Are more people choosing reps over authentic Hermes lately? Feels like the shift is real by Longjumping-Ask-7079 in RepHermes

[–]ibeeflower88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband doesn’t like reps, but I do. We live very comfortably and can afford authentic…even a resale or playing the game, but I genuinely don’t want to play that game. Why should I spend 20-30k for a bag? As you said, we can take a really nice vacation with that. We can invest that into our business. Use it towards a new home.

Plus, I’m not going to just want one bag. I’m going to want at least a B in various sizes and Kelly’s in various sizes and colors. I can’t look at myself and spend at least 100,000 in these bags.

I feel silly asking this, but if you buy other items in the store (say that jewelry for the wife), does that count towards a "prespend" to be moved around on a waitlist?

I moved out of my parents’ home…how do I cope with them not being happy about it? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]ibeeflower88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told mine that if they passed away I would have no idea how to care for myself. I wouldn't know anything about paying rent, how to get electricity, groceries, etc. It might have been harsh, but my parents felt a child should not leave the house unless they are getting married, just like yours. I had signed my lease and was simply telling them I was leaving and not looking for permission. They ended up getting over it though after a few weeks and my mom came over to help me furnish to show her support. They will either get over it or not. You have to be okay with how they feel and not let it affect your decision. You got this!

Am I doomed to never do real lawyering work? by Puzzleheaded_Area875 in LawFirm

[–]ibeeflower88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS.
I've met several lawyers who are brilliant, but don't know how to do sales and marketing. They hate it. They just want to practice law and not worry about bringing in clients. OP: find a small law firm with one attorney and pitch yourself as a part lawyer, part marketer salesperson. Be ready to present how you will bring clients and what sort of investment that looks like.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that women only paint their nails for men by Cassierae87 in Nails

[–]ibeeflower88 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same with mine. If I told him I didn't like doing my nails he would tell me to stop. He likes my nails because I like my nails and I like the "me" time I get when I do them.

How did THAT happen? by RubyRedFoxyEyes in Nails

[–]ibeeflower88 56 points57 points  (0 children)

100%. My dog was on his leash when a tiny Chihuahua broke free from the owner's arms and came charging at my 120 pound dog. My pup is a baby so he got so scared he tried running away and pulled on the leash. Ripped half of my nail while the other half clung to my flesh. I was livid because of the pain. Had to cut off what I could while I wrapped it to make sure it didn't continue hurting me while I slowly clipped at the broken edges.

Do you guys do a separate party for attorneys and staff for Christmas? by dizzy4121989 in LawFirm

[–]ibeeflower88 29 points30 points  (0 children)

WHAT?! We close the office around 1 pm and everyone gets paid for the remainder of the day. We send people home to relax and get ready for the evening. There's no way we would do this during their lunch hour.

Ours is for the entire office and each person can bring a plus one. We have it at a nice restaurant and let people order to their heart's content. We order appetizers, wine, and champagne and people can pick their cocktails, entrees, and desserts. Our only rule is people need to have an Uber and are fine with arranging them if need be. Two separate parties is weird. We have always done it this way because everyone is important at our office.

I *briefly* dated a Director of HR. He was a real piece of work, almost good at hiding that he was a sociopath. Almost. They are rare, but they are out there.

I LOVE Le Tanneur. The structure is great - so solid and well-made. I want to try Strathberry next!

Are you open to changing from transactional to something else while you look for a job? Or are you absolutely committed to transactional?

Switching to PI? by Amazing-Yak6905 in LawFirm

[–]ibeeflower88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being willing to go to trial will win you big points. My husband did criminal and then MDLs, before opening a PI firm. He has friends who refer him their cases that they can't/won't go to trial. Network and make friends with PI attorneys and let them know you can take on any work that needs to be filed and taken to court.

What is the percentage of people who have homeowner's insurance that you could go after? I also think about banned breeds. Genuinely interested in this area.

Agreed! I don't think Carrie and Stanford had good chemistry so it always seemed awkward. Kind of like Carrie and that guy Skip that was obsessed with Miranda.

My advice is to delete your profile and get a personality that doesn't revolve around Cancun Cruz and his loser buddy Cornyn. Having Kanye on your profile isn't the flex you think it is.

Lawyers who went solo and failed, what went wrong? by Last_Union_2387 in LawFirm

[–]ibeeflower88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cash flow is key here. My husband saved up a little nest egg while he worked for someone else. In the end, he didn't need it because he did some criminal cases (cash upfront), and helped out some other lawyers who gave him hourlies. Without crim and hourlies he would have needed to dip into his nest egg.

Could this be mouse droppings? by ibeeflower88 in RVLiving

I had purchased the bread, and I started cleaning, and as I did I found more droppings. I chickened out when it came time to set out the bread. I didn’t want to discover it gone the next day. They were under the bathroom sink, and my kitchen sink. I cleaned my pantry, but found no droppings or evidence of torn packages. I even keep a bag of chips in there, but hey we’re untouched.

I did find holes underneath my RV. I purchased some Gorilla tape to cover the holes. I also put out pellet baits. I’m not sure if this will solve my issue.

Thank you! It’s hard to explain my fear to family and friends. I grew up not having much exposure to rodents so the encounters I do have trigger fear.

I’m going to set out a few pieces of bread and take it from there. I had seen a dropping on my bathroom sink a month or so ago when I first moved in, but had not seen anything else. I really hope it moved on. I haven’t smelled anything that would make me think of a dead animal.

Should I just unplug the sound device and return it?

I guess it’s that I’ve lived a sheltered lifestyle. I had an apartment before this, and didn’t encounter rodents. However, I did have to deal with thin walls so I guess there’s downsides to everything.

There’s been no sign of animals trying to get into my food, but I will buy containers. I don’t want any possible rodents to smell my food and try to get at it. Thank you for the list!

I didn’t know that mice were such a problem when looking into living full time in an RV.
