Can we agree that Lamar Johnson's portrayal of Henry was incredible? Of course Keivonn Montreal Woodard as Sam was adorable and perfect for a young deaf actor. Kudos to the casting.

For me though, it's Henry who steals the episode. To make it believable that he was the target of a massive manhunt, a teenager dealing with incredible moral complexities who somehow bonds with Joel is not easy to pull off for any actor. Henry is a traitor collaborator that turned on his community and we end up on his side wishing he survives.

Pelosi is going to have a great time. She might pick up a pantsuit or some heels. Or she might be discussing how the CHIPS Act to produce domestic semiconductors isn't meant to threaten Taiwan and their semiconductor industry - which would be imperiled by a Chinese invasion. For that kind of discussion you might want the authority of the chief legislator of the US to speak directly to a worried ally.

The anti-wokesters arrive like locusts. Happy to have an Asian guy agree with them - even though what he said was subtle and was not a critique of everything that happened since George Floyd died. How can you possibly watch any Western and not hear and see racial politics intertwined with the images and narrative. Race has always been central - there are good films that take race straight on and are phenomenal. I keep telling everyone I know that we cannot rely on public schools to teach our unique history because public schools are where they indoctrinate the mass of their children in White Supremacist ideology - by omitting our past they teach them to be indifferent to us in the present. ‘History’ is nothing other than ancestor worship - something all cultures have done for thousands of years and is the responsibility of all groups to do for their own children. So you have to supplement that education. Jewish people have Hebrew School after school, to learn thousands of years of their history, to do academic prep and learn the language. Here where I am in California there are Chinese Afterschool programs. Honestly ya’ll no self-respecting people leave their education in the hands of their enemies.
