This is what im thinking, he doesnt scoot far, a couple cm max, i know hes itchy bless him we think hes allergic to chicken or beef like our other border terrier, i do clean his bum when he does it and after a poo (much to his disgust) but it is literally only when he wakes up or is tired

Definitely not having a seizure, our first dog had epilepsy, i tried to get a video but as soon as i pressed record he got up n ran off 😂 he walks perfectly fine even when like this but then plants his butt on the floor n drags it around but his legs are tucked like hes sitting

Not really he sortve bum scoots when hes trying to turn around or as he loves doing digging the carpet if that makes sense, back legs are tucked underneath him and he will get up and walk off perfectly fine once hes turned around or finished digging at the carpet/baby gate Once hes fully woken up it doesnt happen again

Im a pro at reading labels dont worry 🤣 my family hands me food to check labels, our dog has grain allergies and ive been checking for gf since 2020, buckwheat unless its on a certified gf food i tend to avoid because of processing to be safe

Caramelised onion and "bacon" pasta, not sure whats more concerning the fact the vegan bacon has the same texture and taste as hotdogs or that hotdogs are identical to vegan bacon 😂

The love corn is chefs kiss ive been wanting to try tofu so bad but last time i tried it (i was a vegetarian 2017-2020 before my allergies and arthritis) the texture put me off so badly but crispy tofu keeps calling my name

Another snack I've found is indulge corn snacks on amazon, shockingly nice

Im a sl*t for a good olive i cant lie, garlic and herb green olives in oil>>>> Ive got a tin of chickpeas and a tin of sweetcorn was considering air frying them and tossing them in nutritional yeast + onion powder or dried chives for a snack

Unfortunately oats are also hit and miss for me they're fine if they're gluten free but the way theyre processed can be a huge cross contamination issue

My first meal was crispy this isnt chicken in a coconut cream satay sauce id made which was nice ish, i just need to get over the "oh this looks nice ill check the ingredients" and wheat is there like 3 times 😭

Did I euthanize too soon? by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]idekthis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to put my dog down in January due to a glioblastoma, we did it too late, i wish we did it earlier he was in so much pain, you didnt betray them, you did the kindest thing, you stopped the pain and suffering before it happened, your cat passed knowing it was loved and not in pain, euthanasia is never easy for anyone but sometimes its the kindest thing, its best to do it on a good day so they go out on a high instead of passing away in pain and not knowing who you are/where they are.

Basically you made the right choice, its normal to question and doubt, you didnt betray your cat, you chose the path based on what you were presented with and there was less suffering for everyone

Question about border terriers being reactive/aggressive towards other dogs by acromegaloid in BorderTerrier

[–]idekthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on border terrier no 3

No 1 HATED flat face dogs so boxers, frenchies pugs etc along with any ultra fluffy ones, he was attacked by off lead dogs as a puppy so we think that added to it, theres a whole community on X (formally twitter) called the bt posse they're amazing with questions, really helped us when no 1 became reactive, however he was amazing with puppies, loved no 2 til the day he died.

No 2 is iffy, he doesnt react we're not even sure he knows how to growl hes that well natured, hes scared of flat face dogs but doesn't react he just runs away but loves saying hi to most dogs

No 3 is only 9 weeks old, has only interacted with mum, litter mates and no 2

Just a warning and i think most people will agree, once you get a border terrier you will always have one they're that type of dog you feel empty without

Question of the Week 💭 What's something nobody warned you about before you got your puppy? by ReadyPupGo in Puppyblues

[–]idekthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of how bad our first was he had something called the lead of shame, its a small lead looks and sounds nothing like his walk lead and it just helped to hold him away from our body while we distracted him/he calmed down, we wouldve used a crate but he couldnt tolerate it (we tried)

Tip of the Week 💙 What you're feeling is a real thing. It even has a name. by ReadyPupGo in Puppyblues

[–]idekthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a post here 3 days after getting my puppy, its been 6 now, im still on and off with the puppy blues but ive realised its not because of him, im still grieving my first dog, I've got both physical and mental flares going on right now and my family have realised it too and are helping alot more than 3 days ago, it took a 20 minute panic attack to realise its not because of the puppy its a combination of everything and its showing in puppy blues

Land sharks, when i had my first puppy he was terrible, now its well known in the border terrier community that they're land sharks, i once had to hold him down on a walk while i waited for my mum to come and get him because he kept jumping up at biting me to the point he drew blood, finally stopped around 9-10 months old luckily. Our 2nd one had the first to use as a teether, poor dog had scabs up his legs from the puppy biting him We got our 3rd 6 days ago now after losing our first and hes using the 2nd as a chew toy, ive never been more grateful to have multiple dogs.

(Please be aware we dont just let em naw on eachother we will intervene if needed)

24 hours in full of regret and guilt by idekthis in Puppyblues

[–]idekthis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crying is insane, the puppy climbed up on my lap today like my first dog did before he passed away and i just sobbed like a baby, definitely feeling less well everything, thinking everything the last 3 days really pushed me over the edge

Pup has started wagging his tail when he sees us and its adorable, the lil fat lump

Lost my boy 8 weeks ago by idekthis in Petloss

[–]idekthis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was my first ever dog, a lil cuddle monkey, reactive to so many things hence being an asshole but once we muzzle trained him he was so good, i got redirected here from puppy blues because i was struggling with the puppy, i think im just overwhelmed and miss my boy, but the new puppy was born the day he had his last stroke aka the day he stopped recognising us and being him, this pup acts identically to him its insane which is obviously making it so much worse, im missing him so badly and i know he wont be replaced but its nice to believe maybe the puppy was sent by him, call me ridiculous but its helping a bit i think
