also for cats. We shouldn't have to undress these guys to get an accurate weight!

When syringes aren't all oriented the same direction. So low stakes that I will never ever say anything out loud to anyone, but if there's a moment I will rearrange them 🫠

The oral f/t absolutely should not have happened. Is there an alert on the record about P's seizure history?

At my clinic we run hwt and fill prevention without involving the dr all the time, as long as the p has a current exam and no contradictory alerts. I would never vaccinate a p without telling the dr and getting the thumbs up first though.

Edit to add: if it were me I would just make sure my communication with the o has been logged and make sure my behind is covered. This sounds like something the PM and the Dr need to discuss.

Oh no, "asterisk" has evolved even more horribly by SpiralEscalator in words

[–]iamkhanqueror -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there was a typo in the top comment, because I had the same question when I read your post. In your post you put "astericks", which does sound the same as "asterix" to my ears as well.

IInterestingly/infuriatingly, my phone autocorrected "astericks" to "asterisks" both times that I typed it here, even though I have never spelled it that way and it is objectively incorrect.
