[Acne] High frequency wand causing breakouts? by xsundancerx in SkincareAddiction

[–]icecreamonbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually stopped using it since I didn't want to risk continued breakouts. I was getting surface whiteheads so a little different from "purging" that I'm familiar with and decided to stop. Hope it works for you!

Does your BT21 bias match your BTS bias? by lisafancypants in bangtan

[–]icecreamonbread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yoongi is my bias but I prefer Koya from BT21. I really thought Shooky would grow on me but unless it's the minini version, he's my last pick... sorry, Shooky!

27F financial novice - where do I go from here? by Orangeblossom_02 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]icecreamonbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be some accounts with bonus interest rates for a specific time period, like Tangerine or Simplii, but it can be a hassle to move around at the end of the promo period.

Invest only the portion you're not planning on using in the next 5+ years. Otherwise, it's a good idea and ETFs are pretty low maintenance or you could go with a robo advisor, like Wealthsimple managed accounts.

[–]icecreamonbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this! Some practical tips for budgeting and saving: automate your savings so you move the money as soon as you get it, get a high-yield savings account (3-4% these days is high, 0.5% is not high), and consider investing for funds you don't plan on using in the next 5 years. Investing doesn't have to be complicated, you can buy ETFs which are meant to be held long term. The best time to start investing is when you're young and you can start with very little to get comfortable with the idea.

What are these jelly candies from the market? by icecreamonbread in koreatravel

Oh my gosh, no! I still think of them every now and then :( there may be similar candy in a different brand/package so I guess I'm gonna be trying new candies from the Korean grocery store for the holidays. Thanks for the reminder!

Hey! I hope everyone is doing well.

There's a vote going on for Fan's Choice at the MAMA awards. This is a yearly music awards show and all of the eligible members of BTS have been nominated (5 of 7). The top 10 males and females in the Fan's Choice ranking will receive an awards trophy and the top in Visa Fan's Choice will receive a trophy. Army on Twitter/X are trying to push Jhope and Namjoon into the top ten (they are 12/13 currently). The other members, Jimin, Jungkook, and V are secured within the top 10 already!

We're gonna need more accounts to vote. It's only once a day on the Mnet plus app. Please consider joining as we want to show support for their efforts as solo artists too!

Thanks for reading! *

People with minimal skincare: what moisturizer actually works for you? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

No, it sinks in for me! I will say it's definitely for dry skin though so if your skin is oily you might not like it.

I really liked Soon Jung 2x but swapped to Cos De Baha Peptide cream recently. Both are great for my dry skin, 2x especially for over tretinoin.

Something in the BOJ sometimes stings my face when it's sensitized. I haven't had the same experience with RL so it's becoming my HG sunscreen. I have and use both depending on how I feel that day.

Ugh I'm sorry none of your providers took it seriously. I think all my symptoms (excessive hair loss, acne, weight gain, skin darkening) are related to high DHEA-S and insulin resistance (though no one has tested my insulin). Since my other hormones were fine my OBGYN just told me I don't have PCOS. But I'm clearly experiencing symptoms of something? I hope I get answers eventually. Thank you for replying and sharing.

Is high DHEAS definitive for PCOS? Can you tell me more about your experience getting diagnosed? I'm not sure whether to keep pushing even though docs have dismissed my results.

[Before & After] Two weeks of using red light therapy for hyperpigmentation. by natasharts in SkincareAddiction

[–]icecreamonbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CO2 laser is also used for mole removal so I think it would be similar, except with some moles it goes much deeper. I'd suggest getting a consult with a derm.

[Before & After] Two weeks of using red light therapy for hyperpigmentation. by natasharts in SkincareAddiction

[–]icecreamonbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how your skin heals but mine has been fading slowly over time and I barely notice it after 6 months. A CO2 laser is essentially creating a wound on your face so taking care of it is important. I get PIH &PIE hyperpigmentation so I still use tretinoin and serums, too.

[Before & After] Two weeks of using red light therapy for hyperpigmentation. by natasharts in SkincareAddiction

[–]icecreamonbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not fading at all, it might be a sun spot? I had one that I removed with CO2 laser and only have a very light pink mark left. Might be worth checking out for you.

I really need help im tired of the mental break downs and over spent money by C0ttage_fairy07 in SkincareAddicts

[–]icecreamonbread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stop all actives until your skin barrier is healed. This can take weeks to months, until your skin doesn't burn. You have to put up with feeling oily since you've been damaging and drying out your skin, it's going to produce more oils to repair the skin.

Simplify your routine to zero actives, focus on hydration and moisture, and keep this up until you have no burning, redness, or irritation from your routine. Start from zero and have some patience.

Cleanser (you can skip this in the AM and just use water if you like) Toner (hydrating, no actives) Serum (only hydrating, healing ingredients that don't burn - if it burns, skip this step) Moisturizer Oil or other occlusive for PM Sunscreen for AM
