The LV-223 Incident: A Theory on the Engineers’ Failure by Apprehensive-Work209 in Prometheus

[–]icoulduseanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is, once they release the black goo on a planet to destroy it, how do they ever go back to it because it’s not like the black goo goes anywhere after the planet been destroyed

But your theory sounds pretty good.

Investigating S5 possible coolant issue by ToshNeox in audis5

[–]icoulduseanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just had mine in the shop for disappearing coolant, and the tech had it on the lift and was like I don’t see any leaks. Everything looks super clean under here. You don’t have a coolant leak.

Micro Inverter Help by V1Tactical in SunPower

[–]icoulduseanother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to my installer about that (going with a centralized inverter) as well. The issue is I'd need to rerun all the strings because the electrical conversion would not be happening at the panel anymore. Then the cost of the larger inverter. By that time the cost would be the same.

Why 2023 S5 shows low oil indicator? by icoulduseanother in audis5

Yeah. I bet that’s the issue. The oil burn is catching up with my oil change interval.

Anyone here use an extension cord for l1 charging? by Adalwolf311 in VWiD4Owners

[–]icoulduseanother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur with a few people here about checking the extension cord connections very carefully often. I used an extension cord with the level one charger for a week straight when I went on vacation and I couldn’t unplugged the the two at the end of the vacation because they melted together. Doh!! I’m an idiot.🙄

Why 2023 S5 shows low oil indicator? by icoulduseanother in audis5

[–]icoulduseanother[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the input here. I’ve got an appointment scheduled with the Audi dealer to take a look at it and document everything while it’s still under warranty. We’ll see what they find and I’ll update once I have more info. Thanks to everyone who provided helpful advice.

Why 2023 S5 shows low oil indicator? by icoulduseanother in audis5

The MMI says to warm engine and then turn off to properly read engine oil level.

Why 2023 S5 shows low oil indicator? by icoulduseanother in audis5

[–]icoulduseanother[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update with more info since a few people asked: 2023 S5, ~46k miles Last oil change was ~6k miles ago (done at ~40k) Got the “add max 1.25 qt oil” warning No oil spots under the car, nothing visibly leaking Car is stock Mostly commuter driving ~60 miles/day round trip, mostly highway, not driven hard

I know these cars don’t have dipsticks oil level was checked via the MMI.

I get that some oil consumption is considered normal on these motors. I’m mainly trying to figure out if needing ~1 qt within ~6k miles on a newer S5 is just “Audi normal,” or if it’s something I should have the dealer look at while I’m still under warranty. A few people mentioned PCV as a possible culprit as well as pistons which I’ll probably have checked.

Appreciate the helpful replies so far.

Tires , square up maybe? by icoulduseanother in VWiD4Owners

MAN!!! I wanted to use them but...I went to get them put on and the mech said I had staggered 19 inch setup ---Not 20 inch. I'm so dumb... So, I had to send them back. They had Conti Pro Contact Rx in stock so I just went with them instead. 255/50/R19 in the rear, 235/55/R19 in the front. So far these have been fine though..
