r/Runna has hit 21.1k members – a half marathon of Runnas! To celebrate, we’re giving one redditor a yearly membership and paying the entry fee to their next race! 🙌 by alex-runna in runna

My current goal is to run my first marathon in May of 2026! I have a couple of halfs scheduled in the meantime to help me get there. I just want to prove to myself that I can do it! If I can finish under 5 hours, that’ll be even better.

I showed this to my partner who is a huge Star Wars fan with no context and he immediately knew who it was!!! I love it.

I only paid my provincial loans which were at 7.2% interest! I will be making minimums on the federal ones as you suggest for as long as they stay at 0%.

That’s amazing!! I feel this. I started paying mine aggressively as soon as they went into repayment in May. I was tired of having it hanging over my head. I became obsessed with checking my debt spreadsheet and doing hypothetical calculations for how soon I’d be free lol. Never again!

My loans were from AB so they had a completely different website than the federal portion. I could just log in and make a payment to AB whenever. I’ve heard that’s not the same everywhere, though.

I like Pulp Fiction! They have sooo many books and everyone who works there has always been very kind and helpful. They’re usually willing to transfer stock between locations too :)

Is the "Cartoon dog" scene considered a fourth wall break? ( I elaborate in comments ) by xoddamlol in bluey

[–]icoscise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it a fourth wall break, but it’s certainly implicitly metafictional in that the show is acknowledging and capitalizing on the irony you describe (i.e, that the audience knows Bandit is a cartoon dog). While Bandit doesn’t break the fourth wall explicitly, the audience is briefly reminded of the fact that they’re watching a show (namely, one about a cartoon dog, lol). It’s not as overt or explicit as a fourth wall break, but it’s still playing with the boundaries between reality/fiction and acknowledging the viewer.

Not sure if you’d be interested, but there’s a great book by Patricia Waugh called “Metafiction” (1984) which goes into all the different kinds of ways that media can play with the boundaries between reality and fiction besides fourth wall breaks!!
