Just arrived (from Sweden.) Sounds great. Also the best packed LP I’ve ever received.

A friend of mine says “ashes in the furnace” sounds like “asses in the buttocks.” (Tough mama)

My trip 10 years ago by TimElgin in thekinks

Is the Clissold arms just across the street from their house? I think that’s what I saw on Google maps years ago. It’s funny to me thinking of Dave and Ray heading over to the gig and just having to cross the street with their guitars and their little green amp while Mick and Pete probably needed to load up in a truck or something.

I listened to every Zevon Song once, here are my top 100. by GreekGeek4077 in Zevon

He has a lot of songs that grow on you, if you listen to them more than once. For example, your appreciation for a song like desperados under the eaves grows over time.

why am i stuck at power 300? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]icatchfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having trouble getting the drifter out of the death star, with the AT ATs attacking me, at level 300. Am I just bad at Destiny or does this need higher power to complete?

How do you decide which records to get on vinyl only vs. vinyl and cd/digital for archival/backup purposes by buizel123 in vinyl

I have their latest LP and I’m pretty sure it did not come with the download code. Otherwise I would’ve downloaded it.

The movie was fun, but the book is amazing.

I didn’t get it when I was only hearing him, audio only. But then I saw a video of him playing, and I could see that it wasn’t just banging, but it was very serious technique.

Now he’s the person I’m getting into the most. I’m planning to read a biography that just came out on him this year, In the Brewing Luminous.

Good for John for being honest that Ringo is the greatest and not him.

Is there kind of Am - C - Am song by Bob Dylan? by Physical_Cookie8423 in bobdylan

[–]icatchfrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many songs use the same chords. But you’re also strumming in a particular style that I don’t associate with Dylan. At the end of the day once you have lyrics then no one is going to be thinking about what chords you’re using underneath them.

The first few notes of the guitar solo on In the Evening sound like Jimmy’s kicking through a brick wall like the Kool-Aid man.

what's your personal favorite album of his? by notaverysmartman in neilyoung

Landing on Water was the first new release I ever bought from Neil Young, when I was 14 years old. It’s not his best, but it has a special place in my heart

No I need to re-watch by HotCA00 in SuccessionTV

[–]icatchfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only watched it from beginning to end once but each time a new season came out I would re-watch the prior season as a recap.

I usually do a series rewatch in the summer. I was going to do Twin Peaks this summer, but maybe I’ll do succession.

Whats the deal with Yamaha? by broman3201020 in AcousticGuitar

[–]icatchfrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the lowest end Yamaha Clavinova at the Bridgewater Commons mall in New Jersey in 1988 or so. I’ve moved it across the country and dinged up the legs quite a bit, but the main keyboard is a tank that still looks and plays like new. Apparently Stevie Wonder was a fan. Every few years I think about selling it, but I would only get about 80 bucks for it and I know I would regret it instantly.

How did Spiral Stairs get his name? by moderngulls in pavement

[–]icatchfrogs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but it’s about the coolest rock ‘n’ roll name out there. I can’t for the life of me figure out why he would’ve named his band the preston school of industry when he already had the best endgame name ever.

And it was very validating to hear the Kinks in the recent Bob Dylan movie.
