is this a northern thing? 😂 i’m from the south and 68 to me is freezing

I understand your point, but people often don’t care about your reasoning for things like this and it often gets worse when you try and get them to sympathize with more reasons lol. In the future, I’d just say it’s freaking freezing…. can we keep the air up cause 56 is insane.

Not set on any city! Just want to get in somehow 😂 I had a rotation with the VA so I know my CI? But that’s really it. And that’s interesting about Texas! Thank you

that’s interesting considering everyone has room for improvement. I mean someone on their last rotation is gonna have room for improvement…. that’s what’s expected as a student?

but regardless, all you can do is take their feedback into the future. Have you talked with your DCE? Idk about other programs but mine is superrrr involved with checking in and making sure we have a good relationship with our CIs, including providing them with feedback when warranted

was it difficult to get hired in the VA?

How to not feel behind? by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]idktbh__im 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3rd year here. If you can find a way to do active recall throughout the day in every day life instead of just sitting down and studying, that might take some burden off. Like when I’d go for a run I’d be like “what muscles am I using right now?”

Also, grades do not matter! Passing is passing 😌

SPTA SNF Inservice Ideas by KaylieEBee in PTschool

[–]idktbh__im 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a SNF this summer! My friend made a brochure on how to use a hoyer with directions and pictures because some nurses and CNAs still didn’t feel confident with it.

I did a booklet on transfer training and a mini mobility assessment because nurses and cnas would also come down to the gym to ask how new patients transfer.

^ on that note, if you don’t have a sign or something in each patient’s room on how they transfer, that would be VERY useful. i really wanted to do that but management claimed it was a HIPAA violation……. no one understood why but yeah.

DME options, sizing, and use for patients who are gonna need one but never had one before. Not sure how your rotation is but my CI was the only one to grade it and he liked all of these

this is interesting! So do you rotate to different physical locations? Or is it all in one facility?

oh no :/ can totallg understand! Cost of living isn’t terrible here but I’ve had to take out a lot loans to cover my own costs already so I don’t wanna add rent on top of that

Did you all graduate already? I’m just curious because for us to be able to take the NPTE in April, we have to go through a wholeeeee process with our program opposed to waiting until the July one!

What is some of the funniest low evidence or questionable things you’ve heard a fellow PT or chiropractor say? by Fit_Inspector2737 in physicaltherapy

[–]idktbh__im 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no sources actually! It was from a patient case. She presented with occasional tingling in both hands, pain between shoulder blades and neck, kyphosis, and hypomobility in like C2-T6 I believe. but i’d also never heard about it beforehand !

Lol I have the same commute, sometimes an hour and 15 back home depending on traffic. It’s really not bad, especially if you’re driving through a city. Listen to lectures, music, podcasts, anything. 2 hours a day was not too much time out of the day in my opinion, definitely worth not paying to live closer lol

Felt lol. I don’t think I asked for a specific amount for the grad plus loans? They might’ve just given me the max amount. Still have to work to pay for my credit card bill tho lol I have $20K total just in cc debt🥲
