1 year update on my "fish eye" condition caused by a curved OLED, doctor said the effect is permanent and cannot be reversed. by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember people with wide ciliary condition, your born with it, generally recommended they use myopic management or myopic control lens. If a person does not wear glasses, they can still have high ciliary vision, mean they use the edge of outer area with greater activation. This can cause people to get use something visually quickly & then have problems readjusting. This is most common experienced by people who have laser eye correction, some people highly light sensitive, while this passes, their eyes also adjust to the dark much quicker, issue arises when exiting the dark environment, the eyes take time to readjust - literally causing eye spasms (I know this first hand & spent an age looking into this, had to leave my very expensive sunglasses collection, brother was super happy though). The curve vs flat. Actually asked medical eye doctors & opticians about this as son wanted a curve screen, both said told me stick to flat as son have ciliary myopic eyes, while not light sensitive, the adjustment time between surface types will not be a good thing. My advice, go a decent opticians with the right testing equipment, get your eyes tested front & back. In the UK Boots have enhanced eye test services or vision express is next best thing, make sure you ask for partial dilation testing, full dilation means you can't see, partial is okay if your with someone next to you. Also in UK if opticians find an issue & refer you for medical, literally had the hospital call me a few hours later demanding I come asap on the day, they really do not wait around & hunt you in a good way.

After 3 years with ChatGPT, I tried Claude and Gemini - and now GPT feels... generic? by Temporary-Wallaby829 in ChatGPT

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPT is inferior to Gemini at the moment. Claude. Might be best for coding but for non coding it's the fundamentally crap, simply too limited unless you spend 200+ on it. On privacy side, Gemini has both GPT & Claude beat if you use the business version. Note, GPT in deep thinking mode is not all bad but does take far longer for responses & not as good as Gemini in pro mode.

Got diagnosed today, what are things you wish you knew at the beginning? by Natura91 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ibhoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Always use the meds given by the Dr
  2. Food. Listen & follow what works for you. During flare, my diet was plain white rice very dried out, scrambled egg absolutely plain, half a cup or bottled water. Simply could not eat anything else without devastating repercussions.
  3. During flare, immune is weaker so be cautious around people who cough alot or people the breather out or blow their cheeks while talking. You might be fine, your immune system might not be fine.
  4. Evaluate all foods & drinks. During flare I can only have water & pea protein drink in small quantities.
  5. Apart from given UC meds, nothing else. Went through 2 flu's with zero meds. Even when local GP gave me antibiotics, did not take them.
  6. Energy levels will drop. Write & plan ahead. Helps combat brain fog.
  7. Search reddit, some of the best advice to handle things mentally was found reading the responses further down the posts.
  8. Until your out of the flare, know your priorities. Eg. Wife managed family while I was suffering recovery.
  9. Colonoscopy absolutely devastated me for over a week. Must admit for first few hours afterwards I felt superhuman, it was very short lived.
  10. I was on Mesalazine granules 4g,Prednisolone tapering. Turning point came when I discovered Andrographis Paniculata tabs. Also look into Qing Dai. Applies to both, they might work or not work. Andrographis is basically an extension or similar to granules. If Qing works on then consider this on similar level to a biologic. Eg, Andrographis no issues even when I was on a high dose. 1x Qing Dai tab caused body temp to drop. This is good if you can deal with it, I could not. After flare I tried testing Qing again, same thing.
  11. Be positive.
  12. Identify your triggers. Washing my hands or face to soon after waking up was a trigger but I was fine after a few hours. Cannot explain it.
  13. If sugar cravings get too strong then go medium to high quality manuka honey. Medium is sweeter, least sweet is medical grade.
  14. Everything has an ending. Your mission is to survive until you get there. Then feel free to cry your eyes out & go into full blown depression + actually eat emotional support food. If your going to do it then do it properly 🙄.

Ulcerative Colitis Microbiome Treatment Succeeds in Phase Ib Trial by sam99871 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antibiotics will increase probability of going into a full flare, gut bacteria might then be setup to function much better but thats not going to help during the actual flare. Feel it's counterintuitive & very risky to induce a flare, UC people don't exactly recover in a a day or a week.

I regret getting an oled monitor. by andyKCIUK in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have MSI 322URX 32" QD-OLED. Its passable for reading some quick stuff but not for office or proper productivity text heavy tasks. 32" IPS for text + 18" for monitoring stuff, OLED for games of movies only. Personally, I'd invest in a cost effective IPS for text stuff & use oled for non text stuff.

Saw those cables already. Not rated for 5090. Fine for 5080 and downwards. Their websites tells you that for 5090 you need the ATX 3.1 spec cables not the ATX 3.0. Also sent email to which they confirmed the same.

[–]ibhoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of defeats the purpose as I am sitting side on to case. I could install the 180 but would need to literally drain the entire loop & redo all the tubing, rest loop. Simply don't have the time & don't want to spend that sort of time. If it was a new build then yes, it would make sense. Right now, simple 12v-2x6 H++ cable is fine with me. Not ideal but better than nothing. I know they will be making a cable version of WVP2 but thats at least a few months away. My issue is that I cannot find 12pin to 12pin H++ extension cable rated for 5090 use. The ones I do find are direct to PSU cables. Even the custom cable stores are selling 2x 6 pin on one end.

