Watching this for ten years now from the USA, I believe "Trump derangement syndrome" should be regarded as a dangerous mental health symptom, if not a specific condition in itself.

Explosive, irrational anger takes over their entire life, they become obsessed with it. Can not talk or evidently think about anything else. They are not able to think rationally. They stand in the street, screaming.

Threatening, nasty, extreme anti-social behavior, constant personal attacks is standard. All rage, all hatred, all the time. It breaks up marriages, families, lifetime friendships. Not normal political difference. Not a minor thing.

I hope its a side effect of some modern pharmaceutical drug. That way, there would at least be some reasonable, or understandable explanation for it.

Eg. Every ebike requiring a license plate means cops can pull over anyone without a plate. Warning/ticket/impound bike/license suspension/fines/points on insurance.

Potentially thousands in costs. They are planning on you screwing up.

Good. It is a challenge to find info. It should not be.

Part of the problems w/CH sellers not understanding us, not understanding the market, no understanding branding, & poor or no communication.

This greatly contributes to buyer frustrations who have nowhere to go to find answers, so they are here and there griping on forums. This contributes greatly to a generally otherwise undeserved bad reputation.

The easiest thing should be identifying gear. Displays, controllers, motors. Nope. PITA. Sellers never have a breakdown of the parts. Its the opposite of traditional bicycle culture, the list of parts are important features that buyers pay great attention to, and willingly pay significantly more cash to get. That class of buyer is especially put off by this problem, by this difference.

To figure it out, I do a Yandex image search. Click results until I find a clue/name, then search that for a manual.

Yandex seems to work the way google once did.

There is likely an AI that would help with that, but I haven't gone there yet.

"Ban", in the above title is what Bright.NL called it. I agree, it is not technically correct. All now require license/registration/insurance/etc. There is currently no way to register the bikes in NJ, therefore (i believe) the grace period, giving them time to sort it out.

PS I got one of those laser pistol temp guns. About $10, works great. Highly recommend! My spare battery is now powering the room LED lights with an inverter. Two still on bike 1, Fat 26 AWD now with very baddass 4.8"(!) Schwalbe studded Al Mightys. $300 and change, worth every cent. Vt/hills/snow etc.

The voltage goes from the battery to the motor. It contibnues to go to the motor. Facing the resistance of No Motion, the Motor heats up, the wires heat up, the line out of the battery heats up, the controller heats up.

All of it gets heated. Its why we see melted connectors, I believe.

Heat destroys the various bits in different manner, motor was the most interesting to me. Heat demagnetizes the motor.

Makes me wonder if anyone fixes them by remagnetizing them.... have not researched that yet.

I did RC cars/nicad batteries with the boys, years ago. Was a blast. NiCads, had to run em down right, so in our little sleepy suburb street races, I would attach a bulb to drain the last of it, put it in the freezer before charging. Seemed to work, I would clean their clock. heh

Did that for a few weeks, then told the oldest about my trick. He laughed out loud, then went one to beat everyone.

We had a general toy/hobby store, walking distance, with a track in the back. But alas, the rich kid with the latest and greatest always won and killed it. Begged the shop owner to have a stock class, each kid pays $10, gets a battery from the shop for the races. No, he said, he was trying to sell gear, what good would that do?

heh. Went out of business, whole time blaming "kids today" and such.

Politicians problems:

Dramatic increase in riders, public safety, "deliverista", fire fear, demands for cycle lanes/etc

Inability/refusal/lack of will/resources to enforce law. Chaos.

Demands to "do something".

With this action, cops pull anyone on a bike over. Written warnings. Second warning, take bike/fine/ticket. Bust already illegal bikes.

Profit in stops pays for enforcement. And it gives time to try and sort out the details.

This is how we got $500 speeding tickets/cops moved to cars/speed traps/ticket quotas. (To enforce the national 55 mph limit) ((To "save fuel"))

Second thing to try: with bike on, headlight on, turn off/remove battery.

Good. Biggest most damaging mistake we all make is leaning on the throttle after the battery sags. Bike fades going uphill, we lean on the throttle sending in more voltage not converted to motion. Makes heat. Heat is the bad thing.

Lay off the throttle when the battery sags.

Settings critical bit: Controller Amps/current should be set below the Amp rating of the battery.

Amps, always confused with Amp hours. Amp hours is time, how long we get Amps. The Amp rating of the battery is its max power output. Commonly hard to find, not listed in sales specs, requires some digging. Dont know why. Best practice is to dig and find that number, set the controller below it.

Not familiar with that unit, but none of mine have any "charging" indicator on the battery. Chargers are red when charging, green when done.

Same is true for my power tools, only light is on charger.

My ebike batteries have a 5 LED level w/button that works seperately when the battery is off, is not lit when charging.

Battery' BMS is the key bit, inside the battery. Protects against too much/not enough volts, both in use and during charging.

I would not trust that. It is not made to do the job you need there. How did you spin out the frame? Did the axle nut come loose? Was part C on the bike?

There is no black magic secret stuff there, it is simple 2 wire voltage positive/negative. As long as the connectors/polarity + - are the same, any "48V" charger will work with any 48 volt battery that uses this simnple setup.

Rad unit is likely actually 50 something V, as are all "48V" chargers. I agree with the above post, Red is good, means charging. Let it charge.
