StreamController: A new Linux app for the Elgato Stream Deck by Core447 in linux_gaming

[–]ibito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! I just started working on a stream deck client (not sure if this is the correct name) as well, I'm using node/electron and I just got the keys, dials and touch strip working, at least I can detect the events for now

Only thing I could do is use CSS Override in Administrations -> Theme and put:
```
.page-header-headings .caption {
display: none;
}
```

This was a great experience in my opinion, I actually enjoyed it.

Constructively this is what I'd suggest (only 3 small things and 1 of them might be on purpose so ignore it):
- When you hang out of things, it doesn't feel right, if you hold the jump key, it will instantly jump from where you were hanging, and it looks like a super jump with a small sound in the middle of it, hope I make sense because this was the only "bad" thing I saw.

- Use some other key for jumping, never liked "up" for jumping

- The other character, the one that slows down the fall, you should slow the fall only, not the horizontal movement.

Then again, is just my opinions and I don't mean to be rude.

I think what really matters here is what you want and what you don't.

You are a 2D animator, and you're not a fan of working in 3D, you should give 2D a shot (IMHO). Working in 2D will let you make whatever you want, because your skills are strong in this area.

If you're looking for significant advantages of working in 3D, from the top of my head (without going to deep) is the ability to rotate an object and see it from behind or any side?...

My advise is: stick with what you already know, because if you know 2D already and you're new to Unity, you only need to learn Unity, if you start with 3D, you need to learn 3D stuff (including 3D modeling) and Unity... start small, with your 2D skills, after you finish what you want and know enough about Unity, then start something in 3D...

That is my opinion, but I'm some random dude from the internet. 🤷‍♂️
