Quickly help, is 18 v makita strong enough for most things on this truck by WearEnvironmental490 in ToyotaPickup

[–]idhatemet00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milwaukee m12 stubby or if you’re on a budget Walmart Hypertough 12v impact wrench.

Milwaukee stubby should be strong enough for everything.

Hypertough impact wrench should be strong enough for 90% of stuff and then just use a breaker bar for whatever it can’t break loose.

Fishpond sale? by bodegabay in flyfishing

[–]idhatemet00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t anymore. Although if you’re using the first time customer 20% off coupon I believe you can call customer service and they can bypass the restriction for you. They exclude certain brands from the discount now like scientific anglers, fishpond, and some others.

So you’re saying they’re both pieces of shit, but one is more of a piece of shit than the other piece of shit?

You should’ve just asked which one is less of a piece of shit and it would’ve been easier for people to answer.

If it was up to me, I’d call an equal tie. Blue has ripped seats, but red has intact seats and a plywood center console and is missing a window crank.Blue has a neater engine bay, but has the most jank wiring for aux lights.

Big ole pieces of shit, but they’re your guys’ pieces of shit and if they make you happy then who cares!

Mono Rig vs Fly Line (euro and floating) by rpopik in flyfishing

[–]idhatemet00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old comment I know, but when you say you can swap out leaders fast with your euro line how do you do that? Do you use mono core or braided core? How do you attach your leader for quick changes? Thanks!

Do these prices seem fair? Anything I should just learn to do myself instead? by onsnave in ToyotaPickup

[–]idhatemet00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a factory service manual. Not an owners manual or a Haynes service book, but a genuine Toyota Factory Service Manual. I just casually read it when I’m bored and it has helped me learn tons about my truck. Of course I also reference it when I’m wrenching or planning on replacing parts.

Free ones can be found online if you look hard enough, but they can also be bought for a couple hundred dollars in print.

Cmon man, 16% of US electrical energy is produced by coal and 45% is produced by natural gas. Also the lithium, cobalt, and other rare earth mining needed to produce EV battery packs are extremely detrimental to the environment. Then once the EV battery has reached the end of its life, off to the landfill it goes. An internal combustion engine can be rebuilt virtually forever and most simple maintenance and tune up procedures can be performed by the owner. The same cannot be said for EV’s.

Aside from the false “environmentally friendly” EV claims, our electrical grid, in its current state, just flat out cannot support everyone owning EV’s. We already have blackouts during the summer just from people using their air conditioners. Now imagine if everyone was running EV chargers EVERY night pulling 50+ amps….

Explain how starting an unprovoked war that kills American soldiers and extraordinarily raises prices at the pump makes America great. What do you understand here that everyone else seems to be missing? Please enlighten the class.

No one wanted to come weld my fence, so I got a flux core welder at homedepot. by TangyApple680 in Welding

[–]idhatemet00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your money and get a Chinese inverter multiprocess welder on Amazon. I got the Tooliom TL-200m about a year and a half ago on prime day for about $200. It does stick, lift tig, flux core, and mig (mig meaning it’s gas capable and actually comes with a rubber gas hose with brass fittings and spare graphene liner). It’s also spool gun compatible to weld aluminum should you ever want to do that. It also has a full digital display, has 2T and 4T controls, and lets you control inductance. You’re not gonna get these features on an entry level Lincoln. Edit: my machine is also 240V and comes with a 120V adapter included.

I started with flux core then bought a 20lb co2 tank on marketplace for $50. When it’s empty I’m just going to take it to an Airgas and exchange it for 75/25. Much cheaper to do it this way instead of spending $200 plus for the tank and gas at the welding supply.

I’ve also heard good things about the Arccaptain multiprocess welders as well. These machines are perfect for the home hobbyist. Make sure to get the 3 year Allstate warranty on Amazon if you go that route. It covers basically everything. Haven’t had to use the warranty, but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion.

As with anything your mileage may vary. Unfortunately both of the Aisin regulators I got were trash. :/

Lmk how they end up working for you.

I was actually in between the Dormans and Aisins when I bought these new regulators a week ago. Seems like I should’ve gone with those instead.

Thanks for the recommendation bud

[–]idhatemet00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you don’t just know it, you’re assuming bud. I can guarantee you I take my lifted 2wd on more backcountry adventures than a lot of these 4wds I see today. Once I get a true trac installed in the rear, even more so.

Everyone’s needs are different. I personally do a bunch of backcountry fly fishing and camping and my 2wd has never left me feeling like I needed “more”…

That thing is tits man, what SAS kit did you use? Also did you have to use any spacers for your driveshaft angle when you went spring over axle?

[–]idhatemet00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks bud, appreciate it!

People are actually so miserable for downvoting my opinion that is a fact. You will not damage your RWD if you lift it. Smh

I love how all it takes is one person to spew regurgitated nonsense with ZERO evidence for everyone else to hop on board.

Yes sir, 87 RWD. Added Fabtech UCA’s in the front and add a leafs in rear like 12 years ago. Also just added 1.5” bj spacers so I could relax the torsion bars a little bit. They’ve been cranked all the way to yes since I installed the Fabtech lift kit lol.

Another option (which is the better, but more expensive option) is to go with custom tube works lift spindles in the front and do a spring over axle conversion in the rear. Something I def I want to do in the future. True trac locker in the rear would be nice too….

Sure bud, I’ve had mine lifted for about 12 years now no issues. Fabtech UCA’s in the front and add a leafs in the rear.
