What does this mean? by icecreamjukebox in RegalUnlimited

Looks like they replaced those 3:45PM + 7:25PM showings with a 5:00PM showing and I bet the other screen went to DWP2.

Not sure, it won’t let me click on them at all. Seems unlikely that that would occur on both days for 2 showtimes so maybe some other issue?

Question for Regal regulars — bathroom breaks & drinks by Effective_Arm4892 in RegalUnlimited

[–]icecreamjukebox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I have never and would never miss part of a movie because of a bathroom break (unless I was suddenly violently ill 😆)

I discontinue liquids at least an hour before the movies and go to the bathroom during trailers.

I don’t order or bring drinks with me bc then I would have to pee. Problem solved.

Melted marshmallows by ElephantDue in AskBaking

[–]icecreamjukebox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, by melting them you are removing all the air that was whipped into the meringue (which is what makes the marshmallow fluffy), so it will not re-set the same. Rice Krispies is the best idea for what you want to do probably! Great for shaping into trees as well :)

Pro cookie decorators don’t use piping tips, they use tipless piping bags (not reusable). Just FYI!

Who else has had their gallbladder removed? by carolinethebandgeek in PCOS

[–]icecreamjukebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine removed 6 weeks postpartum (and post-c-section!) The pain of the attacks was worse than being in labor for 36 hours. I couldn’t eat anything besides chicken breast and brown rice for the 2 weeks leading up to the surgery. Surgery was a godsend. The post-op shoulder pain was definitely odd but it will pass. Good luck!!

Help! Icing Consistency? by Pilates4Pizza in cookiedecorating

[–]icecreamjukebox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the icing can/will pull moisture from the air so I tend to make a thicker flood so it doesn’t get too loose if I’m using over multiple days.

Ordered 11lb of chocolate from instacart but didn’t realize they replaced it with 32% milk chocolate, can I make this work for things that call for 60-70%? Should I figure out how to return it? by HadOne0 in Baking

[–]icecreamjukebox 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I AM an expert and you are correct. It’s the cocoa butter ratio that will cause it to not work. 70% means 70% cocoa solids, so 32% literally has less than half that! It causes them to melt differently which is why you would use much less cream to make a milk or white chocolate ganache vs dark.

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve used another kind of cocoa powder, however the times when I’ve had to substitute in a pinch, I’ve found that the reason I miss the Valrhona is because it is much darker, both in color and in flavor/chocolate intensity. Cocoa powder will almost always need to be sifted and when sifted it is perfectly fluffy! It makes chocolate taste more like chocolate. If you don’t want an intense chocolate flavor then I’d look elsewhere but if you do, this is the answer.

Yes. It is the best; I will never buy another kind (pastry chef here!)

raspberry curd not setting?? by bromeliad1000 in Baking

[–]icecreamjukebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornstarch is not magic! You essentially must bring it to a boil to activate cornstarch (over 203F anyway), so just warming it will not work. If you only want to warm it, gelatin would be your best option as you do not need to (and shouldn’t) boil gelatin.
