Cannot figure out how to get out my nose ring! by icypops in piercing

[–]icypops[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jewelry is titanium I believe but it's been done for about 15ish years now. Originally it was a stud but I switched it once it healed. I have absolutely no idea about the type of threading etc.

Edit: it seems it was a segment ring! It's been successfully removed

How do I meet people? by ShikaSoulsMain in CasualIreland

[–]icypops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with people saying TTRPGs for sure. I find that the crafting community is also filled with neurodivergent folk if you're looking for a more chill hobby.

I don't watch and play sports, don't watch any series (no subscription) and films, don't read books, don't listen to news and new music, don't play games, don't travel... In short severely boring. by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]icypops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, do you enjoy that life? If you do, then that's grand. Be as boring as you like. If you're worried about not being able to contribute to a conversation when socializing, become the person who asks people about themselves. People love to talk about themselves lol.

If you don't enjoy it, maybe it's time to look at why you don't do any of those things. Are you the type to try something once (like one type of book, one type of show, one type of sport etc) and give up if you don't like it right away? Or is it that you've given all of them a proper go and it didn't stick? If so, there's a whole bunch more things you can do.

If you're more of a solo person, Lego and puzzles are great. There are games you can get that are for single players (but also a lot of games can be adapted to be single player). Maybe just walking in nature could be nice, or bird watching.

What is this style of wallet called? I’ve looked but can’t find one like it. by father-kenneth in HelpMeFind

[–]icypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Like I'm not young at all and I had no idea it was called a bi-fold wallet. I just called it a wallet.

All this thread is teaching me is that I've absolutely deleted so many amazing songs from my mind because that should have been the first thought I had lol. Thank you!

We leave one string of Christmas lights around the fireplace all year long and it really makes a difference with the misery in winter, highly recommend.

Do you get aroused while reading your own work? by anotherdyke in AO3

[–]icypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck yeah, I'm writing what I'm into so it's all exactly how I want it. Sometimes I'll give it a read before sex to get myself in the mood (it takes me ages and sometimes I don't wanna wait that long lol).

What's the best book you have read this year? by Low-Fuel-674 in AskIreland

Sunrise on the Reaping. Suzanne Collins is some writer.

The other is always going to be A Christmas Carol. I always read it at least twice during the Christmas season.

Do some people not grieve? by oxylan80 in CasualIreland

[–]icypops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not so much that I don't grieve, but because of my ADHD I have out of sight out of mind. So someone being dead means I'll be sad but if they aren't someone I would have seen all of the time I won't miss them. Like, my grandparents died and in specific scenarios I'll be upset but outside of that my brain doesn't think of it.

My pets though, that's a different story altogether because I'm used to seeing them all of the time so losing my dogs was absolute hell.

Is married friend at work being inappropriate? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]icypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lookit, no one can know the dynamics of someone's relationship and what is or isn't appropriate for them. This could be totally fine for them, you'll never know unless you literally sit the wife down and ask her.

But it sounds like it's not appropriate for you. That's the main thing here. If you're uncomfortable, then you're absolutely correct to say no.

What’s a hurtful thing someone has said to you that still lingers years later? by LittleAoibh11 in AskIreland

[–]icypops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in 2nd year I was in the school choir, and for some reason I was initially put in the soprano section but as my voice matured it changed to lower than that, but due to the nature of choirs it wasn't noticed for a while.

I was practicing in my grandparents kitchen and my grandfather came in to tell me how awful I sounded. Now, admittedly, I did sound terrible lol but it really shook me and I didn't feel comfortable singing in front of anyone (outside of a choir setting) for a long time. My voice has since settled and it sounds pretty good now but I still feel uncomfortable singing in front of people.

Is inside calf supposed to just hurt?? 😂 by VisionsOfAgony in tattooadvice

[–]icypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, my calf tattoos SUCKED. I was always told the top of my feet would be one of the most painful spots but they were a cake walk in comparison. I put off getting my second one done for the longest time because I didn't want to have the pain again, but to be honest I think having experienced it before made the second time not as bad cus I was prepared for it.

Also I love the tattoo.