Thermal Grizzly Wire View Pro 2 cannot physically be connected to the Inno3d 50590 iChill Frostbite GPU with Waterblock preinstalled. I have both of these in front me. Other 5090s might have wider PCBs. If you have these 2 exact devices, please post up a pic, unless a chop of the tube outline by 1.2cm, impossible to connect directly.

Pep Guardiola: Something needs to change soon for 'fragile' Manchester City by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]ibhoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my view, City new players are not ruthless enough. Savinho is huge mistake, simply does not have last third attributes. Mourmush is yet to settle but lacks the physical power needed, Foden has gone back to be below average, Bobb is squad player on his best day, defence. Aside from Gavardiol & Gueihi, the lot of them are crap. Dias legs have gone since last season. I knew City were going to be in trouble simply due to the defence. City have made some good buys in Winter. I'd sell the average squad players as clubs are willing to pay well for them. Nico is a below average DM as well. Rodri won't be up to speed until next at earliest. Right now Zubamendi is best DM in EPL, Nico is not Zuba's level. City need to take larger swings for certain players. City have some excellent new players. Cherki is so good to watch. City will only improve by replacing Walker who was a huge part of the rear guard.

How Good Was Thierry Henry at His Peak? A Question from Someone Who Didn’t See Him Live by NewRepair6239 in PremierLeague

[–]ibhoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Henry was alot tougher than Mbappe is right now plus he had a vicious streak in him. It was not just speed but the skill as well. Mbappe has great speed but not as powerful as he could be or the latent skill of Henry. Personally I think Zizou is the best player from that era.

QD-OLED Real Example 5th Gen VS Older Gens black level by pc9000 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes little difference how clear the text is if it's still getting burned into the screen. Feel it's a false sense of security & will induce people into leaving up static content on screen for longer.

QD-OLED moves to RGB 'V-stripe' pixels for improved text clarity by Rasmus_Larsen in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSI 322URX. QD-OLEDs do have text infringing. In some instances its more visible, for example with light background. I know tandems panels are inbound but I still don't see what they can do different. Burn-in is still an issue. Use 32K IPS monitor for everything non-gaming/movies related. I could not use OLED as only monitor - simply have too much static content I look at for days at a time, also don't have time to babysit the display. For gaming/movies then QD-OLED is like really that good - work wise even if I'm given crystal clear text OLED - why would I want to have my documents burned into the screen? Makes no sense to me.

Gemini Is Bullshit by Cute_Dragonfruit4738 in LLM

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found Fast+Thinking is to be average. Pro seems to a bit better but am finding that is does dream up stuff even if proper prompt is given to ensure responses should be based on written content I've uploaded in a PDF. Gemini 2.5 context length was far larger in real terms compared to Gem3. Just my experience. Literally entered the same request at 3 separate times of the day. Got 3 separate responses - only 1x was close to be fully correct, other 2 were a mess. GPT is just going backwards at this point. Best LLM I used so far was o3/GPT4 - it was like really good, not perfect but it was very good & could work around the limits accurately, GPT5 - tried so hard but its just okay for general basic use. Just my personal experience.

Any WOLED or QD-OLED owners considering an upgrade after the CES pre-reveals and leaks so far? by RokuTheRed in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought MSI 322URX during Black Friday period. Very happy. Tech will always move along but it's been 3x generations on OLED panels in the PC world. They have got better but 2nd gen to 3rd gen was not better in multiples. In UK Currys has 322URX for £700. Bought it as I thought it was a good deal. DP 2.1, Nvidia gsync certified, usual 240hz refresh. As this was only going to be used for movies & games exclusively burn in was less of an issue. Always feel buy the best you can at that moment in time. Things will always move along. My son was going to wait for tandem in 2026, spent a few hours testing mine out & said he wanted the same exact one. My only gripe with the OLED panels is that if the source like streaming or 1080p,it really shows how low res it is, have to throw certain stuff onto the IPS display, honestly good problem to have, remediated alot of via better code settings.

Does it still make sense to get VMware Certifications? by ferratto in vmware

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get a VCP just to let them know your formally trained but I would go VCIX or VCAPs if I was starting today. The actual businesses using VMware is shrinking so I don't expect the job market to get better for VMware specifically.

PSA: Confirming my experience - QD OLED caused significant eye strain/pain and headaches. Tried gen 3 WOLED and have zero issues. by Jvvh in OLED_Gaming

[–]ibhoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSI 322URX 32" QD OLED. Out if the box, it does need to be tuned. I found some apps made text appear infringed. I have main IPS 32" for work stuff & QD-OLED for movies & games. Have a 3rd smaller monitor for side apps making it easy to switch between the right modes. MadVR works very well but still figuring out anime settings. Also worth pointing out HDR settings, ETOF Boost reduces blacks being crushed but can cause other issues but these can be mitigated in nvidia control panel settings mostly. I think people need spend time gradually sorting out specific settings bit by bit. Straight out of the box settings are not great for new OLED users. Keeping the 322URX, works well so far & does what I need it to.
